One more thing..... pasta lasts longer than most marriages, which makes it perfect for keeping on hand...plus all pasta's can be eaten with Olive Oil and Capers instead of red sauce----My preference actually!
My simple favourite is just butter and some Mrs. Dash Italian Medley, or just any Italian seasoning if out of Dash. Who need Knorr Butter and Herb noodle packs? lol
Just a NOTE... During summertime storms season hurricanes, tornadoes.... do not stock up on refrigerated or frozen foods only what you need for the week.
Just in case of power outages.
I made the mistake a few years ago in the summertime we didn't get electricity back on for a week .I had to throw out all my refrigerated and frozen food as it all melted what a mess.
Staying with non-perishable foods canned good.
Or get a generator.
I have empty milk contains full of frozen water, I live in Fl outages is less than 2 hours but still have chargers & flash lights ready to go not living near beach which is huge concern. We don't get all the costal programs. No matter where you live you should get your box ready to go if this happens.
@@37degreesnorth76 Propane or dual fuel generator. Much easier and safer to store a few 5 pound propane cylinders than a few 5 gallon gas containers around and they won't go bad.
My walmart hardly ever has distilled water, but I can find Parents Choice distilled water in the baby section.
Hi Danno unfortunately I've missed a lot of your videos lately I decided to till up my backyard which is 1/4 of an acre and grow my own food took about 3 months and now I'm enjoying the Harvest

When i think about "stocking up", i have to also give thought to where i will be able to store it. No garage or large pantry...next spot will have to be under the bed.
I store things for future use under my bed in rubber made tubs as theyre thicker and more sturdy I also cleaned closet to see what extra space I had I was amazed at the things in my closet that was never used so they were donated and gave me more storage space for items I did use and could store them there as my extras
I've even done small bins behind my sofa.

Freeze dried meats.
Canned beef.
Or storage.
You'll figure it out!
I wish you the very best.

That'll do.
I just have a small galley kitchen with no pantry. I had to turn my spare bedroom into a pantry. Hope no one comes over planning to spend the night. 🤭
Made tuna salad last week and I had a can of Members Mark tuna and a can of Starkist both solid white. A lot more water in the Starkist.
Same thing happened with me , with Members Mark Chicken.
I was watching another report on shortages. They reported chocolate.
Nothing new there, where the plants grow have been having a huge struggle, weather wise, for a couple of years. I started putting it back 5 years ago when the grow Zones were hit with a killer winter, then a drought.
If you cook from scratch (making foods yourself) you need salt and pepper as necessities other spices also keep in a dark cabinet sealed they’ll last a long time can make a dull recipe taste better also salt is good for gargling with a sore throat plain flour stored in Mylar bag with a oxygen absorber last a long long time you can buy yeast and freeze it to make bread or other things just lay out yeast an hour or so before using just a few few tips to save money now it will pay off in the long run
Happy father's day to all you DADDY'S out there!! I hope you have a wonderful day!! ❤❤😊😊

I usually just listen to your videos while I'm doing daily chores. What ever length you want to make them is fine with me. I do notice the length though. If they are longer, I usually time them for when I'm in bed relaxing. Or in the bath tub. LOL.My favorites are the rants with Frank. Ultimately, your channel, your choice.
Certain things for us are now luxuries...pop and other drinks, eating out, most snack foods, higher priced meat, etc. This is the best time ever to do intermittent fasting 16:8 eating window and exercise.
The major coffee growing nations have been limited in their production for years and global coffee supplies have been low for a 3 years...check ingredients, many commercial coffee brands have imitation coffee in it now as filler.
What the heck is imitation coffee??
Though I haven't drank any in years, I was shocked to see 2 LT Cokes for $3.99 each. That price is crazy.
I picked up some salt & will check into the BOGO spices tomorrow.
The sales have been so disappointing that I haven't put much towards my gas rewards. A lot of times, if I wait until Friday to go, there is a lot of empty bins where the sales are suppose to be. Unlike Publix, I have never had a Kroger employee go back into the meat dept & bring out whatever is on sale to replenish the bins. They just bark that they're out. It has happened way too many times, so I have cut back my shopping there.
They force us to eat less.

This is a tip to get the most out of your cooking oil. For first use only use for cooking potatoes such as french fries or wedges. (Pro-tip: You can start french fries in cold oil. Place fries in cold oil and set temperature to 375F or medium heat 5 on electric stove. They will cook in about 20 minutes. Since you are using fresh(ish) oil you know they are ready when all float on top. Darker colour only come from older oil.) When the oil starts to become dark amber in colour you move to second use which is for fried batter or panko crusted such as onion rings, frozen shrimp, hushpuppies, fish filets. You can still use potatoes at this step also. Potatoes are a great way to remove fishy flavour from oil. Because of crumbs you will have to start straining the oil after every few cookings. When the oil starts to become foamy when cooking it is moved to third use which is cornbread. Don't use fresh oil for your cornbread. Do not use foamy oil for deep frying as it will be a fire hazard, but fine for things such as hashbrowns in a skillet. At this point you also use it to wipe down your cast iron after cooking or doing a salt scrub (I hope you know NEVER us detergent to wash cast iron.) This moves us to final use which is as a fire starter or plant killer. When it starts to turn rancid or has any off-putting taste you use this way. Good for cracks in driveway pavement and sidewalks or fence lines. Be aware it will be a very long time before something will grow there again, so be sure you really want to use it this way.
Hello. Thank you Danno and Jess for sharing with us. Blessings ❤
Fuji water and other brands where recalled recently
Combine that with it being hot and it's logical for there to be a brief shortage.
Good evening Danno and everyone ❤ Foldgers coffee is now $14.34 at Walmart now 😢 Glad I stocked up on it before it went up in price. Have a wonderful and Blessed night ❤❤❤
Make your own spices, its so easy and cheap, and make sure you have lots of natural salt
Another reason to buy salt and have lots of extras on hand even canning salt that was hard to find for a while
Thank you for the video. God bless. 👍👍❤️😃🙏
We use a LOT of water with two CPAPs and several humidifiers in our household of 5. We finally decided to buy a water distiller from Amazon. We can do up to 6 gallons per day, but we run one gallon overnight and start another one during the day if needed. It sure has helped the budget even though it wasn't that expensive. Just hard to find and buy 10-12 gallons at a time.
This week at Dollar Tree I witnessed a large shipment of merchandise come in and they were filling the shelves. The items were a larger size but the prices I saw was $3 and $5 per item. I went to the back of the store and grabbed favorite products I use before they were all gone. Many items were already out and the shelves were almost bare. I knew they were scheduled to raise prices up in August but it is happening now.
Use these over the counter medication sparingly
Kroger has 40 bottles for 3.99 this week. I don't remember if it's digital or not.
Great video
Hi! Good evening.
If you can afford to buy in bulk try Azure standard. They have tons of spices and baking goods as well as other things.

Hi Danno and Jess❤❤❤
Went to my local Walmart today. I noticed the 2lb bags od their brand of sugar. Those bags looked smaller. Has anyone else noticed this? Thanks Danno. God bless from Oklahoma.
Hey Danno!!!! I also stress to people to have pest control in their preps!!!! Home pest control and animals flea and tick treatment, etc
Also have mosquito spray and soothing spray or creams for bites.
Good idea. Last year I went around all of my bathroom sinks (2) and looked at where the water pipes come up through the floor in the vanities. I was stunned by the size of the holes. Any mouse or bug could come through some of them. Even a small snake. I plugged them up right away. Will do the same when I get new appliances. This year, I'm going to replace all of my window screen wire. Most of them have small holes where flies and mosquitoes can come in. I can do those myself too. Home maintenance is never ending, huh? Sigh.
If you have a Juice Steamer, You can make your own Distilled Water pretty easy.

Buy a distiller , worth the money
Distilled water only has a few good uses.
@@KimWilsonTV yes but for people that need it to clean medical equipment
Prices on distillers have gone thru the roof, and most are imported from a single supplier now named VEVOR. They have AWFUL customer service. The one I bought didn't work, and they sent a video for me to rewire it. They stalled, dragged feet, sent emails, and literally ran out the clock on the warranty without replacing it.
Ever hear of artificial shortages. Gasoline did this in the 70s
Fancy Feast basic .. ok but the fancier ones are $1.22 a can
Heads up. Aldi's lean Hamburger 93/7

I don't know if the supermarkets by me are playing some sort of game, but the regular size cans of Del Monte vegetables were marked at $3.29 a can. I'm glad I am stocked up with the ones I like. The store brand were on sake for $1.25. It is a good product. At least Maxwell House Columbian small cans were $2.99. I bought a couple more.
$ Tree here in central Indy, Del Monte canned veggies are $1.25
Sam’s has pasta back on the shelves
Their pasta is pretty good.
Is it angel hair pasta? I've been looking for Members Mark angel hair pasta for a couple of years now. Its not in Sams, Wal-Mart nor on line. 😒
Storage is the problem! Live in an apartment! Any suggestions? Already used under the bed containers that are full!
Price of olive oil has really gone up.
Cans of tomatoes must be watched - the acid eats the can from the inside out - they can still weep if it's in a place where you can"t see it, and it makes a big mess - Yep, happened to me.
I noticed the water shortage yesterday.. there as a big pallet full of water then 4days later which was yesterday I go in there and its gone and a lot is missing off the shelves
too.. that spot where the pallet was is an empty space like they have no more water to put there.. just my guess
Being Walmart is the parent business of Sam's club.. Sam's club is bulk purchases place to go ..and is the same as Walmart as far as what you can get just more of it.... And I stock up on salt but never have seen it not on the shelves
We’ve always bought our pet food/supplies from chewy. Wet dog food is now 40/12 cans, which is just too much, when I pause and wonder WHAT is going into it, and where it’s coming from. Based on this I’m going to start making ur own dog food, but continue still getting dry. Good luck everyone.
What SUCKS is if you lose electric , you lose your refrigerated/ frozen stock up. If you can't keep it cold. Keep this in mind. Cost me a fortune here in TX a couple weeks ago. Ercot SUCKS.
Good point. I'm trying to eat from my freezers to make room, since you never know when power can go out. If it's out long term, I think a generator will only work so long. Do you have a dehydrator or do any canning? This is what I'm working toward, so that I have a good stock of canned versus freezers full of food. It all depends on foods you're buying and putting in freezers though. I would really like to use my freezers more for meals I've prepared in advance.
Found Folgers Classic Roast, 29.? Ounces, for $9.99, cheap for around here (E. Washington) I think . Is this good ?
Great price! $11.98 here in northern Nevada!
The Kirkland coffee is still very reasonable. Costco sells Breakfast Blend and Espresso.
spices in Vegas has been fine.. I almost took photos of them but, I didnt.. I looked only cause u mentioned it.. and im like hmmm we still are doing pretty good as far as spices.. good to know though for sure..
Hi Danno , I bought two Folger coffee today .It's on sale at Publix like $8.49 @ the big cans .I think I will go back for more .This hopefully will help all. everyone.

If you use shampoo etc. sparingly they go far .. I love on of their shampoos. They just not there… my stock is exhausted.
They remodeled one of the Kroger stores near me, I noticed how multiple items have been reduced, mainly the quantities, more than selection. The fresh meat counter has been nearly eliminated, compared to how it was before the remodel. Southeast Michigan.

I have heard not to store coffee in the freezer. What’s the best way to store long term?
Not sure why, I've stored coffee beans in my freezer for a couple years, and they've tasted fresh as when I put them in it.
I store my grounds in the freezer and have never had a problem. Also you can store in a vaccum sealed jars ( I do this also)
I have to say I went to cosco today and zero hamburger in the three packs ( 2 weeks in a row) they did have the kind they grind right there 80 / 20 4.99 a lb. No hotdogs. I have never seen that before. Only canned vegetable was green beans and no cream of mushroom soup or cream of chicken soup. I asked and they said they are having trouble getting these things in. I have noticed they have less and less of things you need to put a meal together and more and more prepacked meals.
Not supposed to freeze coffee. Something to do with it affecting the oils in it.
My cans are full,of vegetables from walmart
Pet food is expensive and keeps going up
Danno is the Folgers coffee you like the Colombian?
I love the Folgers Columbian
Yes
How long does water last storing it
Just store it in airtight bottles in a dark place NOT ON CONCRETE You will always have to purify the water every time.
Most commercial brands last approx 2 years
Well according to google pants LOL it says that drinking water that is Thoroughly disinfected can be stored indefinitely and capped plastic or glass containers that water will not rust, as metal containers may. Because the disinfectant that was in the water when you started will slowly go away, replacing the water every 6 months is recommended.
These are the recommendations for bottled water: keep bottled water in a cool place, between temperatures 50 to 70° I live in a home but I used to live in an apartment and I leave my apartment temperature and home temperature at 68°. Also keep water bottled water out of direct sunlight. Avoid storing it near toxic substances like gasoline or pesticides and that's a given that's common sense.
Depends what you store it in and how it is treated? If you are storing gallon jugs from the store, the plastic is super thin, and they will leak.
About 2 years if it's in a strong container. I even had a sturdy one warp at 8 months. I rotate every six months now.

These are just pretentious lies to get you in the store
You never know when a health issue, accident, job loss, family emergency, ECT may lead to your personal SHTF. When that happens, you will be glad you had things on the shelf.
How is it a lie?
I'm preparing my house for my own personal Shtf. I'm a 72 year old woman living all alone in a little country subdivision. I'm basically on my own. Going to town is over 30 miles away one way. I am prepping for a time when I can't get out because of a blizzard or tornado or because of sickness. Any thing from a cold, the flu, broken bone or just plain tired could set me back. Food is one thing and a good start but I have also concentrated on bed clothes and towels and socks and undies while we can still get cotton. Hand tools and OTC meds round out my plan. I'm not there yet but at least I'm working toward my old age goal. No one is going to do it for me. Also games and books and puzzles and crafts to help occupy the mind. I'm far enough out that I don't think the stores will deliver to me except maybe Amazon? When the government comes knocking on my door saying they are 'here to help', I'll be able to go all Amy Winehouse on them and say , "No, No no!" I'm also working on getting my house paid off so some landlord can't come along and kick me out.
sorry, but I don't know how many viewers think this, but your PREPPER attitude is actually doing more harm than good. It's been shown that want-to-be preppers are wasting a LOT of food through expiration and spoilage. I admit I have fallen in the same trap, buying things that are 'cheap' even though I won't use them in the next 6 months or more. Yes, Danno alerts us to great savings, but before you shop you need to evaluate what you already have! I've fallen guilty of this, and now have TWO full freezers and a stuffed pantry, and still I want to grab the 'savings'. Take two steps back, look at what you already have. How long will that last with your current cooking? If electricity doesn't fail, I could live for months on what I own now. You may be the worst influence on your budget,
I can understand this. You just have to be really organized and do a frequent check of your cans and goods. This should especially be done with home canned foods, since sometimes the seals can fail, but sometimes there can be issues with store bought. I am trying to get organized myself, since at times I forget what I have. Some of the YT channels have free journals to print out and write down what you have. Suttons Daze channel has one that I'm going to print out for myself. She is very organized. Also Rose Red Homestead may have a free printable journal/list. Organization and working it into your daily/ weekly/ monthly routines just like shopping, are very important. The sales have been important for me also, but you need to figure out what you can buy in large and smaller quantities. Doing that will also reduce waste. If you don't think you'll use in time, find family or friend to give it to, or process it in a way that extends the storage life. For example, dried beans can be canned, or cooked then frozen. Frozen veggies can be dehydrated for later use, which frees up freezer space and you can add to soups later on. A dehydrator is way less money than a freeze dryer. Also the key is to buy foods that you will actually eat and find ways to use them.
I think you would be well served to work from a spread sheet, discipline shopping and a comprehensive menu
Danno, I really think you are now fear mongering over pennies That is why I don't watch your rants much anymore. 😡😠😡
