Excellent Analysis and instruction on how to approach the polyrhythmic elements in this piece. Also, an excellent performance! I think it worth noting that the quarter note pulse is revealed briefly in the piece at 4:36. Tigran does this in many of his more complex rhythm pieces to show reveal the how it fits in a more normal framework. Again really enjoyed your insight and performance.
Thank you!
At 4:36 that is actually dotted eight notes on the right hand’s thumb. At that point it would be groups of 7s and 3s on the RH, 5s on the LH and the pulse in 4s.
I do wonder if Tigran thinks of the pulse in groups of 5 or in quarter notes!
@@Groovetude Wow you're right. I had to slow it down to really hear it. I am not sure how he thinks the pulse of this piece, but in listening to his rhythmic vocalizations as he plays, i bet it is in smaller groups of 2s and 3s. I can't hear it consistently to get a clear idea of what he is doing.
Oh wow, Brilliant! I'm thinking of buying the sheet music from his website with this, Markos & Markos, and Lilac in it. This video will be great help! Thanks mate!
Thanks! I do recommend you buy the sheet music, the layout is beautiful and the transcriptions are spot on!

De rien!
I have a feeling Avishai Cohen is gonna be a future video topic????
Maybe, I am trying to focus more on my own music for now, but definitely possible in the future
