i think because the va needed to tweek his voice a little for the vocals to go well with the music, or it could be that they wanted stolas to sound more emotional than normal
when brits sing pop/rock stuff we usually drop the accent a little. and usually in stolas’ songs he sings in quite a classical, formal style, but here he’s definitely singing it like the ballad that it is.

kinda hoping Verosika becomes Stolas' new bestie. He needs support, and she understands the hurt he's going through, so it would make so much sense.
