    The two big ones are the MIP kit and the TLR Tuning kit. That's about 90% of the upgrades. HA Shocks bodies, TiNi Shock shafts help, but not totally needed, King Headz MotorMount/Center Diff Upright will take all the slop out of the drivetrain, HD diffs to make the 1.0 version leak free and get rid of those little shims. That's it.

    The TLR tuning kit provides some needed items to make the MIP kit even better. Although, you will have an extra set of carbon shock towers, the adjustable suspension holders, shock upgrades and rear hub carriers are a very needed. If you are just installing, I would recommend getting the HA shock bodies, as they're a bit easier on the MIP valves

    It's a great motor. I've had my 4000kv since January and it's been in 3 SC trucks and the Exo. My 4600 is getting beaten in my Outdoor SCTE right now!

    It's the 4000kv motor. Love the torque! I also have the 4600 in my outdoor truck to give me some versatility

    Nice setup. I picked one up about 5 months ago and it's all stock. Still impressed. Only problem in northern illinois there are few indoor tracks in the winter. Many have closed in recent years.

      +Joe DeJohn Good deal on the SCTE. Yeah, I've seen the same here in SoCal, which is RC's main hub of manufacturers......acouple of local shops have closed along with one of the main tracks, West Coast RC, which was home to the Reedy prior to 2013.

      What do you think about the Jammin' SCRT10? Last reviews I saw were years ago.

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  9 років тому

      +Joe DeJohn It's an old platform and I doubt you can find it or parts.....I ran the Nexx10SC (the SCRT's newer brother with a laydown battery and pillowball suspension) and it was okay. the shocks were smallish and the shock towers kept breaking......If you want the next step from the SCTE, pick up a Tekno SCT-410. It's rock solid and your existing body/wheels/tires and electrics should bolt right up. That's what I switched to almost 2 years ago and couldn't be happier. The Tekno is a great truck and needs literally no upgrades to be awesome!

    Love the vids man. New to rc and new sub to your channel. I went with the site roller scte. Got the tekin pro 4 hd and tekin rx8 on your advice. And I'm soooo happy with them. Other than that the truck is stock. I'm a little torn/confused on what to do next. Been watching you vids all the time the TLR kit and the mip kit. Any advise what I should focus on next? I race no real bashing for me. Just wondering what helps my truck better and run faster. Thanks for all the vids man. I prolly done watched 50 of us vids.

      Thanks for watching, Jeff! You're at a great place with the SCTE. Your best bang for your buck if your racing will be the MIP kit, then the TLR tuning kit. After that, look into the King Headz Motor Mount/Center Diff upright. Down the line for maintenance, pick up the TLR HD Diffs and TLR HA shock bodies

    As always Thanx for the quick reply. What are some other must buys for the scte if its solely for racing? I'm new to this so any info is very appreciated and helpful.

    I was going to get the Tenshock sc401 4000kv but it's out of stock so I'm getting the 4600. Can't wait:D

    I plan to tear down the Diffs when Horizon sends me the replacement parts next week. Kinda wanted to test it prior to filling with silicon to have something to compare to, but we'll see....

    I can see your using the youtube antishake stabilizer, kinda makes it hard to see the details, and your camera goes out of focus alot, but apart from that, great video.
    is this the standard roller ten scte? or the 2.0?

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  10 років тому

      Well, not really.......For some reason, every once in a while when I upload videos, there's a strange effect that goes into the video where the background almost seems like its shaking or being moved rapidly. This was one of those issues

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  10 років тому

      This is the SCTE 1.0 with the TLR chassis and the TLR tuning kit. This was shot probably a year prior to the 2.0 being released

  • @TheRCNetwork
    @TheRCNetwork  11 років тому

    I believe the TLR chassis takes 70 grams off of stock. I have a video that compares chassis weights and differences. Check out the MIP Pro4mance kit. For about $165, you get the chassis and lots of pro level parts and it takes about a half pound off the car

    Oddly enough, most everything in the shop is with an iPhone 4s.........Out in the field/track, a Flip Video Mino HD. I updated the shop with the white backdrop and the lighting. Plan to get a better camera soon, although the 4s is doing pretty good. Just no zoom on the video.

    Thanks for taking the time to reply bro. I just ordered everything you advised. Thanks for the help bud. One other thing if you get time. How do you clean these things? I know my RX8 & The Tekin Pro 4 HD can't really get wet. Thanks man

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  10 років тому

      I only run the SCTE/MIP on an indoor clay track, so clean was always easy. 90% of my RC clean up consists of blowing down the truck with an air compressor and then wiping it down with a damp microfiber cloth. When I do maint., I get into all the crevises a bit better

    I know old video but I have a question. I recently installed the TLR chassis and carbon towers (both brand new) and once all back together my body no longer lined up correctly with the body posts. It was off by several milimeters. I had no issues with the swap and everything went together smoothly. One suggestion I found was that the carbon towers are thicker than stock throwing the alignment off, but the way they mount to the diff housings in relation to how the body mounts screw to them doesn't make sense. Did you happen to run into the same issue if you remember?

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  10 років тому +2

      Yep, I had the same problem. I just made the holes a bit oblong and added those body saver disks under neath the body. All was good, but yeah, I wish someone would have told me too, before I found out the hardway!

    Hi, Is there any posibility of doing a review of HBX Hellhound 1/10 SCT? I've been driving it lots of time at our local hobby track (brushed version) so far its been a great sct for the price and as well as handles well with the top speed of 25mph out of the box with stock 7.2 Nimh battery pack. As far as my observations its lot more competitive with competition level 2wd SCTs like Team Associated SC10, Losi and Slash 2wd (Slash,which is only for bashers grade).
    It'll be really appreciated if ya'all could manage to do a review even with a used vehicle.. Thanks and Rgds!

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  7 років тому

      Thanks for the comment. First of, I've never heard of HBX (which is not a good thing....) I searched for the Hellhound and could barely find anywhere that even sells them......let alone parts. One of the most important things in RC is replacement parts, which actually qualifies the item as hobby grade (having replacement parts available. Now that's not to say the HBX is not a good vehicle....it just wouldn't be in the realm of what I look for in an RC

    will the stock diffs that came with the kit leak if I put oil in them??? do I need to buy the hd diffs or can I run anyway??

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  11 років тому

      The stock diffs are fine. You may see slight leaking, I never experienced any. The HD diffs have a more precision cut to eliminate the little shims and also have a thicker seal.

    • @TheRcworld101
      @TheRcworld101 11 років тому

      so would you buy the hd diffs or stick with og diffs if you started over again???

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  11 років тому

      If you're starting fresh, pick up a set of the HDs

      It's plenty. I ran the 1258 in my indoor truck for over a year. I now run the same in my SCt410.
