The thing that most impressed me was when we all walked into the Governor’s office was him coming out from behind his desk and welcoming the exchange student is perfect Spanish. I HOPE that most Georgians will not let the memory of that Spirit of Resolute Charity and Kindness toward all people be forgotten, made mockery of, and swept-away by the opposing inclinations so prevalent in this era of USA history.

So they believed in a social gospel, which is not the gospel of salvation. It's another gospel. The good news of the gospel is that Jesus Christ died for sinners. If we confess our sin He is faithful to forgive us. He lived a sinless life on our behalf. He died on the cruel cross so we would die eternally, but have everlasting life. If we repent and believe, we will be saved!

@@johnelder4273 Please go study to avoid looking so, so ignorant! President Carter didn't sell the Canal for a dollar. The Canal was returned to Panama, its rightful owner. The dollar was just to document the transaction in your books.
There were not 45,000 thousand lives lost building the Canal... that´s hyperbole. Even considering the French period, before the USA´s involvement, the total number of deaths don't surpass 22,000.
As for US citizens per se, the number of deceased was 5,609.
Now, if you don't find anything positive to say about a gentleman who has just passed away, please better show respect and stay silent.

Jimmy Carter passed the Surface Mining Act of 1977 and in doing so created the Office of Surface Mining. I worked for that agency for 35 years and owe my career and retirement to Jimmy Carter. I believed in that environmental law and persisted to always work to implement the intent of that law as he would have wanted regardless of the agency later being managed to subvert the law in favor of industry post Ronald Reagan's election and his appointment of James Watt to head the Dept. of Interior. Rest in peace President Jimmy Carter. You're loved more than you will ever know.
