You missed a big one close to my heart, Christopher Rush. He was the artist that created the Black Lotus Magic the Gathering card, and he was added to World of Warcraft as a gnome tending a lotus grove after his death in 2016.

Can't believe you missed the Borderlands 2 Easter Egg to Michael Mamaril. Gearbox had finished production when they received a message from Mamaril's friend about how the two had spent hours in the Borderlands and how he had since died. Gearbox not only recorded a beautiful eulogy to Mamaril by Claptrap's voice actor, but also went back in and added him as an NPC you can engage with and that gives an achievement. The NPC Botrick isn’t the only reference to Iwata in the game. Just a short horse ride away from where Botrick is found is Satori Mountain, where the rare mount The Lord of the Mountain will occasionally appear. What is with the Overwatch Easter Egg for "Wu Hongyu", 20, a student in Guangzhou, China. He saw someone stealing a classmate's motorcycle on the campus. The potential Robin Williams tribute is something I never would have caught on to, but I'm surprised that while you were on the topic of Breath of the Wild you didn't also mention them immortalizing Iwata as a nature spirit that occupies a mountain likely named after him. Not technically true. This game's Great Deku Tree is a cherry blossom as well, although given his size, you can only tell by looking at the Lost Woods from a distance.
I was sorta expecting you guys not to add this, since it's World of Warcraft, but I was really hoping you'd mention Ezra Chatterton. He had cancer, and played World of Warcraft in his spare time with his father. Blizzard, along with Make-A-Wish, made the kid two NPCs in his honor and added in his very own quest. He passed away in 2008, only 12 years old. RIP Ezra. You'll never be forgotten.

This isn't quite an easter egg, but that proposal reminds me of when Ellen McLain lent her voice to a Portal custom level that ended in a proposal. Heartwarming.
There are 3 I could think of that were forgotten. 1. In breath of the wild, if you talk to the NPC that resembles Iwata, he will mention about a mountain you could visit that is more of a in momentum to him 2. In halo: combat evolved, if you push a specific button command on the title screen on Christmas, it will spell out a birthday message. 3. In uncharted 4, if you go to the immigration office, there will be dialogue between Nathan and sully in which they reference the fictional town of Arstotzka from Papers, please because the developer of the game was formerly working at naughty dog.
There's also the story of Ezra Chatterton, who was a cancer patient and an avid player of World of Warcraft. He got to visit Blizzard's offices through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and he helped create Ahab Wheathoof, a Tauren NPC looking for his missing dog. When Ezra passed away in 2008, Blizzard renamed a Tauren NPC in Thunder Bluff Ezra Wheathoof in his memory.
What about the memorial to Wu Hongyu in Overwatch on Lijiang Tower? The man died after chasing a motorbike thief, and his last messages to his friends were about how much he was looking forward to the game. He never got to play the game before he died.
Halo 5, on the maps Torque and Tidal it is possible to see the names 'Lena' and 'Trinity' when you look up at the night sky. This is a tribute to a Halo fan, whose daughters of the same names, died in a house fire. A special animated emblem was also handed out to commemorate their loss.
Oh Jane, how we adore you playing the awkward emotionless villainess that is becoming your personal brand. You do make me feel better about so many things.
There is also several memorials in World of Warcraft, all sad but equally beautiful. It’s warms the heart to see someone immortalized in a world they loved to explore.
#1 still breaks my heart.... the E3 presentation was laughed at and ridiculed because it introduced the Switch which, at the time, was looked upon as doomed to fail. Shortly after the news came that Mr Iwata had passed, and people felt bad that they were giving him such a hard time right before his death. Now, 7 years later, Switch is one of the most inovative consoles to ever come out, greatly loved and charished by fans of all ages, and is slowly moving Nintendo into a position to eventually compete to once again be #1 in the console market. Mr Iwata, you are greatly missed and I hope you know you left an amazing legacy behind.
I remember finding an Easter Egg after doing a bunch of stuff at a certain time in Fable 3, I think, that said something like "you've found an Easter egg you get nothing for your work".
Of all the crazy and unbelievable things on this channel, Jane acting like she has emotions other than a desire to rule the world is the most unconvincing.
The easter egg that truly melted my heart is from Tomb Raider (2013). When you find the last hidden GPS cache, the "secret chime" is played from classic TR games with Lara saying her trademark "AHA...!".
How touching. Those easter eggs are really touching. Hey, O.X., is there a list of heartwarming MOMENTS in games? I think you should make one if you already haven't.
Fallout New Vegas: Lonesome Road DLC. In the Cave of the Abaddon you can find a petrified dog statue called Seymour if you have the Wild Wasteland perk. The story goes that after it's owner Sunflower Summers was killed by the military, it stayed with her until it died and petrified. It can be picked up and taken with you as it weighs nothing.
Fallout 4 Nula World there is an Easter egg to a fan that lost both his father than his brother and Fallout 4 really helped his life after that. So they got his brother in the DLC and the person who's brother it was said it was like seeing him once again as everything was just like him.
Human feelings? Oh, I am full of them now: anger, hatred, sorrow... ...just because you reminded me of hidden love messages. (sigh) Never worth it, even when it works. In the end, it's all dust. Easily scattered when she whispers "goodbye"...
The adorable chibi-esq GRD Spartan dolls hidden in Halo Reach's Anniversary maps. I would always go out of my way to find them in matches and just ignore the objectives. Totally worth it.
(From the UESP pages) Ashes of Lord Brinne, located in Samarys Ancestral Tomb. There is also the Mentor's Ring in this urn. Lord Brinne was the online name of Bill Iburg, an Elder Scrolls fan who died unexpectedly during the development of Morrowind. The urn, and his ashes, were placed in the game as a tribute. Bethesda does a lot of this.
In Overwatch on the map Lijiang Tower there is a row of three space suits. In an update to the game fans discovered that the name "Hongyu" was added. Apparently it's a memorial for a blizzard fan of the same name who died the night before Overwatch was released trying to catch a thief who stole his friend's bike. To make the easer egg even more sweet is the fact that they wrote the words "Heroes Never Die" above his name.
Nintendo's Iwata tributes were all really incredible. There's more references to him in Breath of the Wild than just the character; there's also a mountain named after him (Satori Mountain) and it's theorized that the Lord of the Mountain you can find there was meant to be a reference to him as well. Its Hyrule Compendium entry states: "This noble creature watches over all animals that make their homes in the forest. Legends say this holy creature is a reincarnation of a sage that died on the lands it now protects...it's sometimes known by its other name, Satori."
In Borderlands 2 and the Pre-Sequel, they gave 2 Make-A-Wish kids who have passed a tribute in their games. Michael Mamril appears in Sanctuary randomly and gives you a gun in BL 2. There's a secret box in Concordia that says "Isaiah's box," in it and is styled like Gaige, who was Isaiah's favorite character.
There's a mural in Dying Light of this kid who died at the hospital and was a huge fan of Dying Light and was hyped like crazy before it came out. But he died some time after the game was released. The devs were really happy for his enthusiasm and love of the game they added his image in.
Borderlands 2-Tribute to a Vault Hunter. Michael Mamaril asked Gearbox to do a eulogy for him read in Claptrap's voice but instead they made him a randomly spawning NPC that gives away primo equips and an achievement for 15g.

3. In uncharted 4, if you go to the immigration office, there will be dialogue between Nathan and sully in which they reference the fictional town of Arstotzka from Papers, please because the developer of the game was formerly working at naughty dog.
Also, Satori Mt in BotW... The Spirit Horse
wait Jane has feelings?
I assume it was some kind of simulation to help her understand and therefore torture humans better?
Only one:
The desire to dominate all life!
Oh, and I guess love for cats. But ONLY cats!!
if you look closely, you can see it's all a fabrication!
No
@Gamey Firebro Yes, but only for evil... For further information see Prudence.
Michael mamaril borderlands 2 he died loving the game so they added him as rare spawn in sanctuary to give you a rare weapon
Jane, Legos are beginner level. Try stepping on a d4. That's the true murder caltrop.
How about a nice, good ol' cast metal d4?
Step on a nail barefooted. That's a real challenge.
I don't own any D4s for exactly that reason...
Useful for getaways though!
I can beat that. Ever step on a step on a spike that fell off a Chaos Space Marine tank?
What about the memorial to Wu Hongyu in Overwatch on Lijiang Tower? The man died after chasing a motorbike thief, and his last messages to his friends were about how much he was looking forward to the game. He never got to play the game before he died.
Checks chest
Heart still frozen
"This is false advertising!"
Adam McDDcM try taking it out of the ice chest then
Frozen you say, False advertising you say... Maybe you should Let it go.... 😉
a frozen heart is no problem at all when you have icewater running through your veins. :D
That joke was just cold
Let me ask you are you sure if that frozen thing was your hearth and not some frozen pizza you forgot there
Halo 5, on the maps Torque and Tidal it is possible to see the names 'Lena' and 'Trinity' when you look up at the night sky. This is a tribute to a Halo fan, whose daughters of the same names, died in a house fire. A special animated emblem was also handed out to commemorate their loss.
I don't know what was cuter, Missile the pom or the noise Andy made when looking at him
Defo Andy noise.
Aslo... Shiba Inus look a lot like oversized Pomeranians.
*"wooo..."*
I made the same noise at the same time 😂
I'm pretty sure deep fried mac-n-cheese is a heart stopper, not a heart warmer.
Oh Jane, how we adore you playing the awkward emotionless villainess that is becoming your personal brand. You do make me feel better about so many things.
IWATA! My heart is properly melted...
I remained a wall of manly stoicism... until that Robin Williams one.
what? human emotions!?
oh noes, they're overwhelming me!!
NOooOooOOoOoOOOooooOOOO!!!!
Must be those onion cutting ninjas running around.
okay, the robin williams made me cry, is making me cry.
There is also several memorials in World of Warcraft, all sad but equally beautiful. It’s warms the heart to see someone immortalized in a world they loved to explore.
There is also the Iwata Tribute in Ultra Sun and Moon that references the time that he helped save Pokémon
I miss Fable...
that's not heart warming, more like infuriating...
Yeah, I bet, but that is a very Fable Easter egg. I mean, in a way, it would be weird if that wasn't what it said.
when andy said "I'm not tearing up, you're tearing up", I was like "yes." because I absolutely was. Robin Williams, man......
You left out the proposal in the credits of Star wars battlefront 2(2005).
*When you see Iawata in Breath of the wild and then Go Compelete sob mode*
"It's hard to tell, you're both pretty magical."
Dammit, Robin ='( So were you, man. So were you
Of all the crazy and unbelievable things on this channel, Jane acting like she has emotions other than a desire to rule the world is the most unconvincing.
You bear-ly felt it, Jane?
...that was terrible. I apologise.
I always love the end where they go slightly off script and you can hear all the crew laughing
Damn Jane got a heart of stone i would be on the floor crying if i stepped on a lego
Why you got to bring Robert Williams into this
The easter egg that truly melted my heart is from Tomb Raider (2013). When you find the last hidden GPS cache, the "secret chime" is played from classic TR games with Lara saying her trademark "AHA...!".
I like how the only one to show emotion was Andy, not robot Mike or evil Jane or the man behind the camera... have something to tell us James?
How touching. Those easter eggs are really touching. Hey, O.X., is there a list of heartwarming MOMENTS in games? I think you should make one if you already haven't.
Speaking about Ace Attorney what about Shoe the cat? His name is a reference to Shu Takumi who created the series!
Fallout 4-Nukaworld-Evan-nicest guy in the wasteland....
I've never anticipated to learn anything from you guys, but I don't think I've never heard any of these stories before. Good work, top vid!
Fallout 4 Nula World there is an Easter egg to a fan that lost both his father than his brother and Fallout 4 really helped his life after that. So they got his brother in the DLC and the person who's brother it was said it was like seeing him once again as everything was just like him.
Don't forget that World of Warcraft put in Robin Williams character as an NPC after he passed and you can now talk to him
Human feelings? Oh, I am full of them now: anger, hatred, sorrow...
...just because you reminded me of hidden love messages. (sigh) Never worth it, even when it works. In the end, it's all dust. Easily scattered when she whispers "goodbye"...
are you... ok?
I'm fine. Oi, don't judge me just because I'm heartbroken!
I know there was already two Iwata tributes in this video, but the tribute in the credits of Star Fox Zero actually brought a tear to my eye.
can they just confirm Jane's status as non-human and stop dragging it out? we all know already.
“Who’s in a Nintendo game now, Chris Houlihan?!”
Not you, Captain Falcon. Not you...
*cries uncontrollably*
The adorable chibi-esq GRD Spartan dolls hidden in Halo Reach's Anniversary maps. I would always go out of my way to find them in matches and just ignore the objectives. Totally worth it.
Ghost Trick!!! I almost forgot about this game, thanks for the unintended nostalgia!
also in breath of the wild, theres a rare creature who is a protector of the forest, nicknamed "iwata" ;--------;
RidTheDragon on satori mountain
Yeah everyone gathered it was a tribute
RidTheDragon Satori, really.
(From the UESP pages)
Ashes of Lord Brinne, located in Samarys Ancestral Tomb. There is also the Mentor's Ring in this urn. Lord Brinne was the online name of Bill Iburg, an Elder Scrolls fan who died unexpectedly during the development of Morrowind. The urn, and his ashes, were placed in the game as a tribute.
Bethesda does a lot of this.
how about in call of duty where a developer made a tedybear a weapon for his daughther who died recently
Come on you guys! Michael Mamaril? Borderlands 2? Ringing any bells!?
You know what warms my heart
*Standing in front of a header*
I,,, never thought Ghost Trick would be here. I love that game so much.
Okay who keeps going into oxbox houses and leaving Legos?
I don't know! seriously though its getting pretty bad
I thought they said it was Andy.
Ellen did go to the Lego park...don't tell luke
Over 20 years, and now I finally know why there is a message from Chris Hoolihan in a room in A Link to the Past.
It's a catch 22. the amount of heart warming that it would take to melt my icy heart would set me on fire.
Seeing anything about robin williams and his daughter always makes me cry ;-;
Great video need to go cry for a couple hours......
I MISS YOU ROBIN!!!!!
Robin Williams is the only celebrity I legitimately mourn and I can't even really articulate why. I tear up at the mention of him.
Emotions? It's okay, we know all of you are dead inside. Especially Captain Falcon.
There's a mural in Dying Light of this kid who died at the hospital and was a huge fan of Dying Light and was hyped like crazy before it came out. But he died some time after the game was released.
The devs were really happy for his enthusiasm and love of the game they added his image in.
I'm not tearing up, you're tearing up!
*loop ad infinitum*
The Robin Williams one almost made me cry. I miss that wonderful man
Borderlands 2-Tribute to a Vault Hunter. Michael Mamaril asked Gearbox to do a eulogy for him read in Claptrap's voice but instead they made him a randomly spawning NPC that gives away primo equips and an achievement for 15g.
If I were a video game designer, I would absolutely immortalize my dog in pixels, and you can't stop me!
If only there was a game with a hidden Cthulhu easter egg for Jane, a message for her from The Old Ones, maybe?
"Darling, miss you _so_ much, but we're all _very_ proud of you!
Only a few more remain, then the time for the Great Ablation will be at hand."
'Course, the Foul Tongue _is_ a little hard to translate into code... well... without _side-effects,_ at least.
I think that the only way to do that right would be to use cgi to animate the letters so that they flow properly.
You forgot the one in BOTW the bridge where if you climb onto the ledge a concerned passerby begs you not to jump and says he'll stay with you as long as you need. Real tear jerker that one.
Wait so after his girfriend didn't see the hidden mariage proposal he decided to wait 3 years for her to find her? How about just proposing again? No?
Evidentally she was worth the wait.
He needed to know if she really was the one. Just because Heracles doesn't perform one of his Labours he doesn't just get the prize.
