Great for both but dont take the classic line for the topspeakers. They have a cheaper tweeter. I have the krk7's with digital screen in the back. They have a better tweeter. Very clear sound and lots of detail. Also voices are very clear. Next week im going to get a subwoofer to boost the low.(they realy need that)
I have had to return 2 of these in 2 weeks so far. The output to the monitors keep failing at NORMAL volume. Waiting on the 3rd to arrive. Maybe 3rd time is a charm.
3rd one works as long as I run it on a separate output from the monitors. Got a Mackie Big Knob interface and the 8's are on A and the 12 is on B. @@Sk8er4life49
Hi, do you think that for an apartment this might be to much, overwhelming? Don't want my neighbors to hate me lol. I have a pair of KRK Rokit G4 8" and I'm looking for a sub from KRK, but I read some reviews that the S10.4 might be powerful enough for my needs. I thought that 12 would be ideal because I have the G4 8's, but considering it's huge size and weight, I may go for the S10.4. Since you tried it, do you think the S10.4 is also a game changer when mixed with a pair Rokits G4 8 inches?
I'd go the 10.4 of you live in an apartment. I bought the 10.4 to go with my KRK Classic 5's, and I have a 3 bedroom house, and it's insanely loud. You could almost go the 8.4. In saying that, your neighbours aren't going to like you regardless of what sub you get. Lol
10 or 12? I just got the classic 8's theyve really grown on me, I've had to break them in for the day, but they are awesome, have to get the volume up to get the cabinet to sing though.
This thing looks like a BEAST. I currently have the 10 version and even that thing is a beast. However, I owned the older 12" and compared to the new 10" its clear the 10" can't produce those lower notes like the 12". It is loud and impressive sounding tho on the notes that it can play well. But, I'd opt for the 12" it's just better.
Better to measure the frequency response of your 8 inch monitor as it is room dependent, then based on the measurement you can determine the cx frequency and volume
sub crossover frequency should be double the lowest frequency yor monitor can hit. For example if your monitors go as low as 35hz you should set your sub crossover at 70hz (as a starting point).
Thanks for this video! I just went to Guitar Center here in Las Vegas NV and purchased "two" of these 10.4 KrK monitors and I love them for my album recording/songwriting studio. Here is where I also write my movie scripts. I also desire to produce film scores so composing & arranging my musical compositions using "Spitfire Audio's" ALBION ONE, ABBEY ROAD SYMPHONY & BBC SYMPHONIC Libraries will be a wonderful experience using my new 10.4. Believe me this is my first set of subwoofers. I am blown away, and I wanted to be blown away. These give me the encouragement to create my tunes as never before. I do have lower end near fields. The M-Audio BX5. I will be purchasing Barefoot Footprint 01 pair of monitors mix my musical projects soon and donate my BX5 to a start up Black Owned Media/radio company.
Yes sir! Ive got 2 krk 10.4 subs for my recording studio. Im donating my BX5 MAudio to a startup African Owned Media Company. I plan on purchasing 4 barefoot 01 monitors.

You deserve more subs mate… both… subwoofer and subscribers hahaha
Haha! Thanks man, we’re working on it! YT is a grind man! 🤙🤙🤙
I have the 10 and it’s a masterpiece.
How is this for a 2.1ch setup for music and home theatre

Your neighbors will definitely not be a fan. I had little jbl control 1 speakers, and they even hated these! Good luck! 😁

i have too.. thin test 10s :D
Would the krk 8s pair well with the krk 10 inch sub? Or is it necessary to get the 12 inch ?
depends on your room/studio size, s10.4 is loud enough at 20/30% volume
@ngl750k ok thanks
Please do more subwoofer videos
Could u do a next review an it an sound test ??
Hi. Thank you for your insight. I need to connect a 12HO sub to to the LFE OUT from an AVR receiver. Do you know how? Thank you!!
Hey man thanks for the review. Was gonna go for Focal sub one but after I watched this clip I decided on a Krk s12.4.
Have you tried the s10.4 ? I'm debating between the two.
Haven’t tried the s10.4, live in an apartment so haven’t taken the s12.4 to it’s limits yet. There are many other more expensive options.
Thanks for the vid. A test of the linearity across frequency spectrum would have been nice!

What crossover number for 12 inch with 8 inch monitors?
80hz usually
sub crossover frequency should be double the lowest frequency yor monitor can hit. For example if your monitors go as low as 35hz you should set your sub crossover at 70hz (as a starting point).
Can’t decide on this or the Mackie thump powered sub
@@N0ggie so I ended up buying a jbl 715 . Sounds good for my e-drums!!

guess 8,10 or 12" ?
Great review. What does he mean by classic eights? Is this another subwoofer from the KRK range?
He meant krk's classic 8(inch) studio monitors, so not subwoofers
@@RuthlessMonk666 thanks
