The fact that you can use the Wave Link software with this device is a great move. If you have a USB mic already and wanted to use Wave Link, your only option was to buy a Wave XLR, now this makes things way better since you get a stream deck + a way to get submixes and plugins for your mic in one software. Elgato said that currently a competitor to the GoXLR/Rodecaster is not in the works but with all the feedback they have been receiving with people hoping for that, I think they might eventually do it. Just need to keep waiting only a matter of time at least 4 dials and 4 sliders would be quite amazing
streamer bot has a free online deck that you can use on any device connected to the internet! Similar to touch portal... but free! No dials though. Maybe one day!
About the Wave XLR: I noticed that they make you do a lot of mandatory processing in VSTs on the CPU which adds latency, whereas the GoXLR always proudly said that their chip was strong enough to do the processing in the box for low latency. A latency test of the two platforms under common circumstances would be interesting. Maybe the Wave XLR is just a dummy and runs 2x slower than GoXLR once you add EQ, compression, gate, etc...
On any modern hardware, VST latency is going to be negligible and virtually every webcam and capture device on the market is going to be slower than the VST processed audio anyway so it doesn’t have an impact on syncing. It can be an issue, but it’s rare
Same but they said today they aren't doing that because they don't want to combine products and make a full mixer like a GoXLR or Rodecaster, unfortunate but with this feedback they are getting I think they will make one in the future, we keep waiting
@@frankmags tbh this device is even better this way u can literally use any xlr interface you want and get all the utility of using the wave software.....pairing it with my wave xlr is gunna be great and still like $40 cheaper than a go xlr
They have said that the faceplates are not a thing on the SD+ because development on that was started in 2019, this was pre-Stream Deck MK2 with swappable face plates. The second reason is even if they wanted to, it wouldn't make sense because of the LCD touch screen which wouldn't work with a swappable face plate, dials too but that could be worked around, the LCD screen however could not, at least not easily. Also currently Elgato has no plans for a SD+ Mk2, or Pro, or XL or anything like that at the time of writing. However it's possible that after seeing feedback, that might be worked on soon
Dials are a nonissue as they’re removable. Screen could be doable because it has its own bezel so the plastic faceplate should theoretically just fit around it
@@EposVox That's what I meant for dials, it's possible but just a small challenge. As for the screen, my words are directly from the product manager at Elgato, Steggy, he said it on stream earlier today and that was why they didn't/couldn't do it just yet anyways
I like this seems like a good idea now anybody could use any XLR interface with this and get all the access to the wave link software... This makes the barrier of entry Much lower to get a respectable XLR interface
Question! If you already have a soundboard software (such as Voicemeeter) on your computer, is it wise to get rid of it to get better use of the audio dials on something like this newer Streamdeck+, or can you set controls to work on the audio programs on top of what the streamdeck+ can do when it operates on its own?
So I wanted to buy the Motu M2. Would I be able to use to control it better? Say program a mute button that the M2 doesn't have? I wanted to dip my toes into streaming, and I hate my GoXLR Mini so I need a new interface. I could try the Vocaster, but I'm worried about the headphone amp. My Idea was the M2, and then plopping the Stream Deck + on top of it to give me extra functionality.
Will the stream deck lower my sound quality? I bought the go xlr mini a few years ago, but to control my sound I had to use the internal DAC. Sadly this was way worse than my current one, so I experienced a DRASTIC drop in soundquality, since I use a high-end audio system. So I have only been using my goxlr to control my microphone, but having sliders to control different sound levels would be a nice quality of life improvement.

since I have a USB mic (the lovely Revelator Dynamic) and only use the goxlr mini for having sliders and virtual audio devices for routing and adjusting with physical controls, and with the wave link software enabled on this, I am considering replacing the goxlr mini and regular stream deck with this as an all-in-one solution. it just sounds like from what I'm seeing in reviews to be the best value. cheaper than both devices (even on sale) and less desk space in an already cluttered setup.

Sorry, I have a Wave XLR with a Wave DX, and that setup for me on Twitch, just CANNOT compare to BEACN Mix Create and the BEACN Mic!! The BEACN software uses less system resources then elgato does and I can drag and drop software to the catagories that I want and NEVER have to mess with the windows sound mixer to assign, and allows me to VERY quickly to drag and drop programs to different catagories while live streaming if needed, even steelseries sonar can do this! People love to show how you can change the ISO and temp of your elgato cameras, but as a live streamer, you almost NEVER touch those settings while live! My loupedeck can already contol adobe with its 6 dials and even more! I can see how this would be good if you don't already own a stream deck, but as someone that has a stream deck XL, loopedeck AND stream deck mobile 2.0 for 96 button stream deck on ipad......combine the fact that Steelseries has free Sonar for streamers, its just a no thank you!!
Is there any real point to the goxlr and xlr mics anymore? It seems that usb mics are either close to or on par with xlr mic quality and feature rich devices like this make the goxlr obsolete.
GoXLR? No absolutely not. XLR mics? Plenty of reasons - but if you’re just a streamer looking for a simple solution, nah plenty of nice usb options that will last your whole career
@@EposVox Could you explain what an alternative is for the goxlr if I'm using an xlr mic? If I'm buying the stream deck plus + wave link (xlr + headphones), at that price point I might as well keep using the Goxlr since it's an all in one thing. Or can I input my xlr + headphones into my scarlet 2i2 and then put that into stream deck plus? Or does the stream deck is able to control that seperately?

Wait... I get that the stand is removable, but who was the genius who thought a USB-C port aiming down into the desk without that stand was a good idea?
I like that they did *not* put any audio interface capabilities to this, and just stick to buttons and now dials with displays. Separation of concerns, allowing for using other devices for that, off-desk.

I don't think i will ever get a stream deck. I wanted one when it released but after using Touch Portal I can't see myself using a stream deck anymore. the only elgato gear i think I will use is the capture card unless I can find a better option.
It looks amazing but the mushy buttons are just a huge dissapointment to me... especially as a huge keyboard nerd. The software is simply unmatched right now. Though I think I can wait.
Looking forward to finally getting mine soon. All I wanted was a Stream Deck that had programmable knobs to control Wave Link. While I was hoping they'd release a full-fledged Wave XLR Pro with a full I/O in the back, this is a good product to replace my Stream Deck XL which I was using for lighting and Link controls.
Is it just me or wouldn’t it be better to have a encoder interface separately and have many more? Because with this you have less shortcuts and you only 4 encoders… just seems like it’s not really replacing anything being a massively cut down version of everything. If money isn’t a thing I would maybe have this in the middle with my main functions at hand, but would still need a proper stream deck and a fader or encoder interface to actually be able to be productive… Or is this a all in one device for very simple setups? Someone that streams doing makeup or something
I mean, you have fewer face buttons but you have no less access to actions. Touch panel makes it easier than ever to swipe between pages so I actually find pages useful for the first time. I have tons of buttons but multi actions, offloading some to dials, and pages/folders mean I don’t have trouble using them.
hello, I had asked something watching your previous videos on gpu, I would be grateful if you could answer, I need help choosing the gpu: you only talked about encoders and not decoders, but what is it useful for the average user (no content creation and in addition to rasterization) on the gpu? Intel has great encoders for content-creation, but are the decoders equally better than Nvidia's?

I am wanting to start streaming and I have a desktop PC with an RTX3080ti and an ultrawide 1600p monitor, but I also do have a Razer Blade 15 laptop and thought it might be a good idea to run a duel setup that way my laptop is responsible for streaming and I just use the Razer ripsaw capture card that way I still get the full visual experience as if I weren't streaming. Sorry if I don't make sense hahaa, this is so new to me but I now have a permanent spinal injury and I have been stuck at home in my chair for a few years so thought about doing this.
Yep! With SD+ and Wave Link, the mix create would be completely redundant and only add complications
@@EposVox awesome! Thanks heaps for getting back to me so quickly! Trying to buy all I need with the black friday sales haha.
Would you recommend me running a single PC setup "i9 9900kf with an rtx3080ti 38" 1600p monitor" or would running a duel PC setup with a capture card be better off for me still having the best gaming experience at 1600p with as much fps as usual and offloading the OBS streaming onto my laptop with a capture card? And having chat etc on the laptop screen
The last thing is mics, either looking at SM7B or the Beacn mic, I would like to be able to use the mic for the audience but also would like to be able to use it for in game chat with side tone so I can hear myself with no delay.
Really sorry for the questions, please forgibb
This is really cool and I'd be happy to get it. BTW, I heard some odd static during this video. Not sure you heard it yourself too or not.
I heard it too, came to the comments to make sure it wasn't just windows being weird on my side. Thanks for leaving a comment!
Does wavelink virtual audio support 5.1, 7.1 and dolby atmos theater, or just stereo only?
Stereo
@@EposVox funny how things like this and beacn are made for audio routing, yet completely ignore a basic audio feature. People do use actual speakers and not headphones 24/7 🙁 i guess i will still be using voicemeeter...
Moving elements horizontally and vertically, zooming the elements, color adjustments by adjusting saturation, hue, brightness, etc... Omg those dials are to die for 😭
Awesome & Thanks :)
Can it separate audio on a M1 macbook pro?
Bummer that the new Volume Controller plugin is not Mac compatible 😫
Will use your link to buy
There is a new volume manager thing for Mac at least
@@EposVox volume manager? Added to new stream deck software? I’ll have to check for that. I’ve been away from my setup for few days so I might have missed an update.
Can we get those photoshop templates?? Thank you
They’re from SlideShowFX - I linked their site in description
@@EposVox thank you! ! !
I don't think i will ever get a stream deck. I wanted one when it released but after using Touch Portal I can't see myself using a stream deck anymore. the only elgato gear i think I will use is the capture card unless I can find a better option.
Can't wait for the SDK to unlock using the color wheels and curves, in DaVinci Resolve.
It looks amazing but the mushy buttons are just a huge dissapointment to me... especially as a huge keyboard nerd. The software is simply unmatched right now. Though I think I can wait.
How well does the wave software work if I'm using a rodecaster pro
Ive been hoping for dials on a streamdeck for years, this is great news !
Update: They released the XLR Dock that plugs into the back of the Stream Deck Plus.
This is basically what I'd been asking for.
I'm happy now.
Please Elgato just give us a routing table like the BEACN mix create, it’ll make our life much easier.
Seems big :S Thanks for a great video! Love the production you do!
Looks very cool but for my personal needs I'll stick with my original stream deck 1.
I would love this, but 8 buttons is eh.
If they did this with 12, or even 16 buttons and the 4 dials I would instantly grab it
I just bought the stream deck xl 3 weeks ago... My timing is so bad..
Damn Elgato's been called the Apple of Streaming for the past several years but are we actually the Sega Genesis of Streaming?
hahahahaha
If this had XLR hook up I'd get one
Here's an idea.. OBS to support midi mapping to mappable controllers.. WIN.
I'm looking for it in Amazon even using the link provided by you and it doesn't show it to me any body alse having the same issue?
Looks like it’s not up yet
It is mixer?
Is it just me or wouldn’t it be better to have a encoder interface separately and have many more?
Because with this you have less shortcuts and you only 4 encoders… just seems like it’s not really replacing anything being a massively cut down version of everything.
If money isn’t a thing I would maybe have this in the middle with my main functions at hand, but would still need a proper stream deck and a fader or encoder interface to actually be able to be productive…
Or is this a all in one device for very simple setups?
Someone that streams doing makeup or something
I mean, you have fewer face buttons but you have no less access to actions. Touch panel makes it easier than ever to swipe between pages so I actually find pages useful for the first time. I have tons of buttons but multi actions, offloading some to dials, and pages/folders mean I don’t have trouble using them.
It looks ace!
hello, I had asked something watching your previous videos on gpu, I would be grateful if you could answer, I need help choosing the gpu: you only talked about encoders and not decoders, but what is it useful for the average user (no content creation and in addition to rasterization) on the gpu? Intel has great encoders for content-creation, but are the decoders equally better than Nvidia's?
does it work with steelseries sonar
Have you tried the Razer Stream Controller?
It’s the LoupeDeck Live.
@@EposVox Oh damn I didn't know that was a thing, unsurprising. Thanks though, also have you tried that? I can't find a video of you going over it. I wasn't sure what option to go for and thought that this might be it. Thank you for your videos keep up the awesome work!
Is it just me or are there some serious audio issues in this video like crackling audio at for example 10:15 ???
New ai dialog leveler in resolve clearly needs some work
how can I find camera hub plugin?
What's the site for the mounts?

@@EposVox alright, ill look again. Thanks.
This or Loupedeck? That is my only question
This
Mrgregles made an Etcha Sketch with this
Sick
I know its elgato's own product but feels kinda like theyre trying to take some things from the rode procaster 2 and loupedeck.
I mean, yes, competition is going to compete lol
A better version of the Beacn!
Would love an XL version with a tripod screw so I could mount it on a magic arm.
Would love to see a stream deck + with physical sliders.
Stream Deck +XL will be next
I don't doubt this is a good product... but outside of some rare software bugs, that are getting less and less I like beacn. Plus I dropped the money on beacn I can't justify switching to elgato and spending more when what I have works
I will never tell someone to ditch something they already have to buy something similar. That's a toxic trait of youtuber product coverage that I never stand behind.
Broadcast controllers are expensive. I bought a few Skaarhoj controllers. 💸
