Other than being a Namco game, this was unrelated to Dig Dug. It was actually released before Dig Dug II, and it was the first in its own series, the Babylonian Castle Saga, featuring Gilgamesh, Ki, and their descendants.

I once attempted a guided playthrough, but failed early on. Too hard for me this one.
