Console dedicated servers all have aim assist disabled, which is horrendous on a non crossplay game.
This just confirms that battlefront 3 will never happen. This is the most scummy cash grab I’ve seen in a while.
It was never going to happen to begin with, Disney owns the property and if they really wanted to they would have been released a Battlefront 3. So do not expect it to come out in any of our lifetimes.

Battlefield 3 slapped with a SW skin and made by a competent team (!) would make a gazillion dollars but these executives are so out of touch with reality that they don’t even know how to maximize their profits. Helldivers 2 is a gigantic success because the devs listened to gamers and knew exactly what would sell well. It can’t be that hard for a multibillion dollar company like Disney to do the same…

@@Wyr_111 yeah wtf, I just realised it seems that all the cutscenes after each mission are missing. The ones introducing the missions are there I think but I have not gotten a single one after each mission (just compared with a Video here on UA-cam containing all the scenes, for example Obi-Wan and Anakin rescuing the Chancellor over Coruscant. I don't remember getting it when playing earlier today)
4k ai unscaled textures that just make everything look shiny and like plastic. Modders do a better job at enhancing the textures with less resources.

Yup. Called xbox today and demanded even though I had 6 hours on ot. Ovee 10 years I'm an xbox customer and never asked for a refund and they were nice enough to give it up right away

Wasn't obvious to many people including myself. The price was concerning for barely any upgrades so everyone did realize that but we thought the game would actually be good but it's sh*t.

Sadly this seems to be a trend in gaming. Companies saw all the remasters that were happening during the PS4 era and thought they could also do that but cheaply. They're farming out the releases to the lowest bidder and underestimating the amount of effort needed. Games like Warcraft 3 Reforged, GTA Definitive Edition, and now Battlefront. This doesn't feel like a work of passion but more like companies digging though their backlog and looking for an easy buck
StarCraft Remastered had a different source code than the original, making most mods unplayable
Is it the majority of remasters? Capcom with re2 and re4 remake are good games. I've not heard of any glaring complaints with those two. Admittedly re3's remake was definitely a downgrade from my understanding of what longtime re fans have said. It's a small sample size sure but my question is how does a 2 out of 3 compare to other series and remasters.
@@oo-um2dh I didn't mean games like that, those are more of a remake and from a business standpoint obviously have more work. I mean remasters and "ports" to modern hardware. I noticed a lot of companies were doing it in the PS4 era for their PS3 titles. These releases were usually handled internally and had the purpose of acting like a director's cut of the game as the dawn of HD gaming during the PS3 meant more cost was spent on research and asset creation so these rereleases could have more work done on them by the original team. Other companies seemed to think they could do this cheaper and are either having their new teams handle it or they have another company handle the work. Interesting I've noticed these poor remasters are from the PS2 era which probably fueled the corporation to think it would be cheaper

Bugged controls in Republic Commando, bugged dungeons in Kotor, botched launch and unfulfilled cut content deliverance for Kotor 2, and now this? Can we just stop giving old Star Wars games to Aspyr and have Nightdive take over instead?

@@trippiebape I personally loved the weapons and got more used to them and how to utilize them effectively after repeat playthroughs. But I admit it did feel like the ammo capacity could’ve been higher (definitely not as bad as Halo 4’s guns that’s for damn sure).

@@Blanktester685 ammo felt weirdly too limited to me in that game regardless of which difficulty it was. Hence why I brought it up as a comparison. RC to me was limited but only just enough to still get by regardless. Besides it was a squad-based game so I can somewhat excuse it by that metric.

cause in Battlefront 2 the AI didn't spawn heroes, a mod must be installed for that.

That has been an issue since the original release. An issue they should have fixed, mind you, but not a new issue.

Multiplayer having a messy launch is somewhat understandable but the amount of missing content, bugs and glitches in SINGLEPLAYER is insane and completely unacceptable
Its an overpriced cash grab on the name.
They used ai to badly upscale, slapped together the ui and netcode for as cheaply as possible, and pushed it out the door.
Edit: it seems to be dead on arrival anyway, it was 2nd most purchased game on steam prior to launch, behind helldivers 2. Not long after launch it dropped to 23rd most purchased due to refunds and it has yet to enter the top 100 most played games on steam charts.

Honestly my biggest issues I’ve experienced so far are the audio issues regarding volume issues where certain sounds are louder compared to others and the music is non existent. No computer beeps in the menus due to how loud the music is, the loading screen sound in Battlefront 1 needs fixing, and the biggest crime for me, is that Rise of the Empire somehow doesn’t have ALL of its cutscenes. After I finished Mygeeto, I didn’t get the second cutscene, which is BULLCRAP. Combine this with the online lags, and other minuscule things like if you choose the Hero settings in Battlefront 2 to always, and if you click no to save them for later, they disappear and don’t appear at all, like the game ignores your settings and puts them by default, they NEED to fix all of this ASAP.

Thank you for covering this. I thought the 2 minute match problem was me misremembering how the game was supposed to be but thankfully not. Battlefront 2 is literally unplayable, my shots just do not hit at all. I’ve found Battlefront 1 to be ok somewhat. But obviously Battlefront 2 is the one everyone wants to play

I've seen on reddit that someone claimed that Disney had half the cut scenes removed as they aren't considered as cannon anymore. Makes no sense to me.

I encountered a bug that I never saw before in the old batttlefront 2. Randomly when I U-turned the ship would get stuck, just floating in mid air going nowhere, once I pressed the fast turn button again, it got back to normal. This really is a cursed release.
What makes this hilarious is they made this game 20 years ago with no issues. Yet these devs can’t even handle hardware on these platforms for a 20 year old game..shows you how incompetent devs have become,they can’t even launch a game when all the work has already been done for them
Actually, Battlefront II 2005 did had some issues (nothing like these but they were noticable) at launch to the point that the Modding Community (for the PC version) and Microsoft (for the Xbox version) had to step in to fix them since Pandemic abandoned the game

Not to save Aspyr here since everyone that has always knew them for a long time (these guys were behind the Mac ports of so many games, including the (Classic Battlefront Games) and all of them had a lot of issues and problems, that tells you how bad Devs they are) knew that this would happen.

Brother, checj out galactic contention mod for squad. Probably the greatest massive battle sw game you can play now. Huge cool maps, orbitall strikes with ships that come in and bombar, laats that can carry 10 troopers into battle, ground combat with fighters, ships, tanks, speeders. And on and on

Aspyr must be run by incompetent morons, because the formula is extremely simple:
Launch a quality product that captures the nostalgia, and you'll make tons of money. However, release a shitty product that's objectively worse than the original, then expect to make just fraction of the money and have to deal with a mountain of refunds instead.
I have this on ps5 and I’m stuck with it because PlayStation has a refund policy that says you can’t play the game at all if you want to get a refund… I have experienced the audio bugs too and it is near impossible to have fun playing online bc of the problems outlined in this video. I’m also disappointed that the campaign is missing several cutscenes after the missions just like this video points out. I wish I could get my money back but this is a lesson learned. Hopefully the devs will at least do some fixes on the issues

During the hours waiting to join a multiplayer lobby, the fanbase was discreetly transferred back to Steam support. It was a sad trip. We all knew what was about to happen; what we were about to do. Did we have any doubts, any private, traitorous thoughts? Perhaps. But no one was happy. Not on the game reviews. Not on social media. And not when we refunded the game. Not a one.

Also it's sad for me cause I can't get a refund yet. PlayStation is sh*t with support & refunds. I've been on it multiple times & there were 500+ people ahead of me in the queue. Now I tried it again today & it said there were zero agents available. Not even a stupid queue this time.

You almost have to intentionally want this re-release to fail to f*ck up this badly. It would have literally been easier to not touch anything and just reinstate the online servers. The game would’ve sold like hot cakes.
Game studios lately seem to be in some sort of competition to see who can piss off gamers the most lol. It really isn’t that difficult to listen to gamers and give them what they want. Helldivers 2 proves this incredibly well.
I don’t have most of the problems on my PS5. The few bugs i found were the game crashing when searching for hero assault and canceling the search, red textures on Hoth and the game going completely silent sometimes.
It seems with modern games it’s cheaper to let the public test the games instead of hiring testers and then they fix what the public complains about cause this problem is with a lot of games.

I bought the game on steam and refunded it just before the 2 hour mark. Problems were
- no party support
- no voice chat
- terrible servers and hard to play the game mode you want
-couldn’t stay in the same lobby after match ends since it crashes
-super short matches
Something nobody seems to be addressing that is worrying me is that Aspyr ported over the wrong version of Rhen Var Citadel into Battlefront 2. Rhen Var Citadel in BFII is supposed to have broken windows in the temple and a darker colour palette but they've used the Battlefront 1 version of the map instead. I've played the Xbox DLC, it's preloaded in the backwards compatible version of Battlefront II on Xbox. Aspyr got Rhen Var Harbour correct but not Citadel, unbelievable! Somebody needs to bring this to Aspyr's attention.
The fact that this is a literal money printer of a game, and they couldn't even get it right is so sad. I gotta love Disney and the care they put into the games they greenlight.
it really feels like these days, the devs and publishers release games in broken states and rely on the gaming community to game test for bugs so they can put out a patch

I havent even played online but have noticed wierd audio bugs in offline like explosions sounding like blown speakers and they mixed gameplay and 501st cutscenes at completely different decibel levels

This is why no one should pre-order games, even with a discount offered. This situation is way too common of an occurrence to justify it. I personally was burned too many times in the past.
Honestly, the “low effort” was written all over it. No graphical upgrades, few quality of life changes & just a ‘member berry cash grab. If any games deserved a REAL overhaul it was these. They could’ve made them look & play how we remember them instead of how they actually were. The fact that they’re bug ridden & broken too is just the cherry on top.
God I just want a game that has large scale conquests with bots and air to space battles and a galactic conquest that is not plagued or bogged down by the god damn star wars IP.

Aspyr has made an announcement about all the issues revolving around online, servers, bugs etc. They are working to fix it. Can at least give them the credit they are trying. Understandable people are upset but at least they aren't doing A Day Before on us and abandoning ship.

@LHN560 they should get credit for sticking with it. Just as you man I'm super irritated about the problems with this game. It was my favorite 2 games when I was a kid. To see it suffer this bad at launch is tough. But all the problems we have are fixable and they are going to fix it. I agree it should have been that way from the start. But that's games nowadays. The credit they deserve is for not jumping ship and leaving us with what we have. Most studios their size would just quit. I ain't some fanboy either this the only game I've played by apsyr. In addition to all of the issues you noted here, I've noticed on PS5 that online stat tracking is completely broken. No kills or deaths are recorded to your profile and, worse yet, no medals are recorded. That means no trophy/achievement progress is possible online. Not that you really have enough time to really get any medals anyway since the matches on the official servers last three minutes each.

Also what I noticed is that the game is overall set to my native language (German), for example the UI and the "Cutscenes", but as soon as I hope into a level the audio changes to English.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue with different languages (besides German)?
Couple of things I've experienced: First time playing on Both BF1 and BF2 in Multiplayer, the game crashed. On reboot it worked but still hard to connect to an online match. Another thing I noticed was the campaign (BF2)... Single player will take you straight to the action. Playing the campaign in Split screen gives you the classic Star wars intro with the crawl and theme. then the story begins. I really hope they can bring the full story back. lots of audio bugs too and some random spikes/pops at any given time in game.
I play on PS5 and I still have not been able to play online , I get error message or join a game but can’t play
I tried to load my profile in the first Battlefront at the start of the game and it keeps saying "Loading fail"
Also, I was playing Campaign Mode in Battlefront ll and it literally doesn't play the cutscene's after you complete the missions and I got kicked out of the game with an Error.

I’m driving while listening and I literally had to pull over and stop for a second when I heard half of the cutscenes were not there for the campaign… I played the hell out of these games when I was a kid and I have extremely fond memories… so when I heard that…. I’m deeply hurt…

Multiplayer is definitely not the only issues this game has. Single player/offline is an absolute broken unplayable mess as well.

Well hopefully there will be very fast updates but honestly I don't see the game being in a good state even with multiple updates to it. It will be at least a month or two of updates for it to be somewhat stable I would imagine.
SWBF2 has horrible aiming where it's extremely slow even with the maximum 10 sensitivity, audio glitches, visual glitches, menu issues, major extreme control issues which was my biggest issue maybe, lack of settings to improve things, terrible default controls, etc
SWBF1 is in a better state but it's still really bad. It's weird how they screwed up SWBF2 which more people will play but the entire game is sh*t now.
I also would like to know. I have it, and I may not have played long enough, I haven't found any...

Lmao, as soon as this downloaded and I hopped online it played for a good couple of minutes and crashed after lagging, another problem I had with this game is the lobbies would be joinable and it will say that you cannot join it's full, also after the match ends it'll take almost a year to go to the next game💀
Another glitch I was getting was that when I would change my controls, they wouldn't change until I fully closed the game and relaunched and even then I couldn't get Zoom to change (PC)
PSN denied my refund for the digital edition. Absolutely BS
No invert controls option leaves it unplayable for me & tons of others. What a simple thing to over look & leave out.😔😔

another issue i noticed is how long it takes for the tracks to play after finishing in hero assault when trying Mos Eisley. Like maybe 2 minutes of no music, then suddenly Jedi Rock blasts my eardrums, but tried on Coruscant and it seemed to be no music at all, unless funnily i play someone from the era of corusaunt or even mos eisley i played Boba, his theme starts playing, then Emperors them when i play him.

The day we get a good Battlefront launch will probably be on the same day Respawn’s Star Wars FPS releases.
It sucks seeing others having issues with the game and stuff, not being able to play the game properly. Especially when me and my friends aren't experiencing any problems. Hopefully it'll get fixed soon though!
PSA from console players: you can't invert aiming there either. So for us old Xbox players who played with inverted Y-axis, you can't do that with a controller. They managed to get flight AND infantry aiming wrong, which was in the original game, meaning they had to program it OUT of the game. In 2024, missing options this basic is unacceptable.

Never played the original battlefront, so I wanted to buy this and try it out. But I decided to wait until reviews came out just to be safe because of the other Battlefront launches. Glad I did.
We shouldn't have to demand them to "fix" these issues on a launch that was probably anticipated, since it's the 20th anniversary.
Anyone else have control issues? Both keyboard and controller are bugged for me, like crouch not working, and starting to the left not working

The games only 30 GB on PS, it only says 60 on the PS5 because it has 2 versions (PS4/5)
This is why I never preorder games as a rule. I thought about getting it but I remembered we're in the modern gaming era so I lowered my expectations and they were met unfortunately.

I played through 2s campaign yesterday. It has a few bugs itself, at least in my experience. The death star map seems to have a lot of visual issue, hero assault, audio can completely mute and then have loud random crash noises. And the cantina music plays but only here and there. That's all I've played so far. But damn man, I'm scared to try galactic conquest.
As soon as all countries could jam this game in NZ on PS5 it is so unplayable for online. Even Heroes vs Villians offline crashes a lot and I lose lots of audio and have to close the game and reopen. Kinda over this game now which is very sad I was looking forward to this game I loved as a child. Goes to show nothing good comes from Star Wars.

What makes me the most sad is the backlash for this launch might just say to Disney "well I guess they hate Battlefront, no need to do another one" and I'm VERY scared of that reality
I agree it can't be that hard to patch the issues but the campaign and galactic conqust is making feel like a kid again

I'll give Aspyr credit. They waited till Pi Day like a clown just to splat everyone in the face with this one. Except it wasn't funny.
But I noticed that the enemy AI also doesn't choose to be their respective hero in Instant Action, whereas the older versions that were 10 bucks had the AI put up an effort.
