I think a lot of musicals forget this song has an ensemble, and usually all of the females on stage are also singing the background parts with the Heathers which makes the song sound fuller and more aggressive. Another thing is, although Heather C did have a good voice, I think the part was way too out of range for her vocals. I've seen her videos, and she made a video regarding the Illegal Heathers situation and she said that she actually auditioned for the part of Veronica but they decided to put her as Heather C. She said the Veronica from Illegal Heathers was very talented and she doesn't know what happened the night of recording and why she was so awkward and out of tune, etc.

It was most likely done at a highschool. Usually they dont get rights to do musicals or plays, they just do them and prey to god they dont get sued.

Heck, the majority of the time they didn't even get timings right. Saying that it's just a high school production is not an excuse when it's clear that a lack of effort is the biggest issue with this production, not a lack of money
The original heathers had more power in their singing and the illegal heathers wouldn't go even higher than a voice crack honestly

Heathers because the cheap as hell looking one the three playing the heathers aren't even good and at one point they didn't even do the actual movements and turned screwing that isn't even a swear into playing and stuff like that
