IN my opinion here is why he is so unstoppable if the refs allow any player to dribble like he does then the defense has no chance he or many others lke him have mastered the technique oif the "legal" carrying / palming violation the refs could call it every time but that would ruin the game so he is allowed to in effect cheat there is no defense for a player who appears to pick up his dribble but then continues if the defender steps up he will just drive by if the defender plays the drive he will just shoot the defender is frozen he is just the latest in a long list of guys who are allowed to get away witht it it ruins the spirit of the game always has and always will as you know big big money is on the line so the rules are bent/ broken I am 66 and when I played in the schoolyard in the 1970's this was called palmimg everytime so no one did it everyone knew it was illegal@@Mario-su1jz

'Tiny' Archibald was unguardable as well, he could rain deep J's in your face and/or blow right past you. I believe one year he led the league in scoring 28pts and assists 12. Those might not have been the exact numbers but both were double figures and he rarely said a word. JB is like those two greats to me. They are three players that not even Jordan would want to attempt to guard. However it happened the Mav's messed that one up.

The league is favoring the offense more that's why we have more players averaging 30+ points per game. They're still calling the rip through foul, the take foul gives more transition points, the foul on landing area makes the defender scared to get close to their opponent.
@@petertheawesome1 nothing I said is specific to Brunson. Across the board, I just think everyone would be happier with those getting no calls rather than fouls. If anything, Brunson is one of the very best examples of players who get their points in a way that would make the bball gods proud. Minimal shenanigans, no flopping, doesn’t collapse on the ground like Embiid, doesn’t really travel, doesn’t carry too much (another incredibly annoying rule in 2024).
