I agree they shouldn't have underrated this movie Hercules! I love the movie and he has the most greatest Disney guy voices in songs! I love him even when he was skinny in the beginning of the movie.
The film is underrated too. It doesn't get the recognition of several other prominent Disney flicks. IMO its every bit as good as Beauty and the Beast and WAY better than Little Mermaid.
Glad I'm not the only one that misses the days when every frame in a Disney movie was a masterpiece The new style looks too much like every other cartoon It's lost that Disney original signature style
Andrew Tucker Your taunting derision is as erroneous as it is ineffectual, and your lack of taste in music is nearly as detestable as your tactless choice to try to antagonize me. Studies show that "trolls" typically have self-esteem issues deep within their psyche. It might be more effective to vent your dissatisfaction with the general rigmaroles of your daily life to a local qualified psychologist, instead of unleashing your emotional disgruntlement upon individuals of the general public.
They've gotten it back in the last few years. The Princess and the Frog was a major turning point for Disney, and Frozen has already become their second most successful movie behind The Lion King.
Let's be honest though lion king is still better aside from being generally awesome and having timeless songs unlike the new pop songs it Shakespeare with fucking lions. Shakespeare with lions how is that not one of the best things ever.
While I'm not happy that the Disney movie did not follow the actual myth of Herakles right (even more annoyed once I got into Percy Jackson), I absolutely adore this movie as a kid and I adore this song! Yes I still do! I mean it showed off one of the best messages ever, that having tremendous physical strength doesn't necessarily make you strong. Hercules had all the physical strength in the world but no one liked him where he grew up and was outcasted. He was still a loser despite being the strongest of them all in terms of being able to lift something. Then later he was rejected as a god because he hadn't found his true inner strength which made his physical strength seem like nothing. I think it's a very powerful message a lot of people maybe don't relate to as much, but should learn to understand better.
Ingrid Alexandra Yes I know it's not accurate. I got more annoyed because the Percy Jackson, more specifically the HoO series, portrayed Herakles really off, but at least they kept the general myth idea there. Coming back after being annoyed with PJO and HoO's inaccuracy made me more annoyed with the inaccuracy of Disney's Hercules because it was at least twice as bad. I wouldn't say I hate either of the two (or three if you separate PJO and HoO), in fact I still quite love both, but as a mythological enthusiast, the annoyance will be there for inaccuracy. Hope I cleared up the misunderstanding and I apologize for not making myself clear.
I love this movie too! It started my interest in Greek mythology. I don't really care about the inaccuracies though because it's minutely important to the story and it's got amazing songs!
Yeah im also disappointed but the actual myth is actually so disturbing that zeus had about 3 wives and that hera is his frickin sisterand also his wife and eros or cupid shows of his private parts and stuff... Imagine disney like that
ive been depressed as long as i can remember. this film was released when i was 5 years old. this song has always been so intimately connected to my heart. going to a place where i felt like i belonged. now im 26 and in graduate school. "I am on my way. I can do the distance... Somehow I'll be strong". It still applies. this is a true gem disney gave to me that I'll forever hold in my heart.
I have often dreamed, of a far off place, where a great, warm welcome will be waiting for me. Where the crowds will cheer, when they see my face, and a voice keeps saying this is where I'm meant to be. I will find my way, I can go the distance. I'll be there someday, if I can be strong. I know every mile, will be worth my while. I would go most anywhere to feel like I belong. I am on my way, I can go the distance. I don't care how far, somehow I'll be strong. I know every mile, will be worth my
I'm glad someone finally asked instead of just clicking "dislike." A superpowerful being taken from his home to be raised by farmers. Grows up hated by his fellow peers. Thinks that there's a purpose beyond his knowledge that his parents eventually let him discover. Travels far and finds his father who tells him who he truly is and where his powers came from. Trains to become a hero, falls in love with a woman not of his kind, and makes the whole world love him by his deeds. Sound familiar?
Disney didn't mess up. I don't think they're going to put Zeus cheating on his wife to rape a mortal. Especially when a lot of kids are going to wonder why his mum isn't Hera. Parents aren't going to explain rape >.
As a kid it was always my goal to try and hold that end note, and now, several years (and several singing lessons) later, I can actually do it and I'm pretty sure it's like my biggest achievement
I used to think Hercules sucked because it didn't follow the canon of Greek mythology. After a long time watching this film, I see now its values lies in that it's differs from the original stories of Hercules. Disney is a company of story tellers and artists, you can't expect them to just copy the same tale from thousands of years. They had to redesign it to make it more appealing and entertaining for the masses which in my opinion they succeeded in doing.
What's always irritated me with Disney movies is they feel the need to have a "big name" re-do songs like this. They did the same thing with Mulan, but the version in the movie is 100x better.
The song is beautiful...Case closed. Every Disney movie has at least 1 song that you'll always remember and cherish. But yeah, this song has message, don't give up and keep fighting through life.
I wonder if they altered the pitch of Bart's voice to make him sound younger. What's more funny is the kid who voiced young Hercules, Josh Keaton, actually was a trained singer and would go on to join a boy band after. But despite that Disney went with Bart because the song was written for a high tenor.
Julianne Hannes This is a high key song. Not easy to sing for someone like me. His voice definitely wasn't altered. He has a pretty decent range and this song isn't very up and down. So it makes sense he hit the high notes so well.
The story is close to the myth or not doesn't matter. What matters is that it's a Disney classic that we will never find again in the present. The songs in these classics like Mulan, Aladdin will never fade...
Wanna hear some hardcore Disney recycling? Go listen to the Festival song from tangled and then listen to the opening of Topsy Turvy from Hunchback. It's the SAME.
this songs makes me think a lot about the support my family has given and keep giving to me evry day of my life and makes me feel graceful to that so much :)
Julianne Hannes I've heard modern day superheroes are our version of Greek myths so that doesn't surprise me. Although I will say that this movie was what got me interested in the Greek myths and when I read them, was I heartbroken that they were so unlike what Disney portrayed? No. If anything, I wanted to read more because I was so fascinated.
*Slowly applauds while tearing up* Thank you for posting this without the interruptions to the song, I haven't heard this in years and wanted only the music, and this delivered perfectly.
Disney is better than Pixar. Disney used the Pixar brand too much I don't think they wil ever use the disney brand again, I miss the old disney with this kinda abomination and songs....
***** I agree that comparison is a little strange, but movies like this will always be better than any anime. Now if he would've said dragon ball z I'd be dying on the floor.
I hate how underrated this movie is Hercules voice is one of the best in Disney
I agree they shouldn't have underrated this movie Hercules! I love the movie and he has the most greatest Disney guy voices in songs! I love him even when he was skinny in the beginning of the movie.
Dat Tøp th
agreed, it's such a great film with some amazing voice talent, possibly one of the best disney films.
I think Aladdin and Hercules have the best voices
Roger Bart 💕
"Somehow I'll be strong"- Knocks whole tree over with his hands.
it's figuratively speaking, not literaly
+kaiju_kun64 pretty sure he/she was just joking
he did'in drink so he keep he god like strength
It's more of a mental strength, the will and determination to continue untill he finds the answers he seeks.
Now I will forever think that when I see that part
That last long note he hit. 👌🏾
Fr you really feel that part heavy
I had this on VHS this song touched me at one point, nownim back older and understand why
You mean YBS….
my glee teacher sang this song!!! he doesn’t teach at my school anymore but he had a wonderful voice 🥺🥺
This song makes me cry
I like your version, so seamless.
This is the actual movie
Bootiful *chefs kiss*
This really is underrated as a film.
Good movie...🤗❤🇮🇩
I love all the My Hero Academia edits to this song
this movie is one of Disney’s best movies, but is also one of its most underrated movies
This movie deserves way more attention.
Feel like they missed out on him going into a murderous rage cause of Hera and killing his wife.
Yeah ever since I read the percy Jackson books I've been reminded of the Greek mythology I've learned about whenever i see Disney Hercules.
When I feel like a Disney movie every once in a while my 2 favourites are this and the lion king. Amazing movies with amazing soundtracks.
It sounds kinda similar to “for the first time in forever” from frozen doesn’t it? No, anyone?
Love this version! So much better when it's all put together with the reprise. Hope I have an easier time finding it again next time.
i miss this disney ik its mostly the nostalgia speaking but ...i cant help missing the 2d cartoons and the music
This isn't cheesy at all.
this is empowering, and motivating.
this movie inspired me.
Alex Rife I think he would have became Hercules regardless of who he was related to. his attitude is the real winner. :)
Alex Rife me too.
yeah it inspired me too I have always worked for the day i could push a tree without effort
I used to sing this before running races and still do whenever I feel hopeless
Same here! This enlightened the bulb of imagination and reading in me after video games....!
This song is so underrated
Glad I'm not the only one
I also kinda hate how much I can relate to this song.
The film is underrated too. It doesn't get the recognition of several other prominent Disney flicks. IMO its every bit as good as Beauty and the Beast and WAY better than Little Mermaid.
William Gill Don't agree there. It's underrated and I like it a lot but Beauty and the Beast is still better :P
Hi
i loved when disney did movies by just drawings like hercules! now there okay but i really miss these kinds of disney movies. anyone else agree?
Glad I'm not the only one that misses the days when every frame in a Disney movie was a masterpiece
The new style looks too much like every other cartoon
It's lost that Disney original signature style
True day
+makeup cause it's emma totally agree....
EmmaC yeah
Fake news
Gosh, it took him a while to sing that song. He really spaced it out over the course of that journey.
This song gets me every time. Please stop trying to convince the world that Let It Go is better than something as deeply true and heartfelt as this.
Both are good
Let it go and frozen will NEVER hold a candle to Hercules
I bench to this song. Nothing motivates me more than this.
yeah
Aciebel not even I'll make a man out of you? ;)
I run to it
@@cookiecrunch8849 yea I'll make a man out of you is perfect for running and other work outs
Love the song, don't like the fact that the uploader called it cheesy, but still thankful for the upload.
+Fickly Foibles dude i love you so much for this link XD
+J Cook This is the cheesiest cheese in the world. It's ok.
Andrew Tucker Your taunting derision is as erroneous as it is ineffectual, and your lack of taste in music is nearly as detestable as your tactless choice to try to antagonize me. Stop using big words to act tough. Andrew Tucker never said anything bad about this song, he just called it cheesy. Cheesy isn't bad in this context.
The best superman movie ever made
Are you forgetting the very first Superman movie?
😂
Love this version cuz it has the WHOLE THING
+Melonie Zappa Right??
That last note... :)
I KNOW RIGHT LOL
It’s like 400 miles long, I was out of breath not even halfway through
Why couldn't Disney stay like this, cheesey but awesome
They've gotten it back in the last few years. The Princess and the Frog was a major turning point for Disney, and Frozen has already become their second most successful movie behind The Lion King.
***** MORE successful now
Let's be honest though lion king is still better aside from being generally awesome and having timeless songs unlike the new pop songs it Shakespeare with fucking lions. Shakespeare with lions how is that not one of the best things ever.
Jak Hawkins I don't know, it's still a really amazing movie. I like them both
There is nothing cheesy about this.
AI know I'm going to sound like an idiot for saying this, but, are you being sarcastic?
No I'm for real
Oh, ok than. I agree by the way. :)
CURSE YOU NETFLIX FOR TAKING THIS OFF OF YOUR MOVIE LISTS!
Bellaneaushis Plays, Sings, and MISC I agree me and my sis wanted to watch it but it was gone so we had to pay 4.99 for it!
IT'S BACK!!
They did the same thing with Astro Boy, that movie is so heart warming
While I'm not happy that the Disney movie did not follow the actual myth of Herakles right (even more annoyed once I got into Percy Jackson), I absolutely adore this movie as a kid and I adore this song! percy jackson series is NOT ACCURATE -__- good lord.

Roger Bart's voice in this is A-MAZE-ING!!!
1:40 reminds me of "Hell Fire" from The Hunchback of Notre Dame :)
Haha I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that
I can understand. With the long dark hallway
5. go the distance
4. ill make a man out of you
3. can you feel the love tonight
2. let it go
1. strangers like me
I'm not the only one who loves strangers like me. Hooray.
+Jak Hawkins I love every song in Tarzan! I have the soundtrack, which I listen to often.
Agree with list but u have them in the wrong order and frozen? Really?
I totally agree
I like why would I worry song
Herc held that note though like so fucking long
It's fucking Disney. Of course it's going to be cheesy. I love Hercules:)
thank you ^^
I am not a Disney freak but, lately, I have been hooked on old Disney movies.
LOL I know. I am so dead
Corey Messick Get over yourself.
***** No kidding Lol
He isn't even trying to hide it.
Hercules has got to be one of my favorite Disney styles, another would be Sleeping Beauty's style
Cheesy, yes. But the song is really quite beautiful in its simplicity.
ive been depressed as long as i can remember. this film was released when i was 5 years old. this song has always been so intimately connected to my heart. going to a place where i felt like i belonged. now im 26 and in graduate school. best cross country song EVER
Even better for insanely long distance swimming
Gets you through it all
Miranda Mulligan even better for voyages across the entire world in the 1700s
Lucas DiCiano right dide
Haha I used to sing this and I'll make a man out of you before races
My motivation during finals week.
Hercules is a boss simply by how he can hold that final note for so long.
man, this song from beginning to the end even after 200 times watching this movie still get me tears. good old handcrafted Disneys
honestly I find this so relatable since I'm a rare type of nerd/geek
wow, a meme lover has emotions?
derangedcrowd shocking isn't it
As a college student in the midst of finals week, I find this stunningly accurate.
I have often dreamed, of a far off place, where a great, warm welcome will be waiting for me. Where the crowds will cheer, when they see my face, and a voice keeps saying this is where I'm meant to be. I will find my way, I can go the distance. I'll be there someday, if I can be strong. Get chills every single time I hear this song, possibly the most motivational Disney song ever.
This! And Oliver & Company are my favourite ever.
You my man have your priorities straight!!
Big thumbs up :D
Why thank you :)
Yes.
This song makes me cry because it hits close to home
My motivation song when I play Flappy Bird lol
Amen to that
yoitstia lol I've never played that game to protect myself from enragement. Lol.

I am running my first half marathon at Disney World in January. This is so going on my playlist! It's the Disney runner's anthem.
This video was edited VERY WELL. Thank you YamahaBill
the bit where he walks into the temple sounds like hunchback of Notre Dame
I struggle very hard with self motivation to do ANYTHING and its an issue. This and I'll make a man out of you are the only things that motivate me
That final "RIGHT WHERE I BELONG" as he's soaring through the sky always sends chills down my spine. :3
"I will please the gods"-Erm, ever thought about... Um, I don't know... Hera?
you gotta remember that disney fucked the facts up and now Hera is Hercs mum
"I will please the gods" Thor: Are you kidding me? Your father took my title! that simple bum, I'M AN AVENGER!!!!!!
Disney didn't mess up. I don't think they're going to put Zeus cheating on his wife to rape a mortal. Especially when a lot of kids are going to wonder why his mum isn't Hera. Parents aren't going to explain rape >.
In this version, Hera's his mother, and a loving one at that.
LPS Waves Good point. Parents wouldn't want to explain why Zeus had another child with someone who wasn't his partner.
As a kid it was always my goal to try and hold that end note, and now, several years (and several singing lessons) later, I can actually do it and I'm pretty sure it's like my biggest achievement
Roger Bart's singing voice for Hercules is just SENSATIONAL. I keep crying whenever I watch this.
I never knew Roger Bart could sing, but he sounds FANTASTIC! Really nails that last note at the end!
I used to think Hercules sucked because it didn't follow the canon of Greek mythology. I need this self esteem in my life
My childhood was super perfect thanks to these wonderful cartoons n movies ..
If you really listen to lyrics, you begin to realize how meaningful this song is, especially as you get older
Even though this movies mythology was pretty off, it's one of my favorites. And so is this song. :)
I have often dreamed of a far off place.
..... really....
Yes
No one is gonna listen to your baby music
Yes they will.
See!! Someone liked my comment. Unh! In yo face jjsnake
This song and movie hold such a special place in my heart.
thank you for piecing the song together...I like it
Finals coming "Somehow I'll be strong".
My Godness, I have totally fallen in love with voice of Hercules... Absolutely wonderful.
I connect with song and I'm teenager
What's always irritated me with Disney movies is they feel the need to have a "big name" re-do songs like this. They did the same thing with Mulan, but the version in the movie is 100x better.
Wow he can really hold a note, that last 'belong' was incredibly long!
And i love this song!
I find it very inspirational
I absolutely love this song and this is my favorite Disney movie/song. also does anyone else find his voice attractive...just me lol ok
+Eva Grace lol it's Michael Bolton , even I find his voice attractive
Would Percy Jackson be good in this animated style, do you think? :D
Yeah, I think so. As long as no one's calves are gigantic.
Pahaha XD good point.
Disney wouldn't have the guts to make the fifth one properly.
That could actually be pretty cool. Probably anything would be better than the movies we currently have.
heck the 3rd, and 4th get pretty bad too
Such a meaningful and upbeat song about courage. Make my day
Best video for this song. No breaks or talking. My fave.
HE’LL BE MY HERCULAAAAD-
Finally, someone added the other half of the song in! Thank you so much!
The song is beautiful...Case closed. Every Disney movie has at least 1 song that you'll always remember and cherish. But yeah, this song has message, don't give up and keep fighting through life.
[Herculad comment]
HyperKnoedelDoedel haha! woo!
i find this better than michael bolton's version
what a wonderfully sang song.
this is a pure classic.
thank you so much Disney
thank you BILLBOB for posting this fabulous edit
Love. Love. Love this.
Among my favourite animated features, this is.
I still can't believe this is Roger Bart
Right!?!? I saw him in You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, then saw this a few years later thinking, "Why does this sound so familiar?"
Hercules before puberty hit lol
The story is close to the myth or not doesn't matter. What matters is that it's a Disney classic that we will never find again in the present. The songs in these classics like Mulan, Aladdin will never fade...
When was the last time you saw a disney male leading character who sang?
1:45 The Hunchback of Notre Dame??
Wanna hear some hardcore Disney recycling? Go listen to the Festival song from tangled and then listen to the opening of Topsy Turvy from Hunchback. It's the SAME.
Yes!!!
this is my favorite Disney song... it's so unfair it deserves more credit. so does the movie
this songs makes me think a lot about the support my family has given and keep giving to me evry day of my life and makes me feel graceful to that so much :)
It's more based on Superman than actual Hercules, but it's Disney not PBS, so they can get away with it.
This song?? Or the story? I'm so confused. What do you mean?
acdc14terrace the entire story. Except for the names almost everything is incorrect.
Julianne Hannes Disney doesn't try to teach you greek mythology and never pretended to be. They try to tell a good story with a good message.
Yeah besides,Hercules' myth is not appropiate for kids
Julianne Hannes I've heard modern day superheroes are our version of Greek myths so that doesn't surprise me. Although I will say that this movie was what got me interested in the Greek myths and when I read them, was I heartbroken that they were so unlike what Disney portrayed? No. If anything, I wanted to read more because I was so fascinated.
This film has no memorable songs, they say?
It’s upsets me when people say that recent Disney movies are better than this
*Slowly applauds while tearing up* Thank you for posting this without the interruptions to the song, I haven't heard this in years and wanted only the music, and this delivered perfectly.
Better than naruto
Weird comparison, dude o.o
Disney better than any anime
Disney is better than Pixar. Disney used the Pixar brand too much I don't think they wil ever use the disney brand again, I miss the old disney with this kinda abomination and songs....
Corey Messick naruto is anime and its my favorite too

I graduated High school in 1998 and this song was played at the commencement.
One of My Favorite Disney Movies
I also wanna find where i belong because i know it isnt here
A metal concert
