+Rabid Rabbit Rabbi we thrash and death metallers are a dying breed... it's all core shit now.... I'm one of the exceptions beeing a young death and thrash fan...
David Olsen I assure you we're not a dying breed at all. It may look that way from a younger person's perspective, but metal is one of the most diverse and changing music genres out there. Sure, you won't find as many people that ONLY listen to thrash metal or death metal anymore, but that's because there are so many more types of thrash mixed with other genres that it's easier for someone who really REALLY likes thrash to slowly start to appreciate other forms of metal as they get older and eventually stop identifying as JUST a thrash metal head, but a metal head in general. I'm saying all this as a person who was once young like you and had the same thoughts as you. I even had older people tell me the same things I'm telling you. But let me once again assure you: Metal is as alive and thriving as much as it ever has been. And I'd argue it's thriving much more now that so many people are exposed to so many different types of music the genre has to offer.
Well i'm not "only" a thrash and death guy, i'm probably one of the most diverce listeners out there because i am a musician myself. I listen to reggea, metal in allmost all forms, rap, hip hop, some types of house, world etc etc, the list goes on, what i meant to say is that thrash and death is my "hometown" if you will, my "go to". I can listen to anything depending on the mood and setting, but thrash and death is a constant for me. But as a member of a death/thrash band and knowing alot of people in the same bizz, death and thrash seem to have a tougher going than most other bands (the upside beeing that the fans you get are fucking unreal ones). Ofcourse this probably varies from place to place but in Norway, where i live it sucks...
+Rabid Rabbit Rabbi They're one of my favorite modern thrash metal bands, too. They're currently touring with Megadeth, so they should gain a pretty large fanbase by the end of the Dystopia tour. In fact, I saw them just two days ago; I took pictures with the whole band. The guys are so fucking amazing. It was such a pleasure to chat with Reece as well.
Hats off to the lead guitarist, totally inspired by Dimebag and does a damn good job. This band has soul to it, a lot of new thrash is so robotic sounding.
'Totally inspired by Dimebag'? I don't see why you say that as the guitar solos are different. Havok's guitarist does a lot of sweeps and tapping. Dime plays a lot of legato and does some 'atonal' licks. The only similarity I see is the tremolo bar effects.
***** 17:04 7:51 if you need explaining for those solos, then i question your judgement. BTW dime plays a lot pentatonic with vibrato, not just legato.
I don't need explaining for those solos. I know Dime plays Pentanoics with vibrato, but I also know that EVERY GUITARIST EVER uses Pentonics with vibrato. I never said he just uses Legato. I'm just curious, do you play guitar?
Alex G Were not on about the legato sound, were on about the guitar technique 'legato'. It just means using hammer ons and pull offs instead of picking each note. I'm rather surprised you didn't know what we are talking about to be honest. It's one of the more popular techniques.
*listening and headbanging* >paused at 42:32 just after that heavy wall of shit from the drums >looked at my brother >both of us slowly noded >kept on listening
@@umeshpatel3606 I've been listening to Evile for several years. You're a little late to the party! Lol - yeah, they're awesome. Their original bassist died a while back from a heart condition. Super sad. But I absolutely love Evile!
@@Brokid81 I ll go seer them when I come back to UK. I know the bass player died. Goodness's know how I missed them seen everything from Dio to cannibal corpse. Even saw Slammer in Leeds. My dying bride members used to come to my shop in Leeds

Shit,LOG had 2 kick ass albums, then 1/2 a good album with Ashes of the Wake....they haven't done anything since. Meow HAVOK on the other hand, they still kick ass!!!!
i’m an 80s thrash metal kid. i’ve seen a lot of SF Bay Area thrash metal bands. these guys are there. just as good. they remind me of Violence. fast with sick rhythms. the singer sounds like Mark from Death Angel. these guys are bad ass.
Dude! Live was as fucking awesome as always!Long live Havok. Hope I get to see them live someday. I’m happy they’ve gotten a little bit more famous now!
It's funny when you realize that Under the Gun (@ 20:00) is incredibily simmilar to Timmy and the Lords of the Underworld´s song from South Park hahaha

My favorite thrash band. Actually, the only thrash band I like besides Friedman era Megadeth. I'm more of a U2 guy( my all-time favorite band by a light year), but these guys have attitude, chops, songwriting ability and a sense of melody. I would like to see them grow enough were they make a good living and can keep playing the music they love.
Why aren't these guys more popular? They're probably my favorite modern thrash band out there.
+Rabid Rabbit Rabbi As soon as they do their "Black Album" they'll be massive...

Havok with a Vektor t-shirt, two of the best modern thrash bands.
Fuck yeah, they both put on such a good show too!
