THe balancing animations as the elephant power look like Sonic's balancing animations. To be honest Nintendo doing that could be a clapback at SEGA for using a Mario-like jump during the victory animation for Sonic when he beats a level in Sonic Mania, but idk.
To be fair Mario Wonder was made with charm regarding innovation and revival for 2D Mario, and Sonic Superstars is just “another classic sonic game”, and is “made to compete” with Wonder, So Nintendo had every right to brag with that Sonic balance animation.

It's a testament to something that you're still practically making a healthy career out of pointing out all the fun little details and nuances of the engine. SMBW is truly special and clearly lots of love and care went into this game.
