As a Cyber Security engineer, I can assure you that most of us work remotely for firms based abroad. Kenyan companies don't value Cyber Sec. There is a sea of Cyber Security professionals in Kenya who can combat cyber crime but Kenyan companies such as banks, telcos etc, will pay peanuts (300k a month for a junior position is considered peanuts) and they all have unnecessary requirements eg you must have a degree. Most of us in the industry have high school certificates and a few industry preferred certifications & projects.
Kenya is NOT even ready for cyber crime my friend, not even half ready, izi za sahii ni stale bots that happen to cross our network, you guys aint ready for shit hamna experts
Corporation wako ready.. but I've never heard of any cyber security department in government. Huko interns ndio wamejaa IT support and are rotated every year.
Kenya is lucky, no one cares about its security... a certified cyber security and an ethical hacker would bring down most companies 75% to its knees with their certificate level, vulnerabilities everywhere from banks, telecommunication, Firms and so on. if a DDOS can make Kenya suffer 1000nds of packets.... lol

I second you G, they never check for certifications and skills

Let us embrace it and make it to work on our advantage.
