Jason, I can’t stress enough how much I have learned from your channel. Thanks again for the great content.
Thank you. Greatly appreciate this comment
Could not agree more. Steaks like this are amazing.
The flavor is off the charts
Thank You so much for explaining this so well and the options if you don't have a grate.
Glad you enjoyed it
Went into the woods today public land a little late but inspired by your videos to find transition points on deer trails. Haven’t hunted in over ten years. Thank yous
Love this! Hope you had fun and enjoyed the quality woods time!
Well done, appreciate your straight to the point and common sense explanations on all your videos to why you do what you do because it works and it works great👍🏽 everyone does it different but great tips to be learned by your videos! Keep them coming!
Greatly appreciate this. Thank you.
Good stuff Jason, thanks
Thank you
I was always told not to grill with pine something about it could make you sick. I’ve never done so I can’t say just what I’ve been told
So far we feel good and only been doing it for 20 years...lol but now you are gonna make me look into it! Thanks for the heads up. Will check it out.
I was wondering, as he said he used pine, because it also produces a resin that, when burned, can make an acrid smoke and adulterate flavor.
It's OK to cook pine completely burned to coals but never use to smoke or use inside the house fireplace unless necessary.
Yep, i was told the same about pine, so ive always stayed away from it.
I wouldn't recommend it but it can be done
Thank you
Great job. Learned a lot watching this. Besides the different, innovative methods, I learned alot about cooking over coals vs flames. And how to move the wood to get rid of flames and/or manage the heat. I do pass on pine myself tho. But very well done - bought the grill stand using the link.
Glad you enjoyed it! Nothing like a steak made over a camp fire!
Great video. Will have to try it.thanks alot
Glad you enjoyed it
Best teaching on open fire. Thx +++++
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice job!
Thank you
I watch one of your videos months ago about a Honda Civic. Because I was buying that one. I just searched for “cooking steak over a campfire”. And ran into you again😂 what are the odds?
😂😂 I like cars and steaks!
You are correct!
Thanks
2:09 10,12,18 years 😂
Damn that looks good
Tastes great too!
So when can I come over! Great job!
Bring steaks and beer and welcome anytime!
Amazing video Jason! Going to try to get a setup like this going. Was hoping you’d cut into one of the steaks at the end! Do you cook venison steaks the same way?
We don't often cook venison steaks like that as they are thin with very little fat so they cook so fast they don't really absorb much of the fire flavor.
Starts cooking at the 8min mark for those that wanna see the cooking
Take a shot every time he says 🔥 you won't ever start cooking😭😭
What is the height of the the grill above the coals?
No idea. And sold the house and the little grill with it. I'd guess 6 to 7 inches is how tall it stood
That's boss !!
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it.
Bet they were good
Amazing!
Came here to see steak on fire not all family and household stories 😂
bonus you got both!
We just got a wild hair last night and grilled our steaks and chicken on our fire pit. I’ll never use another method
Amazing isn't it
@@tradbowpodcast it’s just simpler. Thanks for the tips
Hold up. Pine! Taste nasty. Oak hickory white birch citrus only. Home boy
maybe i like pine
Do you ever cook your venison over coals?
occasionally but since there is no fat in venison and we cut the steaks so thin its not really worth it as they are only on there a couple quick mins.
does it matter what wood is used?
Yes. Hard woods work best for the long burning coals
So this is the same as lump charcoal my boy
I didnt know you could cook steaks with Pine.
I do it. Works just fine
@@Ira88881 works just fine
Pine? You shouldn’t smoke with pine!
It's not smoking. It's open pit hot coals.
You lost me at pine and popler....
That's too bad and sorry to hear it
Why don't it cook on fire?
Fire is not hot enough. Coals are what you want to cook over. Plus the fire just burns the outside of the steaks without cooking the inside.
