    "He's either sulking or he's terrified, I'm not sure which" is my favorite part of this video. I do agree those white specks on the end of the hairs make these magnificent spiders so pretty to look at.

    Hello Dave and Camera Lady. It is a lovely night for a pairing video. About 74 degrees here in Texas. Thank heavens! I am always pleased when the male gets away to play another day. Well done! Hoping for lots of babies. Take care and stay safe.

    Are they abs Dave….. or whole mince pies? 😂 All the best for 2023 guys, thank you for all your hard work this year - I’m off to enjoy your video.
    Edit: See! Now *That’s* why *every* pairing is like a great movie sequel - you never know when or where the drama’s coming! Superb job, and some great advice at the end about clamping the female rather than the male.
    The males are built for wandering, which is why the ladies are larger, because they stay in one place waiting for a Randy Tanty to come calling.
    The danger if you leave the female free though is also the increased risk of her falling - and depending on her size and the height of fall etc, she’s more easily injured, or likely to be - the male is designed to scarper.
    I just thought I’d add that nugget of wisdom - since I learned it from Dave regarding handling, or ‘reasons not to, number 42’
    Great video, real teeth clencher, superb mate! ❤️ to you both - looking forward to another year with you in the Beastie Room! 👍🙃

    What a beautiful mating pair they are - and obviously in peak condition, all credit to you Dave!
    I love them both, the male has such good self esteem putting his lady-love in her place and being masterful just as she wants him to be (yes gentlemen, there is a time and a place for that!) I love his adorable pink toes too!
    And the female is just a hunka burning love and so big and furry, she's almost cuddly! Her pink-tipped fur is so pretty.
    Their courtship behaviour is fascinating. When he has her in his grip she's putty in his hands! She literally went loose-limbed with ecstasy, so sweet! But my God, when it was over, he knew it - I've never seen a spider move so fast as he fled! I bet you were a bit worried for him Dave. Glad he lives to love another day!
    Wise advice for other spider owners, to control the female - the aggressor - NOT the male. As long as he gets away in one piece, however it happens, job done! Thank you Dave and Camera-Lady for another mesmeric video! XXX

    Man, why are the views down lately? This is a top notch spooder channel and I just don’t get it. I guess antagonizing tarantulas into acting defensive or bolting is more exciting or something. 🙄
    I’m way more interested in their natural behavior and trying to recreate their natural habitats than making them scared. If you feel the same, you have come to the right channel. Just wish more people appreciate d how much love and passion these two have for their inverts. It makes me smile.

    Hi Dave and Camera Lady 💙💕🕷️ hope you’re both doing well and that you had a wonderful Christmas!
    You never disappoint with the content of your UA-cam channel. Quite literally The Best of The Best.
    I love watching Tarantula/ True Spider pairing videos on your channel Dave. Because it’s done on the spiders time, they’re not rushed or stressed out, you have the time and patience to stay whether it’s a wham bam thank you mam, or a marathon courtship. 😅 You’re there, with paintbrush at the ready to jump in and keep your 97% intact!
    I love the wee golden hues on their feet, when the light hits them they glow. There’s a huge body difference between them, the female is just stunning, she so wanted to have her partner for a bit of lunch 😮
    So, hopefully we should see an egg sac in a few months time then with baby Avics in 🕷️🕷️🕷️
    Thanks to you both Dave and Camera Lady for another amazing video from The Beastie Room!
    Happy New Year to you both and your beasties, May 2023 be prosperous and your Channel continues to grow and inspire many more people like me, in turning our fear of all things arachnid, into loving them ❤❤💙💕🕷️🕷️🥰xxx

    Great video Dave... very informative and and listening to you is very enlightening to me as an intermediate keeper. I would like to ask your opinion on something if you don't mind...
    I'm very interested in many of the rarer species especially Asian abroreal and fossorial ts like the Birupes, sp. Valhalla, sp. Hon Sej sp. Phan Cay etc...
    From your experience is it better to wait and get more experience before getting such expensive spiders or should one get them as an intermediate keeper?
    Are these like the hot ones now and will drop in price in few years and by then we'll also have more experience??
    Many thanks

    • @daveslittlebeasties
      @daveslittlebeasties  Рік тому

      It all depends on how your own confidence and ability is? if your care of the spiders you have now is fine then go for it most asians are pretty straight forward to care for just a little more exspencive 👍

  • @stanleyhyde8529
    @stanleyhyde8529 Рік тому +2

    The end of this pairing made something apparent to me that I think is overlooked and wasn't mentioned here when it comes to the males getting nomed. There's a lot of talk about females being hungry or inclined to eating them as part of the breeding process. She made a go at him as the clinch broke. A male in rough shape wouldn't be able to break away so you could get a chance to save'im. She could just grab'im before he lets go. In nature only the fittest of males will mate multiple times (I expect) while the others are food. Another pro for staying on top of the condition of all your spiders.

    • @rebel4466
      @rebel4466 Рік тому

      This is a win-win for nature. A healthy male will be able to spread more genes, causing the genus as a whole to benefit from it. An eaten male will give the female important nutrition for the process of caring for the egg sac, benefitting this generation. It's "cruel" from a human perspective, but spiders are the peak "survival of the fittest" animals.

    • @stanleyhyde8529
      @stanleyhyde8529 Рік тому

      @@rebel4466 Kinda my point. They just take such good care of their spiders here that the males usually get at least a few of opportunities to do the job. Even the males in species known for attacking the male after mating usually survive the encounter at least once here. They're just better at then most.

    8:33 I almost feel like there was a little faint noise coming from them, kind of a high-pitched squeak of sorts. Can arachnids make noises like that? Also, I vote that if spiders were to somehow become an endangered species, Dave should be the Chief Executive of the conservation effort

    I just pulled the egg sac from my female, about a week too early. I’ve got them in the incubator!

    I thought something untoward would happen when the female started to push the male against the side of the enclosure during insemination.
