Old mate flying those sling loads in at 12:30, beautifully done, totally at one with his machine and the load hanging below 👌

I have actually met and flown with Bruce Harvey, hell of a good fulla, he was one of my dads instructors that taught him to fly, my dad might also be the one flying at 2:23 - 2:26 as he did a good amount on flying in the 22 and 500D's during that era

Is there any way you could reupload the ch-47d academics videos? Or would you possibly mind sharing? I am currently a 47 driver and loved having those videos for reference. Thank you so much

Thanks for the video. Still wouldnt fly in a Robinson or any other two bladed chopper. Reading about Robinsons and all of their belt system failures, engines overheating, rods thrown, valve issues, carb icing, magneto issues and then there is mast bumbing and tail strikes. Too much goes wrong with them.

Spencer Bowers company had in excess of 40000 hours in them and no mechanical issues to speak of. I could be wrong but I think he is the highest hour'd Robinson pilot in the world so should know what he is talking about. Few people in the video not with us anymore.

The r22 might be reliable but it is not safe just look at the statistics in nz this is mostly due to the fact that so many people try and fly it outside its performance envelope .

You can thank Dave & Don Hillberg for the Hivis paint scheme of the Robinson tail rotor
While working at Hiser Helicopters the yellow tipped black paint of the tail was hard to see, So The Hillbergs painted them like the civil Bell tail rotors. Floyd Hiser like the ability to better see that tail so he had then all painted that way
When Robinson called for why did you change the color scheme? Floyd said "Run it up and tell me"
Then did and now all Robinsons got the black and white tail rotor blades.
