Just ordered this. I hope I won`t be disappointed again because I sure was after playing the first one.
I absolutely LOVE Marco Polo, it's in my top 5 games of all time, and wow, this just looks amazing. I love all the changes they made. I might remain stubborn and hold onto the original, just because, lol. But definitely getting this one!
worth getting both if for no other reason than the leaders from game one can also be used in game 2.

Nice! I loved the first game but got a lot of AP in it..this seems to keep the fun parts but less grinding tight desicions...gotta get this one sometimes :)

Yep, looks like I missed out on that one there. It's a shame because at the end of the game they were really hurting for one more jade. Thanks for pointing this out, I've added a correction to the Klingon subtitles.
Great Playthrough! Do you think that Marco Polo 2 is better than Marco Polo I?
I do prefer 2 to 1, though ultimately I got rid of both from my collection.
At 51:11 isn't that an illegal move? Or black die don't count in the minimum pip requirement?
That move is legal since the first book requires a die of 1 or higher (so any die) and the value of the black die underneath doesn't have any effect.
@40:48, I thought the middle book is die value 3+

Hey Jon! Thank you for the great playthrough! While the game looks amazing I m hearing a lot about the great imbalance of the characters. Do you agree with this and if yes how bad is it? Do you think it can be solved with some rules changes by zman? Thank you!
I hate to say it, but I do fear the character imbalance is affecting my desire for more plays. Some seem about the same but the one that doesn't pay for movement has been SUPER strong in my plays with them. Also the "seals" character isn't necessarily imbalanced but it is super boring to play with.
@@JonGetsGames So I guess I should rethink selling my copy of MP1 for MP2, right?
@@manos2495 It's hard to say really. I would still much prefer to play MP2 vs 1, but I found 1 quite frustrating overall. I do wish the rolls felt more universally interesting. It's hard to make conclusive decisions about balance after only a couple plays but I do also wonder about how some of these are supposed to have similar power levels to others.
