also - if/when possible it could be very helpful to show live examples when explaining these. IE when going over the thrown/throwing, it would be really helpful to break it down by showing the interaction play out instead of just talking about it. PS keep up the great videos!
There is not one that spells it out very nicely but under the rules of an advance you don’t have have to worry about terrain you are currently on. After someone pointed this out in a battle report where I moved Zemo short to get off of a building. I messaged AMG to confirm and sure enough everyone knows parkour it would seem.
Because I like to nit pick I'd like to point out that modock would cancel pierce from wilds because during the "modify your dice step" the attacker modifies his attack dice and then the opponent modifies the attackers dice. Because that step happens before the "modify opponents dice" step the wild is no longer available for the attacker to modify the defenders dice.
Thanks for watching, and I am glad that it is helpful for you. There will probably be a follow up video because as more characters come out more interesting situations can come up.
I'm having trouble figuring out what qualifies as modifying dice for the sake of venom's ability, things like defensive re-rolls, or change X to Y effects are obvious, but with other abilities it becomes more opaque. Do abilities like I Can Do This All Day or Martial Arts adding successes for blanks count as modifying dice? I would assume no, but the wording makes it seem ambiguous and the online rule book doesn't help.
It is a little bit more ambiguous, and was probably my second question as soon as I saw Venom. The answer is modifying dice is when you would make any changes to the dice themselves so things like cover or rerolls would be modifying. Static abilities like Martial Artist and ICDTAD are not modifying the dice, just what that dice face means. So those aren’t negated as you thought.
idea for a CP video series - A break down of the Crisis events 1 by 1 - Setup, rules, interactions (ie getting/losing objective, strategy, tactics, strong/weak characters) - ect
Hey I really enjoy your videos and format, clear audio and no over religion of the same information. For the last item here; cards and named characters; Where does it say in the rule book that anyone can use the card and not just named characters? Thanks!
Hey James, I’m glad you are enjoying the videos, and hopefully they have been of some help. I’m not sure what card you are referring to here, but most cards are pretty open to be played by any character. There are cards like Gamma Launch that have to be played by a specific character (hulk), but because it doesn’t mention that that character has to be the active one (like Medpack or Tactical Analysis) it can be used much more flexibly.
The Gamers Guild thanks! Don’t know why it replace repetition with religion in my comment. Wow keywords are really important, or, more so; if they aren’t there like in the gamma example. Thanks again
Also when throwing Terrain something at a character on Terrain and that character is set back from the edge of the Terrain , the thrown object will collide with the Terrain they are standing on first correct?
Great video, thank you! So the movement stick sounds like it always has to be centered on a character correct? As in both "teeth" are touching the character when using the tool. Does the same rules apply when using the measuring sticks? Some attacks specifically call for centered on your character while others don't. So when measuring for an attack, if the stick is touching any part of your base in any way and it's touching the enemy characters base in any way, it's okay to use?
So for things like beam attacks yes it needs to be centered, anything involving the movement tools should be in between the teeth unless your character is stopping short of the full move in which case the characters base just needs to be touching the side of the movement tool.
Beacuse of timeing would M.O.D.O.K.'s SHEILD it should also stop explosive/power sap/push/thrown since they all happen before damage? But I stops reality warp recovet
It would not unfortunately for anyone fighting MODOK. MODOK’s ability triggers in step 10 (Modify opposing Dice) of the attack timing chart. Which means that when step 12 happens (resolve effects before damage) any wilds would have been turned to blanks, and would not get to trigger. The only reason Pierce is able to still trigger is it also happens in step 10.
Hi G, So as for the first “error” here is a link from Atomic Mass games responding to a question about just that if you don’t believe me facebook.com/thegamersguild24/photos/a.173731373970424/173731990637029/?type=3 As for the second “error” do you have a page example for that because everything I have shown follows the attack timing chart that they have given us. So because a push would happen before the opportunity to use an ability like So many snack or counter strike it has a chance of pushing them out of range. If you want I will happily confirm this with AMG and post another link to their response. This is a list of things commonly misplayed.
Hey dude, I think Nate has it right about affiliations. And I’m not 100% sure what you’re asking with the second question, but if it’s whether a character that’s defending can use a SuperPower like Counter-Strike after being pushed out of the range for it, you’d be wrong. You have to be within range when the power/effect would trigger. Anyways, Nate’s pretty good with the rules but not infallible. In these instances though, he got em right.
@@TheGamersGuild the community manager is wrong, its sounds like I don't wont to accept I miss understand the rule but ... for me at less the rulebook is clear, and there is no FAQ about this; (For a squad to have a squad affiliation, more than half of its characters must share the same squad affiliation) so squad "All Minis" have the squad affiliation + Avengers character = character with the Avengers squad affiliation. its looks clear to me. the community manager is wrong. Hey love your videos but you are wrong about affiliations. Page 13 core rules if a squad is 51% affiliated then all members become that affiliation. Goes on further to tell you the keywords cabal, avengers etc etc.. are interchangeable with affiliation. They mean the same thing.
It is a bit confusing but no where on page 13 does it state that anyone becomes a member of that affiliation. Characters are only the affiliation that are listed on their corresponding affiliation cards. Everything on this list has been confirmed by AMG : )

I'm still working on the painting part.
Does red skulls leadership ability potentially trigger 4 times four times in the same round for rapid fire abilities?
Yep
When we first started we weren't taking energy for damage taken =P
Haha, that would make for some interesting games.
Do you have a rules reference for not having to climb down off of terrain? I can't seem to find the rule for this.

Why would MODOK modify an attackers dice during the modify Your dice step instead of during the during Opponents dice step?
Thanks for these videos. Super informative and you mentioned some things in this list that I have been doing. Thanks for the heads up.

I believe his overpower is a place effect right? If so then yes he can.

Good video Nate, thanks for sharing.

Yes standing on cover is the best way to take shelter from other thrown characters and terrain.
Great video, thank you!
