Porque no hiciste fuego con las botellas de vidrio transparente, era 100 veces más fácil que todo el trabajo que te llevó el bambú 🤷♂️

"oh its just a shark" 💀this is how you know he is from australia lol
I think the accent made it obvious 😂
Yeah. In America we have to worry about getting shot. Humans in America are more dangerous than any animal. Try camping out in the west side of Chicago.
@@santiagoj516 no shit
"no worries, mate"
i think he was just more stressed it'd be a crocdile
Thanks!
' settle down Mate ' whilst poking him with a spear....😆
😂
hahahahahaha love it
Not sure if you've read "117 days adrift," by Maurice and Marilyn Bailey, but most of their rehydration came from fish and/or turtle blood. Any fish they caught, was bled and they drank the blood. They also sucked the fish eyes. General rule of thumb is, if it bleeds, you have a source of rehydration. Not much, but every bit helps. The Baileys had a post incidence assessment, and generally speaking, their bodies were ok, and all bits were functioning normally. Thank you for sharing. Take care.
That’s awesome information. Problem with this is that there is a boat nearby with food and water. Changes everything when you can make a call
middle finger
@@TheFloridian5 not really a problem. He was able to give a basic understanding on survival. In that particular location. However in a real case, you cannot "forget" about your fish you've caught, and let the sharks get it. It was important to show his viewing audience the basics of survival. For the purpose of the exercise, not catching and drinking the blood, could have been a bad mistake. Yes as you say there would have been help available, out of camera shot, with available water etc. Thank you for your response to my comment.
fish and turtle blood would dehydrate you more then rehydrate you due to the high conten of salt in it
This is entrainment and filming what looks cool. This is the OPPOSITE of what ud want to do in real survival. I love his videos but this should absolutely NOT be followed in real survival. Spending all day playing around getting dehydrated while hunting for food while you have zero water? His first 2-3 days should have zero focus on food until there's water secured and hot days spent trying to minimize sweating and dehydration. Again, this is just entertainment for people who will never see an island like this in their life. Great filming M8!
the look on his face while eating that raw fish head was priceless.
You was pretending is bullshit, you
You stepping right over top a snake to chase that little stingray had me freaking out.
The last thing you do is tell a crab you need him for food, He's never going to want to go with you then. LOL
Hahaha 😅 funny 🤣🤣
LOL, but it makes the go into fight mode, not flight mode, those buggers don't turn down a challenge.
Now here’s something fun: When you, Jack, are with Fran the two of you are busily interacting intensively with each other. When you are doing one of these survival adventures, other aspects of your personality reveals themselves. While you are always pleasant, these solo adventures allow your sense of humor to come dramatically forward - you’re as charming as usual, but solo really shows how clever and humorous you are.
This isn’t a negative comment on Fran, she’s lovely and charming in her own way. It is cool to have your narrative shared between just yourself and the camera.
Thanks for your videos, they are grand. Cheers …
Best survival video...spear hunting...crab wrestling, shark stalking and best way to rehydrate and keeping it moving😂
With baitfish, they blindly swim head first in the direction opposite of the slightest movement. Use that to your advantage. Stand still, throw a rock just to the other side of the school, and then use some sort of bucket or bottle or hat to quickly scoop the water when they inevitably come barreling toward you.
I might be across the globe (FL, USA) but it doesn’t stop me from experiencing these challenges through your channel. Thanks for the great educational content
I did 21 days in the Everglades. Zero desire to ever go back 😂. Florida is legit a terrifying wildlife place. Everything kills you bites you stings you etc on par with Australia for creepy critters. Those Everglades was a challenge I’ll never ever repeat. I did 40 in Botswana - felt much safer in Africa for some reason .
Watching you shaves the bamboo makes me pull my hair remembering those dried coconut fibers you left behind. 😵💫
The man is a crab's worse nightmare! 🤣
But hey fair enough, better than buying it at the super market! Lovely video, I not only love outdoors but also started playing Sons of the Forest, keep getting flashbacks watching this 😜
To WHOM do you say all the time WE, WE, WE....
DO YOU HAVE HALLUCINATIONS 😂😂😂
It's really scary when you are stranded alone and get lightheaded. If you pass out, there's no one to help you out. The lack of shade on that island is really rough during hot times, you needed to make some sort of shade. A good thing to do is make a trench in the dirt and cover it with leafy branches. Being down in the earth will be cooler just naturally, so you just have to block the sun.
and there where even green branches everywhere..
How would this work in the artic.. plentyfull of freshwater but with a knife and spear.. I would constructed a bow..and have firesteel with me :)
Doubt he is entirely alone
I’m thinking to myself I wish you had some shoelaces😂 41:58
I always watch your vids with a huge glass of ice water handy 🤣 every time you say you thirsty I take a big drink 😮😭
56:02
To Burn the GLASS...???😂😂😂😂😂😂
I love watching survival shows. When I was younger a small group of us used to camp about a week at a time by rivers in WV that were miles away from where we’d park.
I love watching survival shows. Bear Grylls of course being one of the first to watch, and I like Naked and Afraid when they are in groups.
But what’s interesting about yours is how you tell a story about people who survived a wreck and then recreate the scenario and tell the story as you go.
Awesome to watch!
i need you man.
i need your food 😂
12:34 I can not have been the only one to see that??
I was just about to say 💀
@ thought I was going crazy lmao
See what? All I could see was a little sting ray😢
The most Australian phrase ever: "It was just a shark, I was worried it would be a croc"
Hey mate, love your videos but just a future tip for you about getting mud crabs easier when they are in water is use your shirt so when they grip you lift and grab their flippers then you’re solid mate, next challenge is making him let go😂
Hey Back 2 Basics Adventures, I'm also a hunter and catch many species like fish, crabs, monitor lizards, pigs,... in the forest where I live, but I've never seen big animals like in your videos, really. very interesting, thank you for sharing, I love you ❤
Watching a survival challenge whilst living my own on the hard shoulder of English motorway 😂
it's just a shark, I thought it was a croc there.
I was thinking the same thing, fella lol.
Not hardly but I feel u
@@MGeezydaWarrior meh u know what I mean don't need to play scarface 🤣🤣🤣
Brothers, are you guys forgetting that the shark can't come out the "wadd-da" like the crocodile can??😮Will chase ya all day and night on the island.😅😂😊
Crogs are more dangerous compare to a shark. They are also more likely to attack you compare to a shark
Absolutely love this channel mate!! I've been binge watching all weekend !! Im a sucker for anything survival related, keep up the excellent work!!! Cheers from the USA!!!
Fill salt water half way (evaporates faster without overflowing) and make shade for collection bottle :)
your abillity to miss static target and hit moving targets always seems to amaze me
I've been pondering about a bushcraft still for a while now, n the major challenge has always been the condenser (the cooling pipe). Always thought you would have to be very lucky to find enough metal pipe to make it work. I've done a few experiments, and it takes a few metres to radiative cool steam. But using wet bamboo to evaporavely cool, very nice solution. File that one away in the "hope I never need to use, but glad to know" pile
Jack,
You are a hardcore adventurer! I love it! Keep putting out the great content mate! I can’t wait till next week to watch another episode.
Stay safe and well?

Giant crab. I love nature.
more night shots would be great :D as someone who has only lived in the city who really cant see much of the stars, I can only imagine how bright and many they are when looking at them from isolated islands/places like this without light pollution.
Totally hear you, i lived in the city in Australia, now i live rural, the difference is AMAZING.
Those subtitles had me LOL Thanks! Such an interesting story
- 12:27 .. I would've snagged that stingray. I mean, I could eat several of those crabs alone with corn && potatoes && Cajun seasoning. So, yah deff *need* much more food my friend.
they only eat the claws, where you going to get the corn and spices from... he is only showing what you can do, that is why, like all their videos, they don't kill everything in sight, take only what you need, leave the rest for the next person in your situation.
47:50 bro you were flagging. Well done on the still.
I'm so glad you have used distillation... I keep thinking its the obvious solution
Distillation/Solution. Intentional pun? Either way, it made me chuckle😂
I give you a tip how to generate a big stream of smoke that can be seen from 1-2 miles far away, just nip or cut a bundle of a green leaf then put on top a burning fire it will produce a ton of white smokes that can be seen miles away.
Hey guys. Thanks for taking us along for your adventures!
If i was there anything thats moving and its a source of a food i will take it when it comes in survival situations🤣
thanks Jack- i really enjoyed this episode- more like it-especially with some Australian survival stories would be awesome- loved the distillation this episode-yehh science Mr White...
so, if it comes to it again, and you find 2 bottles of different sizes, you can break/cut them into "bowls" place one inside the other fill the larger one with sea water and place a shirt or piece of plastic over top with a rock in the senter, over the smaller "bowl" this will allow the water to evaporate from the sun leaving salt (another important survival material) in the large "bowl" and fresh water in the smaller one, it is slow, and gives parely enough water unless you have a significantly large set of bowls, but it is better than nothing. also glass can be knapped to make a spear or knife in an emergency.
You should always have a small, waterproof, emergency kit which includes tools to make fire. Even Ötzi had that with him 5,000 years ago, although you did well with what you had.
Right!? I always carry 2 knives and 3 lighters and a little magnesium rod with flint WHEREVER I go.
@@bigboss-tl2xr They are extremely isolated where they go.
@@Agent-kb3zbExactly, so am I, that's why the redundancy on fire starting.
@@bigboss-tl2xr Redundancy? He had nothing, not a single thing, packed with him on the beach to make fire. He made fired by rubbing two sticks together. He should always keep a small pack of survival gear in the boat or with him when he camps on the beach.
@@Agent-kb3zb Well no, he didn't, but that's part of his show, to recreate the situation as it occurred in the past. I, on the other hand don't even go to the grocery store without 2 knives and 3 lighters 😂
Can't stop watching your videos! I love watching them.
I love your steel, great idea great job and those crabs man. Try dehydrating the salt water to get you some salt to season them with and maybe some butter lol.
This was so educational. Thank you. This videos valuable knowledge could save your life. (Larry, Colorado USA)
10:46 nice !!!!!!! 👌
Man....in this hundred degree Florida heat, I need like a gallon of water a day!
Hopefully the cleaners will get there ASAP and get rid of some of the plastic detritus. Very enjoyable vid :)
You can use the backside of that knife (the spine) to create those fine shavings. around @39:40. keep the sharp side of the knife good. in a survival scenario that sharp edge of the knife is the only ting going to keep you alive. Both processing meat to defending yourself.
WOW,I want to have a life like yours, in my hometown there are no islands, I wish you good health.
With a spear, aim where the fish *will be,* not where the fish is. Anticipation is key
Thanks for sharing the tips Stricks, merry xmas, Stay safe have fun! 🎅🏽🎅🏽🍻🍻👌👌
Water in that glass bottle plus the sun is a good way to start a fire (I’m sure you know but just in case someone reading this didn’t)
Bruh you are the man! That engineering education tho. How many times did your education save your butt out in the Basics?
Thanks for the kind words mate, appreciate that.
The engineering definitely comes in handy out here sometimes!
@@BacktoBasics theres gotta be a kit to buy like that somewhere, Thank you for the content even in the wild you manage to produce top notch content! See you next week
I like how you experiment with all different kinds of techniques, love your videos keep going!! Thanks :)
I'm new to your channel and one of your Instagram post showed up in my feed. Just finished watching this episode and I absolutely enjoyed watching. You gotta love when the social media algorithm does it's job and shows you content like this. I subscribed and look forward to watching all your other videos. Was anyone else really happy and excited when he got the fire going!? I sure was!!! Actually gave me bit of happy chills 😊. 🙂👌👍
Love you HOmelander!!!!
The survival episodes with backstories are the best ones
He’s full of bullshit
@@petrulup-st6mkwhy are you a miserable prick? Just move along tough guy
@@petrulup-st6mkYeh? Hell of an entertainer though😊
22:49 When that shark was flappin dude, what was the thing it swam past, it looked like a Crocs noggin sticking out the water, surveying the land as they do, either that or a rock maybe, sure you would of seen it if it was a croc so must o been a rock mate aye...
We always carry a plastic bag with use to harvest water from tree's .in case we get lost.there was a blue bucket with you it would have been a good idea for you to use the bucket to put at least the crabs in to stay fresh so you don't get food poisoning you do have some interesting ideas.
You don't get food poisoning that fast, this was basically 1 day, even 2 you are fine if you have them in shade.
Its literally crazy how many times he keeps saying he needs water and then doesn nothing to make it happen, just keeps hunting. Water is always your number one priority. Always.
He says he wants to try and see how much time he can go without water, thats why he doesnt make it happen
Hello from San Diego California USA 🇺🇸 love seeing u guys every Sunday please be safe n wear ZINK HAHAHHA❤❤❤❤❤
Lol the spanish version. Oh vamos vamos vamos.
Lots of reasonable survival food😁
This vid has a way more tense energy. It's pretty neat.
28:15 my grandma is blind in one eye and even she could make that shot bro😂
New subscriber here from India. Awsome content...keep it up bro❤❤
Surprise! It's actually Fish and Game and they're going to cite you for using a spear on the island! LOL. JK. Thank you for the tips. It's quite surprising to know there could be fresh water in bottles along the beach!
Lmao watching you eating that raw shark chewed fish carcass
Hey🤗Jack!! Dude, did I miss something or did you address that inside core section of the bamboo between the glass bottles?? The vape would be blocked wouldn't it? Let me know, please would ya?🤔 Memphis,10🇺🇲
Wahhh..!! Cool 👍🏾👍🏾
Maybe it’s a dumb question but when you cook a mudcrab in its own shell, is the juices you get from eating/drinking that mudcrap also a form of hydration?
Love your videos! Such a positive outlook on life and having fun while doing it. So cool.
Just here trying to scratch the itch. It’s been tough since field days had his kid 😂
I would get more Night/Star shots.. Everywhere else has so much light pollution you cannot see that much.. Amazing.. MORE STARS!!!! lol
Struck you’re an animal. Loving this content. Cheers from Key West Florida
sun so hot on that day i woulda shaved some fluff of them shorts you where wearing and used the sun and glass bottle or plastic bottle with water to magnify suns rays ... but then im not as energetic or fit as you lol also i have never seen that bamboo fire meathod thingy!
Wow so amazing fishing ❤❤😮
Hey just wanted to give you a tip, try digging holes in a straight line just before the wet sand ends going towards the dry sand and wait a few hours atleast three and you should have clean water but if it's still salty dig more holes in the same line
Lol..."It's only a shark"...
Crocks be worse mate, they be water and land hunters lol.
Not me man! LOL Thank you
So you would have definitely died in that island in a real survival situation bahaha 😂
SNAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 12:34
Next time your catching a mud crab try throwing a handfull of mud in there eyes that way they can't see you coming it makes it a lot easier
show more of the food eating please!!! A lot of us watch these for that reason
Mangrove Snapper are good eating for sure, I catch them all the time in Florida.
Amazing video! could watch these all day
Another excellent episode!! Keep it coming - love watching your videos!! Btw, what brand is your dark sunglasses! They’re cool!! Thx from NJ USA
Australia really is a spectacularly beautiful place.

Great content. No doubt your a master of your craft. Stay safe.
Trying to capture food while also avoiding becoming food 🤣😂
❤I’ve come up with a neat recipe for you to try. Batter recipe: Idahoan original mashed potato flakes; little baking powder; salt; flour; and your favorite beer.❤🎉cheers mate❤
Love this series
I've waited too long greetings from Indonesia
hi i have a question
ofc i'm not a expert and im also not experienced in hunting, so excuse me if my thought process is wrong, but im just interested as to why you're not hunting the stingrays too, arent they edible?
because i feel like they'd be much easier to hunt than going for a fish that moves around the whole time since the stingrays are mostly just sitting there in the water up until you touch them (so you could just pin them down with your spear or something and kill them)
Jack mentioned in other episodes that it's a possibility (and caught one) but he varies his survival techniques on different episodes.
@@wertw120 Oh alrighty, thank you for telling me that
i was a bit confused :p
