To be frank, it's not difficult to demolish these Tory ministers - Yvette Cooper is miles ahead of them intellectually and morally. She has more integrity in her little finger than the whole Tory party combined.

Im glad the wider electorate are starting to notice Yvette Cooper’s insane talent and expertise. She has worked tirelessly. She deserves to be Labour PM. In PMQs she would be an absolute force. She’s well used to wiping the floor with Braverman etc its her time. Its long overdue!

Home office needs an overhaul to deal with such as asylum cases efficiently and make decisions on individual applications swiftly.

@@moonshine9902 I think (personally) Starmer is better in this point of time. It is politics, you need to get as much voters to vote for you as possible (FPTP), that means you need former conservative and don't know voters. Labour will win with a landslide.

Yvette Cooper uses facts, not deflection, to get her points across. She is straight talking and gets to the point making it clear that the tories are still trying to be underhanded with this so-called deal. She still talks about the massive tory made backlog of asylum seekers - something that is costing this country (we tax payers) millions of pounds every day yet the tories have seemingly forgotten this ongoing and increasing catastrophe. Yvette Cooper would make a great leader, IMO.
But she failed to stop Blair when he flung open the floodgates in 1997,...we'll get ships direct from Africa with insane Labour.

Why isn't Yvette our Prime Minister? Every time I see her she is well honed on policy, knowledgeable on very up-to-date information and able to make it sound clear and effortless.

She is much better in a supporting role. We do not have an American system. The PM does not make all the decisions, it's a party rule. I like the fact that Starmer has a good team around him, directly supporting him. As the face of the party he is just fine.
@@MsMoople absolutely agree. Many PMs were just not true leadership material, but were outstanding ministers. Finding the blend in any leadership is the true skill of a good leader. They themselves don’t have to be the most incredible at all skills.

Well she has every right to look on them with disgust. The idea that the only thing keeping an evolved democracy like the UK government from dumping asylum seekers in RWANDA of all places, is the government of Rwanda's "unwillingness" to break international law, is disgusting and laughable at the same time. Rwanda is currently backing rebels who've committed war crimes, including sexual violence, in the DRC! The whole place is a poverty stricken hell hole, where there's no freedom of the press and the majority of all wealth and mineral resources in the country is controlled by a small elite. That this is the places where they want to send people trying to flee conflict areas for a better life, is frankly appalling.
Cooper would be a far more effective leader of the Labour Party than Starmer. Better speaker, much more intelligent and actually seems to have some principles.

A senior Conservative MP, Jonathan Gullis was quoted yesterday as saying he would like a new Home Secretary and that it should be Herr Farage. I have some very good news for him, at least in part. He will very soon get his wish and we will indeed have a new Home Secretary. The bad news for Mr Gullis however is that it will be Yvette Cooper in the job and frankly this cannot come soon enough
