What I love about this level is that the game has the final boss, the final boss on hard mode, the powered up version of the final boss and then the powered up version of the final boss on hard mode. With 1 ring, super high health, extreme defence, more attacks and not to mention an extremely high power level very early on in the fight, this is basically the already hard final boss with the difficulty multiplied by 4. It would have been cool if on the last round his power level rose to 1,000,000 for when he does his huge laser attack.

This is what the final world should've looked like, because if we're in a eggman facility made to extract the energy of the world (Dat green goo) it makes sense that that's what you see flowing... not some NSMB lava.

The fact that the wisps are even utilized in the boss fight is pretty dope as well! Too bad that they aren’t really a part of the story. They have a really cool role in this boss fight and throughout the game.
Love how it also kinda references The nega wisp armor fight. Just like the armor Eggmans mech uses wisp abilities and then as you damage it the wisp are freed and provide support.

The joke is that the fight is actually pretty long, hard and well-designed if one doesn't charge the homing attack. That ability should have just been disabled during this. Edit: Or during all boss fights, actually. It breaks the difficulty a lot.
As cool as this version is, who would’ve loved to see the final boss actually be Tails but he truly was corrupted to be Zavok’s slave and Sonic actually had to work with Eggman to stop him?

I don't think Eggman is somehow in pain Maybe it's because he may not only want to free himself from his own madness, as you said, but he probably also knows this is going to kill him sometime so he is a bit scared. I mean, there is no reason for him to be in pain or to want to die. And those more "sad" parts are probably supposed to fit the tension of the final fight Or at least the tension it was supposed to have

The normal one is far too easy Also how do you get past the tropical coast boss? I beat it and nothing happened. Do I need a certain rank to proceed with the rest of the game?

Also now I use it to replay older games(All the games I have have been ported to the switch just not paper Mario, and super Mario 64 ds, Super Mario 3D world is getting a remake. Nintendo land was my favorite for its vast game majority, I still have a older wii. The Wii u and 3ds will always be in my childhood.

Not sure about the 3ds version, but on the wii u version you need a certain amount of flickies to unlock some levels.
