was just watching this video and reading some of the comments. this is in response to Shortstogoalie. My friend Wisconsin has always had a great team and No I remember that night we didn't expect 5-0 at all, but we DID have the better team thank you for the compliment. that having been said look closely again at your post. SIR, with all due respect.. don't ever and I mean EVER refer to us as BU ! again. EVER!!!!
@tonythetiger20 How interesting. With such a seemingly huge target to shoot at, you zero in on "U of A Tucson". Most everybody I know says U of A, probably because it's easier to say. Say UA out loud, then UW and you'll see what I mean. UA is fine, it just sounds odd, it lacks poatree. I added Tucson because there are places like Arkansas and Alaska. Then again, hmmm, I didn't really think about it. Now, please check for typos, spelling, geography...
@tonythetiger20 Anyway, no, I wasn't blaming the whole bizarre game on UW's heavy political climate. But yes, I think there's no question it factors in. That game just happens to be the best illustration, because it was so extreme -- the psychological factor was so obvious.
@tonythetiger20 Well, we're talking about a bizarre game to start with. Whatever the most hopeful eagle fan had in mind, it wasn't anything close to 5-zip. Not saying that BU didn't have the better team. But they weren't saddled with UW's grayscale political energy, which hangs over the campus like a fog, and works like a morale-jamming device. At any rate, your guys played a great game, no question. Congratulations.
not enough seating? that’s surprises me because that’s the most a college hockey game has ever had in its history, the ice issues don’t surprise me tho, ice in stadiums like that is always cheap especially for a short college hockey event, it’s sucks
@@nate5859 They had the ice in the End Zone of the football field running sideline to sideline. Seating for the whole one side of the rink was the End zone, but the other side ( the one actually on the field) was temporary stands they erected and not enough of them. I was there for every game and you could hear the fans talking about the ice issues. I talked to a few parents of the players ( I was video coaching in the ECHL at the time) they all said something.
Yeah the ice issues were rough. And the seating situation was sort of thrown together last minute. They were hoping to fill Ford Field and have the ice at midfield, but the demand wasn't there so they moved it to one end. It was... fine, and different, but I don't think they should do it again. Especially with, as you said, the ice issues. Detroit as a host exceeded expectations, though, so that was good.
Shortstopgoalie... more like shortbusgoalie. I will admit it was entertaining to read that you cared so much about winning the outdoor game. Guess that sort of stuff is to be expected from fans of a "red" team. BC fans can explain that a little better.
@tonythetiger20 And it works whatever the scale. Honestly, assuming you had a choice, who would you rather have president right now - Obama or Reagan? My point is, there's a downturned energy built into the leftist ideology, leftist thinking. It's destructive. Now, obviously there are all kinds of other factors at work. The dominant political energy at UW just happens to be hard-core left.
@MikeNadolny2 Ok Ok, no need to bleed your eyes out, I was being light. And I admit, the U of A Tucson is my only other experience. So feel free, shoot it down, lol. Yes, colleges leans left, but Madison stands out. Not that the UA is Reagan country, but only that its negative political energy is way, way, WAY more low key, if not out of the picture. So the school's underlying spirit is lighter, especially its sports. Madison is dark with the left's dreary energy. Puts a damper, believe me.
@MikeNadolny2 @MikeNadolny2 No, that's not what I mean, I'm not talking about fan support, and I obviously don't know what's going on at BC. Just telling you what it's like at UW Madison and making an obvious comparison to what it's like at UA.. Like night and day. ...like Obama and Reagan, lol. If you disagree, fine. Can't help but be amazed yet again, though, by this weirdly personal reaction you guys on the left have to anyone who doesn't conform to your way of thinking. Mind boggling.
@tonythetiger20 The left's impact on campus at Madison is beyond belief. Sounds weird to say it, I know, but it poisons morale. Without it, this game, for one example, would never have happened. Across the board, UW teams are much better, coaches and players, than they perform. lol, ok it's wacko to say it. Still, I have no doubt it's true.
@tonythetiger20 Look, I'm not pretending to be scientific about this, it's just a gut feeling, though pefectly logical. And it's nothing at all personal to me, I don't make politics personal anyway. Frankly, I think anyone whose brain, whose thinking isn't tracked with leftist dogma would take what I'm saying as commonsense.
RIP Jimmy Hayes...BC in your blood forever !
Gary Thorne + Barry Melrose = Genius
Atkinson,Gibbons,Krieder,Smith,Hayes cool to see BC players who are now NHLers and look back at this
michael jennette Both Hayes.
EatSleepIceHockey true

@tallgurl11 the national average for the ACT is 20-21, so they are actually above average. Just to clarify

I was there at Ford Field . What a lousy venue. Ice issues all weekend. Not enough seating. Hope they never do that again.

BC dominated this game. Wisconsin played in their end the whole game. A disappointing finish to an otherwise good season.
@tallgurl11
Gosh, I am so deeply hurt. Your logic, especially, cuts to the bone.
4 of the goals were super soft my god
