- ORIGINALLY FOUND ABANDONED IN AUSTRIA IN 1945,SHIPPED TO THE USA WHERE IT SUBSEQUENTLY APPEARED IN HOGANS HEROES AND A FEW OTHER WAR MOVIES LIKE NIGHT OF THE GENERALS,THE VEHICLE ...ONE OF ONLY FOUR SURVIVORS ...WAS SUBSEQUENTLY AUCTIONED IN THE 1990S..ITS CURRENT WHEREABOUTS IN 2020 MAY SURPRISE YOU..........LEICESTERSHIRE IN THE UK!!!!

apparently Kevin Wheatcroft, now age 60 first saw a G4 for auction when he was aged 5, ex hitler parade car, he asked his millionare dad to buy it, he refused, and 5 year old kevin cried all the way home....move forward in time quite a few years and he now has one!!!!!, its not known the price paid tho...but it must have been a good one to outbid mercedes !!!!

@@WW2GERMANMILITARIA123 probably, whatever he paid is now "the going price" if another comes up for sale...back in 2009 three were offered for sale in the US for 9 million dollars, but they were proven to be fakes with nothing mercedes about them..
Wouldn’t like to be in the buyer’s shoes who bought the fakes... lovely merc tho 1Million easy i was watching combat dealers few months back and a guy had a so called AH merc in his barn don’t know if it was original mind ..🤘🏼🏴👍
@@WW2GERMANMILITARIA123 according to the wheatcroft collection that merc is currently in berlin undergoing restoration, an AH merc sold for $7.8 million a few years back so i reckon the wheatcroft G4 would be worth a similar amount......its a rarer vehicle survivor wise.

The Mercedes was featured in an episode of Combat Dealers, with Kevin showing quite a few of it's details..
according to a post made by the wheatcroft collection 28 weeks ago, its stated the one featured in combat dealers is not the same vehicle, they go on to say the vehicle featured in combat dealers is in berlin undergoing restoration.

@@Metradio the mystery deepens!!!!..it was known that there was two on the movie circuit in the USA, with rumors of another G4 in Canada and a further one in the Ukraine, so oficially theres 4 known examples, with a possible further 2 ...but...in a youtube video theres some bloke in russia whos built his own version, and the canada one may be one of the three fakes offered in 2009 at auction.....so one never knows, the wheatcroft collection is currently rebuilding a massive mercedes 770k cabriolet and a Tiger tank..so in a few years time there could be two Tigers running in the UK...the tank museum one and the wheatcroft collections.

night of the generals (1967)...get smart tv series,star trek original tv series.....bionic woman tv series...12 o clock high tv series. tobruk movie..rat patrol tv series....raid on rommel film.......theres also another g4 in the USA built in 1934 which has had film and tv appearances...so curently theres one original in USA, one original in the technik museum ger,many...one original in spain in the hands of francos family (a gift from hitler for assistance during the spanish civil war) and the hogans heroes one in the UK..............there are a couple of repros in the USA including a van version and a repro in russia.
I remember watching "Hogan's Heroes" and noticing this car.

Once again i search for a ww2 item and one of you vids come up.You get around CJ! I Wanted to turn a toy metal car " alcohol decanter actually " into a german staff car. Painted it german helmet gray ,and was looking to see if they put the panzer cross on the sides. Strange,
the only staff cars I see online with the CROSS emblem are this car " hogans hero's" and Lego

One at Sinsheim in Germany, one in California at Lyon Air Museum, one in Spain in royal collection, and this one in UK.
I think the one at the Lyon museum is a replica..one of two repro g4 passenger cars and a g4 repro van which surfaced for auction in the usa some years ago and failed to sell....in one of the Lyon museums background photos can be seen the repro g4 van as no originals survive.
I wouldn't just drive it to the Pub. Every time the sun came out so would the car. I would get as many people as I could get seated in it and take it out.
