    There's some "no cost" weight that you can cut immediately. Cut the mud flaps, mod the battery tray (like my video), cut the excess body mounts, get rid of the grub screws on the a arms, cut off any excess motor/battery wiring, etc

    Really, the 2.0 is what MIP has made the SCTE 1.0. I spoke with Eustace at MIP and it lookes like all existing and future products from MIP will work on both the 1.0 and 2.0. I like the fact that it will be a TLR vhicle, finally and that it will be a kit.

    I am using the one piece TLR stand offs for the TLR tuning kit. The easy fix was to drop the entiore mount bracket down, raise the posts uop and only use 2 of the 4 screws to attach. The good side, 4 less screws (but I'm using the Ti screws, damn it!!!)Good times!

    Yeah losi listened to all the racers with the new 2.0 truck for sure. I'm sure it will give the teknos of mine some competition.

    I went back and checked......With the TLR chassis (which takes off 70 grams) and the TLR tuning kit, the truck weighed in at 5.93 lbs WITHOUT the shell! Shell is about a half pound.

    Yep, was there yesterday. I usually make my trip there once a week. Mostly in the early afternoon

    You need a full set of SAE wrenches. I suggest the MIP/Thorp wrenches (check out my most current vid (3/8/2013)) you will need 3/32, 5/64, 1/16 and .050" wrenches. You will also need a 1/4" nut driver and the standard 7mm nutdriver for the wheel nuts.

    Now you got me thinking. And these are issues that have not been addressed by the 2.0?
    By the way, love your channel. Very informative and detailed. Would love to see videos of you running your truck at the track too.

    i have the mip kit but my rear shock tower snaped now im using a tlr rear shock tower and it handled way better and the back of the truck came down alot more and it looks great.

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  7 років тому

      Thomas Busch MIP later released a similar shock tower that had the same drilling as the TLR version. Their drivers seemed to do better with the TLR tower

    Pretty light, but I think we are comparing apples and oranges! lol Under 6 lbs RTR for an SCTE is super light, considering the RTR stock is 6.75 lbs. You gotta remember, The SCTE is based on an 1/8th scale buggy and is super durable. The light-weightness of the Slash has it's +/-.

    I like the idea of the Tekno.......And I was tempted to buy one.......but I passed for now. MIP has some great things coming out right around the corner that will blow Tekno's doors off!

    It sure wouldn't hurt. Savox servos really like to give the ESC's a run for the money on trying to steal voltage. I just run the Spectrum Voltage Cap. With the RX8, this should be plenty. Lots of people that run the MMP need the Castle 10amp BEC to make it all work

    Great video. I think I'm going to pick up the new scte 2.0 to compare it to my current tekno trucks I own.

    Yeah i feel your pain. I live about 30 minutes away as well and with traffic it can be 50 minutes. Lucky that i have a local track thats only 10 minutes away.

    @TheRCNetwork  11 років тому

    I'm not sure, I was in upgrade mode too quick and didn't get a beginning weight. I did a weigh in about a quarter into it. The RTR on Losi's website states 6.75 lbs though

  • @TheRCNetwork
    @TheRCNetwork  11 років тому

    For right now, I can't really say........But you will see it debuted on my channel first! I can say they did address two of the biggest issues with the SCTE.

  • @TheRCNetwork
    @TheRCNetwork  11 років тому

    Im assuming you're running it in an SCTE? if so, the Pro4 should have no problem pushing that rig at all, especially with the RX8! Something's wrong somewhere. Maybe wiring? Something's causing the heat. Also maybe reset the RX8. I've had my Pro4 4000kv running in three different rigs for over a year now and my 4600 runs great in my MIP/SCTE. Temps are about 140/110 RX8

    I have the SCTE with same motor and RX8 as you. I bought a Savox high voltage servo for steering.Would I need a capacitor with my setup? Love your vids by the way, very informative!

    I've bounced around and perhaps I missed it, but did you ever implement the MIP steering links? I'm the guy who has the Losi 810 and I'm looking at some of these MIP pieces and the steering links are on their way. I'm doing it more for weight savings I'm getting close to having it under 5lbs, but hoping there is some tangible slop reduction as well. Additionally, did you ever try out the Vision drag links (with the bearings?). Thanks so much, your videos have been helpful to an old 810 guy in chery picking SCTE upgrades I can employ. ;-)

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  9 років тому

      Yeah, I did install the MIP aluminum steering posts. The links are an MIP Pro4mance kit included item. they're slightly smaller diameter turnbuckles with some added washers to keep the full suspension travel without binding. Under 5lbs will be tough! My fully moded MIP rig was 5.85 lbs in the end, full RTR. Thansk for watching!

      The RCNetwork Appreciate the response. My vehicle is nitro so unsure if that is heavier or lighter than electric (I'd think heavier but who knows with the fuel). I typically weight my vehicles naked, meaning I remove the variables (wing/shell/tires/fuel/body clips) so I have a baseline from which to work, With that said, I just weighed my 810 fully dressed (no fuel though) and it was 5.75.oz. I got the MIP steering links but have not installed them. Durability is most important to me, however, I appreciate the mindset you and other SCTE guys bring to the table with respect to weight -wartching...it makes a huge difference. ;-)_

    Have you had any issues with your pro4? I just sent mine in for the 2nd time for repair. Overheats bad!! I have proper settings on my rx8 I sent my rx8 in as well just in case its why i keep blowing my pro4. Tekin has been good about it but dang its gettin old. I set the current limit to 50% droped down to a 12t pinion and no timing and the pro4 locked up 5 mins in my run after i got it back from Tekin, over 200 F. I'm thinkin about getting a 550 sized Viper 4.5t motor.

    I have a losi ten scte with your same setup, mip kit, tekin motor and esc, and servo. I had lost the cowling years ago and when looking for this mip kit online, its discontinued EVERYWHERE. I cannot find the kit anywhere and all i want to do is buy that 10$ cowling. It is also discontinued everywhere but why do you think mip did so in discontinuing such a good product ? It is old, but still performs great ! But my most important question is if you know where i can find and buy that cowling ? From a site, from a seller or ebay maybe ? I just want the cowling. Thanks

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  7 років тому

      I would contact MIP direct and see if they have one laying around. I personally never ran the cowling after I first installed it...I had to cut away material, as I didn't exactly have a stock set up

    Hey Rich I have a big mouth full question...LOL... anyway I was looking at both the tlr scte 2.0 and this.I have people at my track that run this the tekno and the new tlr scte 2.0 but I was thinking that I like the 1.0 it's sweet it can still beat a tekno and the new tlr kit.But what do I need to do to make it preform like the new updated version.Tell me everything you bought to make it what it is today. If I do get the 1.0 I would get the tlr tunning kit the mip chassi and the carbon center and front plate.But do I need to get different diff cases if so which.Tell me what you used to make it what it is.

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  11 років тому

      Money wise, It's probably a better buy to get the 2.0 beacuse it does have alot of the upgrades that the 1.0 needs with the MIP to be successful. Here's a short list: 1.0, MIP Pro4mance kit, TLR Tunning Kit, Losi HA Shock Boddies, TLR HD Diff Cases (3), King Headz Motor Mount/Center Diff Upright, SNR Carbon top plate

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  11 років тому

      Check out my playlists on the MIP and the SCTE. I have about 50+ videos on most of these upgrades.

    hey ..im getting some streering bind on my mip kit...its when shocks are at full extension....did u have this issue....only way i can fix it is by loosening the screw on the steering link on the caster block.

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  8 років тому

      +gixxerrick2002 The MIP kit should have come with different steering links (smaller than stock) and a unique cove style washer to allow the full length travel

    • @gixxerrick2002
      @gixxerrick2002 8 років тому

      it did..but the ball fits really tight in the rod end...and its making steering bind

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  8 років тому

      +gixxerrick2002 You'll probably have to dis-assemble and see where the binding is happening. Double check against the directions. I haven't built that kit in a couple of years....

    what are all the size hex wrenches you used to put the losi together????

    after its all said and done...is the bypass system better than good old fashioned emulsion 35w on all 4

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  8 років тому

      +gixxerrick2002 It is and is infinitely adjustable. The only down size is you do have to maintain them and replace the valves from time to time. super smooth!

    Is it better than the losi tlr 2.0 kit???

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  8 років тому

      +marc dubois In my opinion, yes.....is it a better deal.....no. The TLR SCTE 2.0 gives you some serious bang for the buck. The 1.0 SCTE was never meant to be a race vehicle, which is why it had the Losi name vs TLR. People started upgrading it and running it and it was quick. The MIP kit is a great value if you already have the 1.0
