    I love how people when they have Dana 44 or corporate 10 bolts throw off on them and say you need one tons but when you own a Jeep and you have a dana 30,35 they all say, oh you need Dana 44's you need to do the upgrade to dana 44's because the dana 30, and 35 are no good. Ive wheeled corporate 10 bolts, Dana 44 and the 30s and Dana 35 and I've had no problem out of any of them. So why i hear people talking all the hype about 1 tons it's just a personal preference! It's like who has the biggest most expensive gun or the loudest exhaust or the loudest sound system, it's all an ego, bragging rights thing! But opinions are like buttholes everyone has one....

    I graduated from H/S in 81, and my grandparents gifted me a new K-5 diesel 4 in the floor lock out hubs. Farmers/Ranchers are used to utilising farm diesel, so they gave it to me with GM diesel & shopbuilt front brush guard w/P to winch, you could stand inside the front brush guard to change the fuel filters. Rear farm bumper had a tow receiver, so I could pull any level farm trailer from cotton seed hull trailer, nursing tank, 1000 gl diesel, hay, cattle trailer 5th wheel for pulling a gooseneck trailer with Dolly. Manual locks & windows include rear gate glass. I had a 6” Rough Country 3” body lift 40” Monster Mudders by Gateway with 15X12.5 wagon wheel aluminum rims. I also had a 12K Ramsey electric winch in rear & 4:11 & lockers ft & rear stock axles, constant velocity U-Joints. 4 KC lights on top & 2 on brush guard & 2 Amber KC lights under brushguard. LEDs did not exist back then, but I also had 2 JD tractor flood lights integrated into rear bumper. I was a freshman in college & had all the chicks at college,merely because of that K-5 farm-mudder😂

All rusted out or super expensive show trucks. You can keep that damn cold and snow though. And Im from Fairbanks, Alaska! Don’t like it cold anymore! Good luck with her brother. A very good start but certainly not an "Ultimate Offroad Machine":
    No rear spring bump stops.
    You WILL rip the rear lower shock mounts off in the rocks.
    Say goodbye to the stock brake light lenses (need protection).
    It will be a tippy bastard, a tad too much lift and tire.
    Too much tire for those 15's, the sidewalls will be VERY vulnerable and the front inner u-joints will be a weak link.
    Front springs look "weird", there is a compression bend that will limit articulation.
    Needs sliders to protect the rocker panels.
    Need OBA (ALL 4WDs NEED OBA)
    Didn't mention if the front was locked, it will be necessary if even just a Detroit, selectable is preferred.
    Just spool or Lincoln-lock the rear or use a selectable if driving on snow/ice (that rig will be TERRIBLE in the snow, regardless).
    Gear ratio is WAY too steep for those tires AND engine. I would be surprised if it will do 55 mph (not a deal breaker but the lower (numerically) the axle ratio the more you move the damage further into the drive-train). Trust me, it's easier to carry a spare axle than a spare chain-driven t-case that is in your rig currently).
    Very few achieve the ultimate offroad machine, as it will be FOREVER evolving. And to note: if you sell it, prepare to take a bath. More profitable to sell it for parts. BTDT...

    • @TheBlazinBiddles
      @TheBlazinBiddles  8 місяців тому

      I appreciate the input. It is ever evolving. It will not be sold. Ever. End of story. There’s way too much behind the meaning of This to my family and I. Front is spooled currently. The longer I have it the better and better it will get. The front springs have been replaced since I made this video as well as adding rear bumps. It does absolutely amazing in the snow. At least where I’m at and these are my winter tires. I don’t do much rock crawling or much summer wheeling at all for that matter and with the 6.2 diesel turbod and the current gearing on the 44s it gets about 16 mpg and will do 65 easily. Can do 70 but gets a little unstable above that speed.
