Hi Alec, just stumbled upon your channel and thank you for the wealth of information. Just subscribed too. Just wondering. I noticed on video time 9:24 that the "highlighted circle around your mouse pointer" disappear and came back later seamlessly at 9:40. Were you using a specific screen recording/mouse software?
If you're a big fan of certain icon pack background and you want the profile to have a uniform look, you can set up the profile background with pinned null actions then use text labels or overrides as needed.
Cool stuff. Curious which streaming platform you’re using and where you got the lower third graphics that appear briefly then vanish? StreamYard offers text bulletin graphics but they don’t self-animate off the screen like that.
I use Ecamm Live (Mac only) for live streaming and live production of recorded content plus supercharging my zoom calls: www.ecammlivemasterclass.com I created the lower thirds in Keynote (could also do in Powerpoint) and exported as video file with transparency and then use that as an overlay in Ecamm Live. Some great new functionality. Thanks for the overview. But I am still waiting for Elgato to implement an advanced back button, with that we can call a profile or now also a folder from any profile, page, folder and then a back button that brings us back to the previous page from where we came. And also waiting for improvements for the stream deck plus that in my opinion is not supported well from software functionality. I would like to scroll through pages with the knobs and I would like to define lists. This lists can include simple commands like go to profile …, switch on background light, switch on scene …, start macro … . I now would like to scroll through that list by the knob seeing the list items scrolling through in the display and if the right action is showen in the display I want to activate it by a press of the knob. Maybe Elgato is looking here and seeing the comment 😊 Thanks Alec for your great content

I just found your channel and didn’t know (until now) that I need a Stream Deck! One question, I noticed instructions state to connect directly to Mac and a hub, however I have exhausted direct connections. Are there any options for me to address this limitation?
All manufacturers tend to specify that id needs to be plugged directly into the computer, I guess because they want to cover themselves against issues relating to wither poor quality docks and hubs or simply overloading a dock or hub and it not working as expected. I have 3 of my Stream Decks and 2 of my Rodecaster channels plugged into a single hub and have no issues whatsoever - I use the Caldigit Element Hub: amzn.to/4afa7Z3 This has plenty of power for all the devices. If you want other types of connections, then you would go for a dock rather than a hub... a good choice there would be the Caldigit TS4: amzn.to/3JZ34ZG ... which also gives audio in out, extra monitor, ethernet etc..

Moving those pages around, would never have guessed how easy it was. I literally would have been copying and pasting. Likewise converting pages to folders, and folders to pages. I was also wondering how I would go about copying folders/pages to different profiles. (Say controlling VST softsynth across different app profiles), now I know how.
Something I still badly want is to be able to press a button and simulate "F3+G" or "F3+B" etc... for minecraft lol. Can't you do complex button presses like this?
Unfortunately not... one way you could work around this would be an app like Keyboard Maestro on the Mac or similar on the PC, and then create a macro for that key press in Keyboard Maestro, but then trigger it with Stream Deck. It is a Folder (right click on a button, then select Add Folder) I was demonstrating the new feature that we can now 'auto exit folders... so you press the folder button to enter the folder full of actions, but then as soon as you trigger one of the actions within that folder it auto exits the folder. Really great for collections of actions that you use occasionally or that are logically grouped together.
@@陈佳新-d5s Ahh I see! Sorry... that was the button I used to switch to my top down shot. It was illuminated yellow because that was the active camera angle. I then moved my finger the the bottom left button to switch back to my main camera. The thing I was actually demonstrating was all going on with the Stream Dec on the right side.
Has anyone had a problem with the Wirecast plugin? For me it worked on a 2017 MBP running MacOS 13 but then I bought a new 16” MBP M3Max with 16 CPUs and 40 GPUs with 128 GB of RAM and 4 TB SSD. I get the yellow triangle and I’ve contact Telestream and Elgato and still don’t have a solution. Nothing is appearing in Settings/Security/automation in MacOS 14 like in the old MBP. I’m baffled and have a live event in 10 days.
I don't personally use Wirecast, so can't share any first hand experience... You've likely tried all of thee, but just in case you haven't, then I'd try and remove and reinstall the plugin first. If that doesn't work try completely removing the Stream Deck software (Backing up your profiles first!) and then reinstall to see if it prompts you to check any security preferences again on re-install... then reinstall the Wirecast plugin again as well. Sorry I doin't have a better answer... hopefully someone else using Wirecast may be able to comment!
