Dwight’s one of my favorites, always dug his sound. His voice is unmistakably unique. There’s too many pretenders in the modern country scene imo, but guys like Dwight Yoakam, George Strait, and Hank Williams Jr are the real deal.

Retluoc, I remember buying Dwight's "This Time" release on cassette in '93 when it came out. Pound for pound, it's right there being his best work, bc every track on this(yes, esp 1000 Mi From Nowhere, Ain't That Lonely, n Fast As You) is outstanding.

Years ago my friend and I saw Dwight at Billy Bob's Texas Country Music Nightclub in the Fort Worth Stockyards, Texas. We were standing on the upper viewing area and it was getting very late then Dwight came out sat on a wooden stool and began with a slower song, don't remember which one. It was so slow we felt sleepy. Then he quickly stood up and kicked that stool sending it flying backwards! Then... Guitars, Cadillacs!! Woke us up!! Awesome! There ain't no country man in this tinseled land... like Dwight for me!
