The Crows are doing him a massive favour. He can go to a club in premiership contention, on more money and with a longer contract. No pressure from the feral SA media in the Adelaide fishbowl.
This makes no sense for Adelaide, why make this public and not try and keep him playing under wraps and then getting more leverage. Now teams know he’s out and they have to take a low ball offer or accept him walking for free. Watch him be traded now for a 3rd round pick maybe even with a 4th at most now
So he is contracted for next year, but nicks has told him he won’t be offered a contract? How does that work? Collingwood will be wondering if they can try that with Grundy.
aka he wont be offered an extension past next year, so allowing him to go to a contender this off season rather than waste another year in a rebuild. That way they both win, Crouch gets to play for a contender next year and the crows get something back for him in a trade this off-season.
Don’t announce no extension. Just send him on his way and get ample value for him! Going to be no good now with other clubs knowing he’s got no fate at the crows. Dangerfield rinse and repeat. Another free agent
@@johncsmith123 completely agree his future would be brighter at another club. Just ironic how the next clip is Tex mentioning they need experience to lead the youngsters and then want to dispose their major ball winner. Not a fan of any club letting go of that for chips
He's obviously had a down season coming off previous injuries, but based on history Matt Crouch at his best is probably a top 20-30 player in the comp. He was one of the crows best players during their dominant 2017 season and easily their best player in the 2017 GF. Considering he is in his prime years at 27, if an opposition club can snag him for a 3rd rounder and he gets back to his best footy, it would be an absolute steal.
Nicks appointment from the start was a failure from all involved. The decision makers as well as Nicks should step down immediately. This constant rebuild is ridiculous when it should be happening from the top down. Rebuilding is not just about players, it's about a whole football department and administration also.
The only person who should be delisted is Nicks. He’s won just 15 games in 3 years. Continually talks up Adelaide week after week but they rarely deliver. It’s idiotic that Crouch can’t get a game, I think they’ve won just 1 game without him all season. That tells you all you need to know
Go to most games and the crows are, as a rule, too small, too short or too light. Our recruiting staff seem to get it wrong regularly - do we have a skills coach - if so sack him if not get one - sick of unforced turnovers due to skill deficiencies. We could delist 10 of our squad easily.
Crouch has stated many times he loves the city of Adelaide and it’s lifestyle, if Port end up with a draft pick in the 30s they should consider trading for him, Crows no longer have much leverage.
Such a disrespectful move toward a club champion. Edit: I will vom hard if they put their hands out for priorities… straight after reducing a good players worth to zero! Even worse it seems is team management and PR… IQ must be in the negative integers to suggest this was a good Adelaide Football Club move.
Good player? When’s the last time Matt crouch had a stand out game. I’m sorry I loved him when he was a part of a dominant mid but he’s really struggled over the last few years. They could have handled it better imo but Nicks probably wanted to give him pre warning so he could get stuff sorted for next year
@@zaydevans2077 good player! A great player would be someone ticking over b.o.g’s. Not sure what good is in your language but in terms of footy, I’d suggest it means they’re serviceable. It’s no wonder why players such as Jake Leaver,Eddie Betts,Brad Crouch and others have left the club the way great servants have been treated in recent times!!!!
Nick's doesn't have the insight, football brain or the competency to coach an AFL team. Really poor by matthew nicks this is a former all australian and player in the leadership group. I understand perhaps he prefers more speed, spread and defensively minded mid. Strange considering how much time he spent at sydney he couldn't get the best out of Matt crouch. Now he has de-valued what should of easily been 1st round pick or player in-coming to a disgruntled player whom will walk to a better situation and dominate. I reckon he would be a walkup start in 15 teams in this league only perhaps bulldogs and melbourne i can see him having trouble getting a spot as inside mid. Not an adelaide supporter but perhaps nicks could be close to being shown the door 1 or 2 more years of this he doesn't deserve his contract
Crouch for Grundy straight trade. Both clubs assume their individual contracts and salaries. Adelaide pay all of Grundys salary and take over his contract and Collingwood likewise with Crouch.
This comment section is full of absolute jokers... There is no room for Crouch in our team Berry has already passed as a second year player, Laird is better and Keays at least runs. Crouch WAS WAS WAS listen WAS good 5 years ago that is irrelevant. If Crouch wanted to stay he should of worked on his massive flaws in his game but he didn't. This is the one of the only move the crows could make
Crouch can get 30 disposals in a game and most of them will be either backwards or go the the opposing team, why do people pretend he is still a good player? Most people I know believe he actively holds the crows back but it seems online it’s always a different story
Doesn't a rebuilding club/team need senior/mature players to help out the younger players to grow, be taught and lead by these players?🤔 It is pretty crap when a club craps on a former champion of their club🙄 Bad blood and all?!
I don’t get why people are upset about this, Crouch peaked in 2017 and hasn’t even gotten close to that again. Every time he has the ball he makes a horrible decision which often times ends up in a turnover goal, most games you can count how many times Crouch has specifically done that. He can get heaps of disposals but only around 10% of them will actually be useful to the team, he just isn’t the same player he was either so to lack of motivation or laziness.

Adelaide of the last 4 years should be the blueprint as to how you destroy a football club from within. What a disaster. They will be stuck in the wilderness for the next decade at least.
Talent isn't the problem. Lazy players unwilling to put in the required effort are. They should all be told their contracts are on the line. From club president down!

With the amount of talent this mob have driven out in recent years it doesnt take a Rhodes scholar to realise they lack talent.
