This is the first I have heard of Beasto Blanco and I grew up with Alice Cooper in the 70's. I watched the video for "Run For Your Life" and the checked out a couple more songs. This is good stuff, hard edged but still grooves too. She just earned a new fan. Thanks Jason for introducing this to me.

You have really been missing out. They are sort of a mix between Monster Magnet, Motorhead and the Ramones and all 3 studio albums are terrific. The new album will be their 4th studio album and they have a live album as well and put on a very visual show. Good, good band.
Calico is super talented and continues to grow as a singer. Every Beasto album is terrific and I am sure the upcoming album will be as well.
Calico, I love to see how excited you are about all the topics covered in this interview. I love how you see your father and the music industry, because when you say that Alice appreciates the emotive aspect of his shows and music it resonates with me. He has produced a soundtrack to my life, and it's because of him I have discovered so many other artists.
I had a Live Fast Die Loud EP from well before Beasto Blanco was conceived. I love what you brought to those songs!

Sweetie,its very natural for kids to follow in their parents footsteps, that has happened for thousands of years. My mother was an RN, i became an RN. My father was a butcher,my brother became a butcher....its normal whether father is a Butcher,a Baker. Or candlestick maker....

I watched a few videos and it's good but there's something missing. I don't know what but it doesn't click. It's cool but I'll listen to Alice. But good luck with that bad. Way better then all the bubble gum stuff that is popular out there

Nice interview, Jason! I first met Calico on the tour with Alice in 2009 (she was 28) - she was so friendly & welcoming. I met her again in 2019 on the MegaCruise and we chatted for awhile waiting to check in, plus my boyfriend & I saw Beasto Blanco (great show). Once again, she was a total sweetheart and so talented!

Thats the thing about rock star offspring , celebtards , it really doesnt make a difference what you say,, they always take it dramatical. As in psychopathy.
Would be nice if the recording were of a higher quality.
Id like to see who could outsell themselves in an interview. Nita Strauss or calico. Good stuff, enough to make a self help book for us less optimistic. She will have a 500 page memoir of her success before 40. Jason good job on letting her continue, many people would cut off after 5 minutes. Nonetheless I like the band, they'll open up for Alice,.if not already. Their remake of the feed my Frankenstein was creative, monster movie theme. I watched some performances in small clubs and it didn't transfer well. I am sure they will do a soundtrack and probably a rock cruise as she seems to be plugged in.
That topic has been brought up and Beasto Blanco would probably never open for Alice as that would require Chuck Garric to double dip on the playing time which would wear him out. Both shows are highly physical in nature and require focus that doing both won't allow for. Now if Chuck just did Beasto full time and not play in Alice's band, then I think it's a possiblity.
Okay, not trying to be rude but there are a few inaccuracies here. First, Calico will be 43 years old this year. She looks much younger and her energy is incredible but she has paid a lot of dues not just in music but other projects including acting and comedy. Beasto Blanco will never open for Alice (you may curious to know her brother Dash has a band called CO-OP as well). Beasto is a heavier band than Alice and Chuck isn't going to play in two bands on the same bill, just like Nita wouldn't do a solo show opening for Alice or Tommy doing a Crossbone Skully show in front of Alice. Not to mention Beasto is not a new band. This will be their 4th studio album coming up and they have been around for well over 10 years. In terms of comparing Calico's sales figures to Nita, it is an apple and oranges comparsion. Nita does a lot more touring when she isn't with Alice while Calico and the rest of Beasto have many other projects so they don't have the time to tour as much. Not to mention the fact, Nita's solo stuff is more modern rock so she is going to get more radio airplay on satellite radio and modern rock. Hopefully, Beasto will get some airplay too but many of the members of Beasto (not Calico herself) have been in tons of bands and have toured for years so they are considered more classic hard rockers. Both are doing very well, vote rock and both are successful.
