You know, back in the day I thought Monmon had the weirdest digivolution line of the 3 new Digimon of Digimon World 3. He goes from monkey, to a pirate, than a cyborg centaur, and finally a dinosaur with laser cannons. But, now everyone in the comments is pointing out it about the "evolution" of the weapons in these digivolution line.
Which makes sense when you look at it that way. Monmon is the range fighter, Kotemon the sword fighter, and Kumamon the fist fighter.
Monmon is the primate era of weapons, using a slingshot. (The caveman)
Hookmon is the more... what's the word... revolution era of weapons, using a cutlass and flintlock gun. (The sophisticated man)
Armormon (I forgot this Digimon for years until looking at the video just now) is the technological era of weapons, using machine guns. (The near future man)
Cannondramon is finally the futuristic era of weapons, using lasers. (The far future man... or beast)
Though it's funny the Mega Form is on a Dinosaur which is an ancient primordial life form equipped with high-tech futuristic weapons of mass destruction. But then again, who doesn't love Dinosaurs?
Dinosaurs could technically be more futuristic, since it would take science and technology to bring them back to life to equip them with laser cannons, whereas the monkey may have been post-dinosaur extinction.
Congratulations monmon, you have every digivolution based from the G.I Joe and the American Saturday Cartoon Line up ever.
Well this evolution line just happened in world 3 (a game from 2002), and almost was never used again, so I don't think we should considered it, but ok I guess
Well it's also because Monmon's an expert in using firearms anyway : this line developes that aspect more and more!

Seriously, I remember playing this game and when Monmon turned into this (of course I picked him with a name like that) I thought I accidentally got an alternative evolution instead of the main on.

Yes i get it the evolution is the weapon but still why from bipedal digimon to get 4 legs, tbh digimon 2003 starter Digivolve line is kinda not make sense
Also why from monkey to humanoid to centaur to dinosaur. The 4 legs are the least weird part
