When I was 10 I threw out the first pitch at Fenway. They were doing a baseball equipment donation at each gate and I donated a glove, a guy at the box pulled me and my mom aside and told me i was going to throw the first pitch. I assume they did it to your ball but it was engraved with my name, the date, and "ceremonial first pitch"". I did throw off the rubber but didnt make it to home plate but got it in there in one bounce. One thing I remember is I threw it to the bullpen catcher they never gave me a choice to throw it to anyone and being 10 and having 30,000+ people cheer was a surreal experience
Nice video Matt. Perhaps you can do a separate video to tell more about that first day at San diego. Didn't know you get to throw the first pitch that day. Tell us more.
"He's (Freese) the best player on the team. Too bad they traded him." The perils of being a Padres fan. 🤣 I still love them though. Awesome stories Matt. Love the channel.
Dirk Hayhurst did say that you loved fast food in "Out of My League". Guess it is true! I like the Outback too. Try the "Texas Roadhouse". It's even better!
Bloomin’ onion, over slought valia...whata pissa! Gawd love ya! Check out giraffe neck mahk’s video on the worst picks of the 2020 first round. I love that video and watch it 3 times a day.
19th round probably happened because the teams did not think you would sign for 5th round money and go to college. Happens every draft several guys slide because of this.
I have a question. Let's say you are in your Sr. year of University. You get drafted in whatever round - let's say the 1st round. What happens if negotiations break down and you can't come to an agreement? If you don't sign, you don't play, but do you wait a year and enter the draft again? Is that how it works?
If you play for an NCAA college are you only allowed to hire an agent after you're drafted? I know they have very strict rules about that kind of thing.

“They weren’t cheering when I hit 200”😂😂
They mentioned you during MLB’s game of the week yesterday.
He was on the live commentator panel in chat.
That David Freese story is crazy, he's one of my favorite players ever and definitely one of my heroes for that 2011 season
"I value my college education." What a legend!
So go to college to come out in debt no thanks unless your a doctor, lawyer, or anything in the medical field it's pointless
You should do a video on What a rookie should do with his signing bonus. or what should Francisco and Fernando do with Huge contracts.
Love your videos Matt. As a former player through college I really appreciate all of these stories. So interesting.
With their first pick in the 2021 MLB Draft...the Chicago White Sox select...Video Game Matt, Peabody, Massachusetts.
I found your rookie card at my local card shop the other day. Definitely added that to my pc.

Godbless man your the goat coach Antonelli
I like that you’re humble enough to give praise to other players who you were competing with
Best underated endorsement for outback on UA-cam!
This video could double as Matt's audition to be a third base coach.
I really enjoy these videos.
These story videos are the best!
I saw you on MLB Game of the Week for Creator Spotlight!
Great video as always man!

Speaking of first round picks, BULL DURHAM was the first time I ever heard the term 'bonus baby'.
Woody Williams was so fun to a watch

These are awesome
Who drafted you out of high school.
I was wondering for so long what happens to a player when they get drafted
It is likely real steak at Outback. Hahaha.
It's done pretty much the same way these days, at least with the Mariners.
Hi Matt!
Hello! 👋
I forgot piazza played for the Padres 😂
Should’ve celebrated at the Kawloon

God damnit I need a bloomin onion now
You know, nobody in Australia has ever heard of a bloomin' onion. It's 100% an American creation.
hey man how hard should a 14 year old be able to hit a baseball?
he’s funny
I know what happens when you don’t get drafted
You go to The HOF.
End of story.
I wish!
@@AntonelliBaseball 😏 😉
I was a bit confused about what you received after you were drafted the second time. Was it $30,000 or was it much higher?
The Padres offered him 30k under what that draft spot was projected. it was still around $1,500,000
@@21grand15 Wow, thanks...
@@21grand15 So about $750k after taxes and agent fee
Didn't cheer for you while hitting .200? What's wrong with people? LOL Give them a bat and tell them to have at it!

...big money happens. Hey Matt, when are you gonna start earning that money?
