Very good advice, and it's so simple! When you think about it, this has to be the best and fastest way to get your jade to have a thick trunk. Thanks for the video
Absolutely. Particularly within bonsai a lot of the removal in just about all stages of tree life can be pretty aggressive, all you really care about when training trees is trunk thickness and development and the retention of key branches and structure, as you see here he's left the main trunk line as well as the next largest dominant deviation from the trunk, plus some smaller branches that he's likely got plans for in terms of shape, he's left a couple leaves for photosynthesis purpose I'd assume- Anything extra is generally done away with when it's convenient/won't shock the tree too much. It's all preference regarding where you want ramification and what you envisage in terms of the form of the tree months/years/decades down the line essentially.
Thank you for sharing xour knowledge, to improve my home Jades. I do not understand sometning. I want to graft and I want to put together three, four branches of a jade tree. Should I cut them along the entire length at the place of the composition or should I always wire them all together without a cut. Should I take it out of the ground and assemble the roots or just bring the branches closer to the pot?
Bloody Big thumbs up from Australia! We love your videos, great content and straight to the point. Subscribed to your channel brotha! Stay healthy and keep up the awesome videos!
Can you tell me if you start your cuttings in succulent soil or bonsai soil. I have a 5 gallon bucket of succulent soil at the ready, but can mix up bonsai soil if I need to.

No time like the present. I started when I was 25. Three kids and two dogs don't make it easy, but there is A LOT to learn about Bonsai. If you start young you will know more and have more than if wait until you are old.
portulacaria afra is in my opinion the best starter to get into this hobby. Easy care not super high maintenance.... and if you mess up with over watering it is an easy fix. Can literally cut the entire root system off and restart from new. Also recommend and other form of succulents that have the ability to be tree like
Prices might look a tad high depending on where you are trying to shop but definitely worth it keep all of the cuttings you take over the years and sell of some here and there it literally will pay for itself no life got a decent variegated one last year and I was able to yield 52 babies from mom yeah I have to maintain them for a little over 3 years to get a better price for them but I'm not looking to get rich real quick looking to make money back and be able to pay for new species to collect you have to honestly go out of your way to kill off portulacaria afra I've put them through multiple tests from hydroponic to soil I've even spaced on giant cuts for over 5 months and still got them to root for me by far one of my all time favorites in my collection my variegated mother plant literally went through neglect during the pandemic because I couldn't afford resources and only got water during the rain last yeah she got new soil and a hair cut almost 2 weeks ago and most cuttings survived from this year and already started rooting themselves go for it!! You will not be disappointed or regret wasting money impossible if you show them love and care winter can be a little tricky depending on location but spring and summer they will grow anywhere in the world
@@bonsaihunter007 Thank you! I've been trying to make my own jade bonsais for a couple of years, but it never really worked. Probably because I didn't give them enough space. I also didn't know that you could shape them like that. Hopefully, if I follow this video, my bonsais will be much better :D
Sir please make a photo clip video of various "informal upright bonsai". Your informative representation is so helpful for me as a beginners . Thank you , Jai Bhawani.
I have a baby bonsai tree I’ve only recently took up the hobby but what I want to now how do u get your leaves thicker like the images u see on the internet
Water when the top layer of soil is dry, keep the bonsai in full sunlight, the soil should be well drained and there should be no water logging, repotting after two years is suggested in summer months
That’s one way to do it you could also keep it in its tiny pot and let the roots dig past the pots boundaries at least that’s what I’m doing with my cascading jade and it’s been only a couple months and a ton of new growth and girth has transpired
Soil must be well drainedand dries quickly after watering....I use sand grit 50 percent and 50 vermicompost ,can mix top garden soil...full sunlight required
I'm little bit cofused agar koi bhi bonsai like ficus variety apna trunk big pot mein hi apna trunk thick karega toh jab hum use bonsai pot mein lagayenge toh woh trunk thick hi nahi karega aur process of trunk thicking slow ho jayega pls clear my doubts
Bonsai ko pahle bade training pot ya grow bag may ya phir ground may grow kiya jata hay phir use training pot may lagaya jata hay.....jab shape ane lage tab hi bonsai pot/shallow pot may lagate hay....
There are two types of wires Aluminum and copper , copper is expensive. I use both. There are different gauges of wires available, we use according the thickness of branches
Hello Sir do you experienced plant shocks too after repot I mean the leaves are getting thinned? How long you think for it to recover?I experienced shocks on my Port Afra after repot some of them no shocks and they recover fast and some of my Port Afra takes time to fully recover.
You have to let the branches grow wildly then prune back...by pruning you get ramification of branches......and when ever I repot my plants I do pruning
Sir can you tell soil composition for jade?and can we defoliate jade?and as it requires less water which is the best fertiliser for jade and fertiliser intervel?

Ek baat or bataiye ki jade ki trunk ko lamba/uncha kaise kiya jaye?
Kya kuch time ke baad wiring ko hataya ja skta hai? Kya plant shape "retain" kar lega?
Plant ko lamba karna asan hay achi khad do aur prune mat karo
Wiring branch ko stable hone ke baad hatana chaiye

Well drained soil, sand grit and vermicompost mixture is best , yes you can defoliate this, but why....
Nitrogen rich fertilizer fortnightly
Pruning is best technique to grow pads or for ramification
