The Little Railway That Didn't Give Up

In 2002 a group of railway enthusiasts met in Helston and, together, decided to reopen as much of the Helston branch line as they could. The Helston Railway is the result.
The railway reopened in 2011 and so far 1 mile of the 8.5 mile branch line has been relaid by volunteers of the Helston Railway Preservation Society.
All proceeds from passenger ticket sales, donations and memberships go toward funding the efforts to reopen the railway.
There are a several steam engines and old diesel engines working on the line.
