Outstanding and exciting features!
I really appreciate these shorter videos for Dorico! Please do more in this short format.
Thanks - most of our videos are in this format - enjoy!
thank you for your explanations. I love DORICO!
*WOW!*
Great.
Great content and stunning program. It would be a very useful feature to have the option to show all automation lanes at once with the inactive ones "bleached out" and the possibility to toggle between the different automation lanes with a key shortcut. Logic Pro X does so. Often if you edit automation, you want to know what happens in the other lanes to coordinate them.
Yes, multiple simultaneous CC lanes would be nice.
This is the only true notation software for professionals. Why are Sibelius and FInale priced for professionals when they're not pro software?
Hi Eric Peel Music. You are right. Quite user friendly is Dorico.
Thank you - I think you'd have to ask them.
True.
Eric, while I gladly agree with you about the state of things now, It is a pretty recent development. One must keep in mind that Sibelius and Finale have been around for ages, and are constrained by legacy code/design. Code and UI can be updated only up to a point before you need whole new libraries. All sorts of costs come into play then, including appeasing grumps like me who don't like change lol
Nonsense. Sibelius and Finale aren't restrained by anything. They could easily improve interfaces over time and simplify code. Fix bugs that have existed for 20 years. They charge us plenty enough. They sometimes update interfaces and sometimes add features but it never works better. It always has problems. It looks and works hideously ugly. So they are poor at managing their resources. Our standards have been way too low for way too long. I will be engraving with Dorico for my next score in 2-3 months time.
Is there a way to change a velocity of a note in Dorico
I have version 3.5.12. I've watched this video several times as well as studied the tutorial on Holds and Popovers. I can add a fermata from the right hand tool bar to my score but it doesn't affect the music. In the Play mode ~ I don't see where to add a fermata. I don't have a midi keyboard, just using my mouse. Any advice? Thanks!
At the moment fermata's don't affect playback yet, sorry. You can make timing changes in Play mode though (there's a time track at the top) so you can adjust the tempo there so give the same effect.
What controller is track volume automation?
MIDI volume is controller 7.
@@dorico But - there's no asterisk, and when I do edit it, it does nothing... it doesn't affect the mixer fader. Are they automatable?
Where is the velocity lane? Why does Dorico have so many problems implementing some basic functionalities that are decades old by now?
We are working on that - it wasn't a priority for a notation program, but we agree it would be a nice option.
@@dorico It would be incredibly useful to also have the aftertouch and pitchbend lanes available! Is that on your list too?
