Imagine being able to pick up a guitar and play like this 😌
You have to put your mind to it and give it your best and eventually you will:)
It starts with the simple act of picking one up each day and playing it. You acquire it like a language, sometimes you don't have a lot you can say but after time you form full sentences. Try to speak to yourself each-day :) You'll be telling stories in no time.
Practice makes perfect. Have the love in your heart and pick up your guitar everyday with a clear mind and open heart and songs like this will start flowing in no time. Finger style is very easy to pick up. Go get it brother!

I always lost my pick in the guitar sense I'm just now learning. Was always able to violently shake it out- Now I fingerpick because the pick is uncomfortable to me.

Alan is by far the best guitarist I've even seen.
Nobody has a voice like him on the instrument and honestly he's such a role model for me as an aspiring musician

@@kevinpaul2784 just keep practicing fingerstyle songs, especially ones with fast hammer ons and pull offs, as there's a lot in Alan's songs. After a while just give one of these songs a try and stick with it. Good luck! :)

Favorite Alan Gogoll song. Something about it communicates resilience, hope, and new life. I can picture the caterpillar steadily making his way up the tree to make his cocoon.

One day, you and your partner go out on a date day. A wonderful date in the meadows. All is quiet, all is peaceful. You stayed in the meadows until sunset.
Your partner grabs the guitar you brought with you guys with your basket of food and drinks. Lying in a open field, they play the guitar in your ears as you lay on their lap, watching intently into the horizon.
The sun starts going down, unleashing bright streaks of yellow, orange and pink into the sky. A hue of warmth, of softness and gentle skies. Everything felt calm and still. It was as if time stopped.
You drown yourself with the feeling of serenity. Feeling of happiness. The feeling of forever, down to a single song.

Have a short story thing I wrote whilst listening to this:
The sun hung heavy on the horizon and the rippling tapestry of its waves crashed gently upon the shore. Fiery foam capped each molten peak and gold crowned the clouds as the lonely figure danced along the shore.
The wind sang its silent song and the sea pounded with the beat of her heart as the waves guided her steps.
Hair like streams of molten midnight twisted and tangled around her like the sea lashing upon the distant cliffs and her soul soared with the gulls overhead.
A smile as pure and rare as an ocean pearl flashed in the darkness and in those few moments, everything was right.

Writing this cause I have nothing else to do.
Usually I don’t really go outside to play guitar. I play inside most of the time but today, today I feel confident. Most of the time I’m scared of what people might think if I play my music in front of them. But today is different. Grabbing my guitar I head to the door and start walking to a near by hill. I’ve always wanted to be someone big in the music industry but my anxiety gets the best of me and I back out. Maybe people will walk by and hear the sound of a guitar playing, sounds going through their ears. I sit down on top of the hill, the sun is starting to set. The first down stroke I get a bit nervous.
“Think of it as if I’m playing in my bedroom right now, no one around, just me.” I thought. Second stroke. Third stroke and before I realize I’m playing a whole song. I hear footsteps approaching behind me but I don’t stop playing. The sun is completely gone and it’s just me and the stars left. I like to think the stars enjoy listening to my music. I also think their always there for me. Up in the sky, shining down on me. The sound of clapping zones me back in to the reality of the world. I turn around and a decent sized crowd was there clapping their hands together.
“Maybe performing isn’t so bad after all.” I asked myself.
Everyone needs their alone time...his music is what I gravitate to when I want peace!

For anyone wondering what birds are calling in the background, they are called common swifts (taxonomic name Apus apus). Alan, perhaps you could write a tune named after a swift! Just a thought hehe
Birdwatching and listening to Alan Gogoll's music... two of my favourite things right now :) The common swift is the most often seen swift in France. There are other kinds of swifts, including in Australia.

People ask me how to play guitar, or where i learned how to play guitar, I picked up a uke one day and started playing when i was down or out, I was awful at first, but thats what music is about, its about the mistakes, its about listening for the notes that allow you to express your self, i went from uke to guitar and fell in love instantly.
