I try to be unbiased and this is the first time I think he has made some since on a bill
Notably, the federal government informed him that they will not fund his the $150,000 per undocumented migrant homeownership program proposal. The state would have to fund it & we are in a deficit.
Remember in November that they would have passed this- once again giving preferential treatment to undocumented migrants rather than citizens.
Funding would have come from the state. In fact, most of the funding for first time homebuyers comes from the state.
Thank god it was vetoed. And he listened to the people of California. American people should go first. We pay the taxes we work. It doesnt matter whether were democrats or Republicans or Independent etc.
So the important thing to note here is he veto because no funds, more likely he veto because there is no back end money for him and his friends.
Everyone remember how proud he was when he said we had extra money in California, then not long later all that money is spent and over spent somehow?
It had no money because funding wasn't approved, many vetoed bills had funding. It would have been vetoed regardless.

Notice that Newsom vetoed it because he said there wasn’t the money available. He didn’t say he vetoed it because it was morally wrong to benefit illegals at the expense of tax paying Californians. I’m a 5th generation Californian. My relatives fought and died in every war from the Civil War, through WWs I and II, Korea and Vietnam. The State of California didn’t help me buy a home. I had to move to another, more affordable state for that. I bought my first home in Texas at age 46.

G Newsom vetoed the bill because of what happened to the reparations bill. The national attention gained if he signed the Home Loans for immigrants given what a few days before what happened to the reparations bill. He had no choice but to veto it, yet it hurt his plans to further protect immigrants vs keeping his promise to assist the homeless & tax paying residence of CA!
