    This still doesn't answer the question why sound is loud in fl studio but low on export, nothing to do with quality or whatsoever, its about the volume thats soooo low on export

    5:10 Audio on Compact Disc is 44.1 kHz stereo WAV, not MP3. A data CD you burn yourself may contain MP3s to save space, but not the typical CD albums you would buy/sell in a store. A CD holds 700 MB for data like MP3s (about 700 min at 128 kbps) or 80 minutes of audio at 44.1 kHz stereo WAV. Also, never use MP3, use M4A (AAC). MP3 is as antiquated as the CD.

    Great question!

  • @beatsimkiez1900
    @beatsimkiez1900 5 років тому +27

    That's accurate. Have myself been struggling with this and I found out it's actually the sound driver that's used what is causing the difference in sound quality and loudness between the DAW vs. exported. The ASIO sound drivers create high quality sound compared to standard laptop drivers like Realtek High Definition Audio.
    My best advice: Use your primary sound driver when producing, NOT an ASIO one. This makes sure you actually hear what the exported result will sound like during your production process and prevent any disappointing surprises afterwards. It will also force you to do better mixing and sound design which creates a better end result. Most people listening to music on UA-cam or whatever platform don't have an audio interface, so they won't hear what you hear when using an ASIO sound driver. Hope that helped someone.

    • @beatsimkiez1900
      @beatsimkiez1900 5 років тому

      @@willvall7868 Why is it lost? Which DAW are you using? In FL Studio you can select your sound driver under "options" and then "audio settings". The program also automatically does a backup every few minutes - I think every 10 min by default - so you can still load your last backup even if you didn't save your project manually. Switching between sound drivers is always possible and should never cause loosing a project.
      Maybe your program crashed and you had to close it without being able to save? Then load your last backup and set the buffer length of your chosen sound driver to maximum. Also make sure to adjust your PC's settings to get the best performance possible.

      @@beatsimkiez1900 yes. get it. just mean when i change it to primary sound driver the sound is like the rendered audio. but it sounds very bad on this option. much work to do now. but thx for telling. just wondering why f. e. justin omoi and others recommend to use asio driver when you cant use it for uploading songs (if i understand correctly).
      ok you can use it for recording. but thats all...

    • @beatsimkiez1900
      @beatsimkiez1900 5 років тому +1

      That's the purpose. When you use your primary sound driver, you actually hear what it will sound like when it is exported and also what it will sound like for most listeners. Of course it doesn't sound as good as ASIO but what's the point of good audio quality during production and terrible one after exporting? This way you are forced to make it sound good on computers with a standard soundcard. The reason people recommend ASIO over the other devices is less latency - ASIO bypasses Windows and thus causes less latency issues - and, of course, "better" sound quality ONLY(!) in your DAW. After exporting this quality is gone because the ASIO drivers are only used inside your DAW.
      For similar purposes, people mix in mono. They know not everyone has a stereo sound system and want to make it sound good on mono systems, too. So they mix in a way to make it sound the best possible on both mono and stereo sound systems. Just implement the same way of thinking for the issue we've talked about above. Top producers, mixing and mastering engineers are doing this on a daily basis.

    Does different daws render different type of quality of the track!!??? Or is it the same algorithm for all the daws to render out the perfect quality.
    Can anyone please explain this to me?

  • @Kentavious444
    @Kentavious444 2 роки тому +1

    Very informative but how do you compensate for the difference? This is a problem that has plagued me for years. It's often hit or miss for me. I have taken to uploading things to UA-cam or Soundcloud on private settings so that I can hear what kind of sound loss occurs and then go back and try to adjust the mix by memory. Then I repeat the process until I get a result I'm happy with. But this is just so unscientific and time consuming. Certainly there must be more a formulaic way.

But when you export it i guess it thinks that it is lower than 100% which is the track you are hearing. Also check if you have a fruity limiter on your master, in the mixer. One thing you can do is mix with your headphone/speaker volume set relatively low, like if you're on Windows leave your computer volume at 40 and don't change it. When you mix in a DAW with the speakers turned up that's when you really get the difference between an export and the sound in the program. I find that leaving the volume at 40 will export a track that sounds like 40 even when you crank the volume. I think higher volumes in the DAW are more perceptively dynamic, and that cannot be contained in an export that combines all the tracks.. thus by mixing at a lower volume you are never hearing those dynamics to begin with.

      "Audio CDs are encoded with 16-bit values. Higher bitrates are generally used for editing, not for playback. You can write 24-bit WAV files to an optical disc, of course, but it will not be a standards complying audio CD."
      random comment from google search
      With that being said, dont forget to dither down to 16 bits when you render (bounce) your track down. I usually bounce a 24 bit master, then another 16 bit version.

    My pro-tools sessions come out low even after bringing them back into pro-tools for a mastering mix, but in Studio-One I have a lot more control over the sound which makes the quality of the overall mix nice and loud without having to master the track. I just think Studio -One is better than Pro-Tools unless your recording in a million dollar studio with crazy options for plug-in's, outboard gear, EQ's from the board before even having to mix through Pro-Tools, but if your on budget like me Studio-One is better. Just personal opinion.

    • @rox1601
      @rox1601 3 роки тому

      There are thousands of possible reasons for that... To narrow it down:
      If crackling is just in background, I don't think it's the rendering. Although, if you haven't tried yet, figure out if it's a problem in rendering anyway or elsewhere. Export one of these songs again with the same settings and compare the two mixes. If the crackling sound is at the same time in both mixes, it's most likely not a rendering problem. You also can export single tracks to find out which instrument causes the cracks.

      @@dougleydorite turn any effect on this track off and lower the volume. Check if the crackling is still there. If it is, it is most likely already recorded and it's hard to eliminate it. If it has gone, then an effect or a combination of effects is producing the crackling. To figure out which one it is you just need to listen to the clean track with always just one effect turned on until you find it. If it is clean with each single effect try combinations. Distorted guitars often have too much low frequencies. Also can compressors or limiters produce crackle with to narrow settings.
