Hey Tom, I think you should check out Puzzle Agent. It's a point and click puzzle game by Telltale games with great atmosphere and even some nice spookums, pretty much everything what The Riddlebros are about. I think you and Simon would love it!
Thing about the NRQZ is, you'd actually be more likely to have wired internet than you would to have a working cell phone. Directional cell services (which aren't banned in most of the Zone) are uncommon and expensive, but there's nothing stopping anyone from having cable.
Can confirm smacking plasma tv is a good idea. Knocked one off the side about a year ago and it went all fucky, tried it the other day and was still broke, hit it hard in the centre as i was gonna bin it anyway and its now perfectly working.
I don't think the developer of this game is old enough to remember the early 2000s. Smart phones and TVs like that didn't exist and thumb drives couldn't hold hours of video footage, they were only like 32MB.

Fantastic game, especially since the main game is multiplayer and you can play that part together. I still can't believe they messed up the enemy grabbing mechanic... you just have to hold down the right mouse button and you messed it up Tom.
