Heh heh, i remember trying to fight Fatalis solo a lot just to see if I can handle him. But failing after failing so many times, I was able to slay him maybe 3 - 6 times now. And just like DG, I got back to world a couple nights ago and first monster I fought was my favorite boy, the blazing black dragon of destruction: Alatreon.

Im pretty sure there are more final bosses that debunk that statement but fatalis was a challenging fight. Although its mainly due to the fact that it did unbelievable amounts of damage.

With ice-born gear behemoth extreme is easy.I soloed him first try with that master touch meta set at the time.and there’s way better gear now like fatalis so he should be even easier now.
The clutch claw ruined Iceborne man. Fatalis only has a select few attacks where it’s safe to tenderize, but even if you tenderize perfectly if you’re using a weapon like greatsword sometimes you still get punished later in the fight where he’s more aggressive. Fatalis was a great final boss but having to tenderize him in order to activate weakness exploit was miserable.
I defeated Fatalis without tenderizing. His head and torso are huge weakspots, so much that tenderizing doesn't improve by much the hitzones. The flamethrower attack when he is on all four or the triple charged fireballs in phase 3 are also free tenderizing. I agree that the tenderizing mechanic is a horrible idea (not that it ruined the whole game), but you don't need it for Fatalis, AT Velkhana, Alatreon and Fatalis. In fact, you are not supposed to tenderize them outside of clagger, wallbang or their longest lasting openings.
@@johan9428 Fatalis doesn’t clagger, and the chest doesn’t become a good hitzone until the second half of the fight. and if you are using Fatalis weapons you need to tenderize because they have terrible negative affinity. Weakness exploit is nerfed if you don’t tenderize, and you need all of the affinity you can get with Fatalis weapons. Velkhana also doesn’t have the greatest hitzones when not tenderized, and neither does Alatreon’s front arms.
@@grimreefer213 Fatalis chest is 45 in phase 1 and 2, so still a weakspot. You can also tenderize when he does the flamethrower when on two or when your temporal mantle is on. If you are using Fatalis equipment, you can get 100% affinity without tenderizing by using Expert7, WE, Agitator5 (not even 7) and Maximum Might 5. Even if you miss out 20% when Agitator and MaxMight are not active, it is hardly the end of the World since Fatalis equipment is overpowered to any monster who is not AT Velkhana, Fatalis or Extremoth. Velkhana head is 55 and 65 when broken, so a good weakspot. Her arms are 45, so still weakspots and they can't be tenderized anyway. Alatreon arms are 60 and you would focus on them only to pass the elemental check, afterward you would focus on the head which is 85. If you use Safi armor and Kjarr weapons for Alatreon, WE and tenderizing are not even needed to reach 100% affinity. I loathe the tenderizing mechanic too (not the wallbang or even clutch attacking a monster). One thing which helped me to not let the tenderizing mechanic ruin my fun with MHWI was to only tenderize during a clagger or after a wallbang (in the case of Fatalis, the 3 opening I described or just putting temporal). If you play OK, usually a wallbang opportunity or a clagger comes before the tender runs off. Still, I cannot wait for MH6 so I can play Monster Hunter without the tenderizing mechanic and the Wirebugs.

The best part about World is your helm breaker isn’t on a stupid cooldown.
Yeah i hope they focus on fluidity in the next MH game, that was always my favorite part about playing IG.

Quick answer: yes definitely
Just beat fatty first a couple of days ago. Incredible fight
gotta learn it with the GS, easiest solos of fatty and most enjoyable I have ever done.
