Beautiful. My family was there in September. No snow but we saw the northern lights.
And drove the snowy road you cycled. My son and I talked of coming back to bikepack. This inspires us!

@@Cycling366 It would have encouraged others if you'd mentioned this in the video or beneath it. Having flown Manchester-Oslo-Tromsø myself and seeing you taking a bike for all of four days, my immediate thought was: this fella's got money to burn ...!

I really appreciate the honesty in the couple of your videos I've seen so far. You're totally honest about your minor mistakes and slight misadventures so that others can learn. Like the slog up the farm track or the frozen camelbak.
I've done many cycle trips to the Arctic, and if it's below about minus 10, you either need to wear your camelbak under your jacket or just carry a big thermos. The extra advantage of a big thermos being warm drinks all day long !

A brave venture, given the time of year - and I think you made the best of it, aided & abetted by the magic farmhouse! Serendipity is alive & well in Norway. With me, years ago, it was a tiny log cabin that emerged like a mirage from the horizontal snow, with room for my bike, my shivering wet body and a heap of wood ready chopped for the miniature stove. Ragnarøk was averted that night! When you go back to Tromsø in 24/7 daylight, BTW, the island of Senja is an absolutely jaw-dropping destination, if you want to combine biking & hiking. Every bit as impressive as Lofoten but without all the crowds ...

@@Cycling366 BTW, worth bookmarking for when you're on foreign terrain are the sites howtopronounce and forvo, both of which have audio files. Kvaløya is there, for instance, as is Vågen as a separate place-name element (Whale-Island Bay). Unfortunately, because contributions are not monitored, you do get the occasional spoof performance, like those found on UA-cam's PronuncialManual, which are good for a laugh ... as long as you actually spot them!

That was very brave heading up there in the start of winter! In freezing conditions, I would recommend having the bladder on your back under your jacket. This way it wil not freeze. After each sip, make sure you blow back the water from the tube back into the bladder.

How much money do you think I should bring ? For the ferrys or something? Have you got any good tips for thte trip? I'd like to camp in nature too, if it is not to cold. Do find Hotels or places to sleep in a very short time if it's going to be too cold? You would really help me with this. Beause I could not find any good Forums.

Hello! Thanks for watching :) wild camping is no problem, but it will be very cold. I had an Arctic sleeping bag which was ideal in freezing conditions, definitely bring one if you can. In terms of money, food wasn’t too expensive but I’m not sure about the ferries as I didn’t use any. Hotels were expensive though so camping is a good idea if you have the right gear
