Ok, I finally got to making a Jack Sparrow costume. Just got the tutorial posted for the compass, and the rest of the costume will be coming over the next several weeks (interspersed amidst a few other tutorials)

It's pretty easy once you get started. Almost everything is glued together, so not a lot of fancy sewing needed.

Which material do you use for making the suit
It's vinyl. So it looks like leather, but it's a lot cheaper.
Why didn't you make the season 4 suit
Unfortunately I started the costume back in early summer before season 4 began, so I had no idea how cool the season 4 suit was gonna look.
