- HD A dance scene from "A Royal Affair/Die Königin und der Leibarzt/"En kongelig affære" featuring Mads Mikkelsen as Johann Friedrich Struensee, Alicia Vikander as Caroline Mathilde and Mikkel Følsgaard as Christian VII. Danish with no English subtitles.
I just realised: Mads and Alicia both were ballet dancers before they went on to acting! How amazing, that makes this scene even more amazing
flawless
Perfect pair
The way Mads looks at Alicia takes my breath away every time. And he's too handsome to be human... I mean, those cheekbones look like they belong on a marble statue of Adonis. So glad I randomly decided to watch this movie on Netflix, despite the depressing ending! Their love is so sublime
i second what you said about Mads
You said a mouthful. And those bedroom eyes.
@@mercedespernas oh dear lorddd
i LOVE/LOVE/ HIM ON Clash of the Titans!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Right? I wonder if anyone has ever tried to slice bread on those cheekbones
Mads Mikkleson is a professionally trained dancer! He's probably "out of the way bitches, show you how it's done!"
hahahaha
Alicia Vikander has danced with Mads Mikkelsen and married Michael Fassbander. What a lucky woman. 😄
What lucky men ...
Aw! I know they're actors, but Mads seems to be genuinely enjoying himself. You can see and feel his love for dance in this scene.
The funny thing is, Mads said in an interview that he really liked doing this scene.
@@tkraid2575
That makes sense, he loves dancing!
@@kirikakirikakirika He's actually a professionally trained dancer. He won a scholarship with Martha Graham in NY before he started his acting career.
I think he just naturally enjoys his life immensely, as one should, but so often don’t.
This scene is really well made. I love how he shows his mental processes going from okay flirting now... to OMG I'm in love with the King's wife!
I absolutely love this movie! I would hate if anybody watched this and wouldn't be able to understand what they're saying.
Translation:
Struensee: Your majesty.
Caroline: You recognized me?
Struensee: I think I would be able to recognize you while being blindfolded.
Caroline: But you aren't very imaginative.
Struensee: No, apparently I'm not very good at masquerades.
Caroline: For me it is the only evening during the year where people can be themselves... But you never take your mask off, do you?
Struensee: Your majesty - will you do me the honor?
makes the scene even hotter. thanks!
EkatTv the movie has the translation idk why this scene doesn't
EkatKh what is there to say when there's chemistry.
Thank you so much. I don’t understand why they don’t have English subtitle! This movie is bittersweet romance of love!
Destynee Paradise sure! If only men were this way know. And times were like this. There would be less lonely women.
The way he looks at her....and when he smiles... I started to cry because I realize that I miss someone that look at me that way... This scene is so emotional...
If you were ever in doubt that this man did ballet…
alicia was trained in ballet as well
alicia vikander is stunning. her husky voice also adds a sultry quality to her.
fishflavoredicecream AGREED!
Poor thing, she had to settle for Fassbender. ha
@@shiboof whaat fassbender is cute
@@shiboof Fassbender is hot as hell tho
@@shiboof tf Fassbender is fine as hell
yes Mads mikkelsen.
Aris Vesel, he’s so handsome in this film.
I love this scene! The chemistry between them is so mild, but still so intense and they move together so beautifully.
I have never seen this movie, I don't speak this language, I have no context of what's going on...but their acting and the directing and all that is so good that I can still understand the emotions at play in this scene. That is talent and everyone who worked on this deserves a lot of praise.
It's based on a true love story. The Danish King (Christian 7) hired a doctor, who became his close friend, The King was marked by mental illness , so he did't pay Queen Caroline Mathilde much attention or affektion. Struensee fell inlove with the queen, and started an afair. It did't end well for the queen and Struensee, she got put in house arrest in Celle, and Struensee got executed. She never saw her kids again.
OMG! Mads is a very very charm man. His actings are excellent. I just keep on focusing him. And I fall in love with him because this scene.♥
I could write an essay on this scene, I think the fact that I don't speak this language helps. I'm not reading words, I'm studying everything else, their tone, body language, expressions are enough to tell you everything if you know the plot loosely enough. The music and ambiance for the scene is immaculate. Both actors are incredible.
I love the way that at 1st ,the soundtrack expresses the place's atmosphere, and suddenly changes to the characters atmosphere, than goes back to the party. First is the outside of the characters, than the inside and outside again. Just perfect and natural.
Mads has the natural ability to light up any woman like a torch 😍
dem cheekbones tho
That mouth and those lips
Alicia was in ballet school for 9 years.. You can totally tell! She's so graceful!
When you get 2 ex-professional dancers who studied ballet and acting to do this 😍
Watched this movie with my boyfriend two days ago and we both thought it was a great movie! I found myself wanting to cry at a few scenes (especially the ending) Mads is such a fantastic actor and he's so handsome! 😍 This scene is really beautiful!
I was just ready to stream this movie again just to see this scene. One of the truly great dance scene on film and surely the sexiest. Thanks so much.
I had forgotten how nice it was to hear the clomp clomp of the heels on the wooden floor - it gave this scene such authenticity. Oh yes, and agree with all the other comments to date. Have seen every film but Vildspor and Monasvord (?) so can't wait for the next one.
This was one of the more amazing love stories I've ever seen on film, ever. Move over Jack and Rose....
Actually, the music is "Water Music Suite No.3 in G Major, HWV 350: V. Country Dance". The fifth in the suite. I really love that jolly woodwind thingy..
Thanks!! I was looking but could't find
+Melys0412 -- Water Music is by the great Georg Friedrich Handel -- a clever German who adopted England as his own: this is indeed lovely dance music, & I love the way this scene is grand & intimate at the same time , thanks to the camerawork & the 'knowing' on the part of this beautiful couple 💔
thanks!!
This Masterpiece of a movie is both a movie to be taken seriously, but also one of my so called "comfort movie"... I've seen it so many times and still can't get enough.
This is such a Beautiful scene, especially the moment when their eyes lock and they finally realise their true feelings towards each other....!
I really love this film. Mads is perfect in it. Such a heartbreaking true story. Very well done.
Oh my… this beautiful man….
I have no interest in most historical reenactment, but I would definitely enjoy reenacting an 18th or early 19th c. ball like this. I think the style of dance looks so fun and flirtatious, and the dress is so splendid!
The Great Dane! His scenes with lovely Alicia are captivating -- I also watched this movie by chance & I'm glad I did🙏
So do i, i was bored looking for a film to see and i stumbled on this beautiful masterpiece 😍

Love the CLAPS
Mads has great lightness in the feet as well. And he and his partner are so absolutely trained in the muscle memory to do this stuff. Makes such a difference to see dancing done by professionals. Not like English TV where Mr Darcy or whoever just goes hippity hop!
they are magical together, and you can feel " it " happen.. He is very maskulin and handsome, she´s gorgeous.. love it.
18th century Mads? ... Um, yes please! (yum).
Damn you Mads, you handsome devil!
further to that scene - the slo mo reveals - every 360 degree turn shows Mads with a new expression - a sense that something emotional and out of his management is happening here - subtle. Mobile mind that Mads.
so basically two Nordic ballet dancers dance while acting in the same movie. cool!
Шикарный мужчина и красавица. Классная сцена из замечательного фильма, в которой сочетаются невероятные красота и изящество главных героя и героини и грубое дурашество её сумасшедшего мужа.
I love these period dances!!
I've had a huge crush on Mads Mikkelsen since I first saw him in Casino Royale six years ago. Six years (and many movies) later, and I find him hotter than ever. Such a gifted man and a talented actor :)
This whole scene makes my heart happy...it's a whole story told in facial expressions. I wish dancing were like that these days. Contra comes pretty close in America, but it isn't easy to find anymore.
Beautiful 💕 movie ,script, photograhics actors, Thank.you.
I cried too. The actors were great and had great chemistry!
The dance is even hotter and more romantic that the sex scene, but that was really amazing too.
Enchanting scene.
Love the music and the dance.
I wish though, there would have been some moments, where they showed the intire figure when they danced, and how they moved their feet.
I especially would have liked to watch Mads Mikkelsens moves, since he is such an elegant dancer.
What an elegant dancer Mads is:perfect balance and form. She is very lovely. Unlike the usual plastic hollywood bimbos, she's a natural beauty.
Hes proffesional :P
Thank you .Yes Mads has a background in dance. He's a very gifted actor.
Thanks, truepureblue. Love the film--and Mads is gorgeous!
Oh yes, MaryJane. Mads is quite a man!
Mari Christian Please, when you're praising a woman don't look down on another one at the same time. Natural beauty or unnatural beauty doesn't affect their acting.
saw this yesterday with my girls, we just sobbed it was amazing.
Wonderful actor & movie.
Mads was made to dance.
I'm wondering if Mads had formal dance training when he was young. He carries himself very well; similar to that of a ballet dancer. BTW--he is just gorgeous here!
ladyjaneofdunans Yes he was a pro dancer before becoming an actor
Brian Petersen Thank you for answering my question. That was very kind of you.
Alicia used to be a pro ballet dancer too. Love this scene, both of them have so much grace.
ladyjaneofdunans
Yes. He is a classical dancer. Wonderful!
Yes he did :)
Watching this scene over and over... Great Film. Great Actors. Beautiful Mads.
Everyone is talking about Mads, but Alicia was also trained as a ballerina in her youth
Beautiful! Its amazing how fluidly their emotions for each other change w/just a few simple spins on the dance floor.
Aw! I will label that scene between 1.58 and 2.38 "The Bubble Scene!"
How beautiful was that?! I loved that.
That.
love
his hair
Dr.Struenssen lutou pela causa do povo e esse mesmo povo pediu sua sentença de morte. Final me deixou em prantos.Personagem forte, marcante,de poucos sorrisos e extremamente sedutor. Amo esse filme.🥰🥰🥰😍😍
he has charisma, and talent. nobody's perfect.
I love this movie!
Mads, a dream lover!!
My favorite part of this video was where Mads Mikkelsen
One of my favourite scenes.. Amazing!!
my favorite scene in the whole movie, their firts kiss scene is the 2nd *_*
Omg this movie is great. He is so scary in James Bond, but so uberhot and charming in this movie. And she is soo beautiful, but also someone you would really like, not someone who is just hot and sexy. They look like they are both really kind people, besides being beautiful.
This movie was so beautiful romantic, sexy, and so tragic as well.
Mads is handsome.
Gud beskydde Danmark! Hälsningar från edert broderland Sverige! :-)
I like the clap bit.
Шикарный актёр и музыка, Мадс супер супер супер ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
thank you so much for this! it's one of my favourite scene of the movie!
love this movie
Well, all three lead actors are perfect.
ahhh
now I want to see the full movie :)
I imagine Danish [and Swedish] is what English sounds like to non-English speakers. I've always wondered what I sound like to people who don't speak my language :P
You should hear Dutch, it sounds the closest to American English
Underbar dansare och skådespelare..
Lindíssima está cena da dança....emocionante❤❤Mads Mikkelsen é um ator brilhante e Alicia também 😊😊❤❤
What a scene!
This reminds me of a Jane Austen love story, I love it, even though I still have not seen this movie yet lol =)
i don't even know what is this, i just read mads mikkelsen in tittle and i had to watch
love his voice
1 sec in and i’m SWOONING
thank you so much for posting this
Such an excellent actor and a super sexy dancer 🤩
I love this scene its so romantic =)
Arr mads I could listen him talk all day even though I couldn't understand a word he says
Thank you
So fucking beautiful
It's Handel's Water Music Suite No 3 in G Major. Enjoy!
love it, love it, love it
Is my dream dance with him
A lovely scene. Like Jane Austen on steroids. :-b
The translation, as best I can remember it, is:
- Your majesty.
- You recognized me.
- I would recognize you blindfolded.
- Your costume is not so very imaginative.
- No, I've never been good at masquerades.
- For me, it is the one time when people can be themselves. But you never let your mask down, do you?
- Your majesty -- will you do me the honor?
Love him 😢❤
What a great actor he is..I wonder If he could play "Holberg"
-- great idea!!!🙏
Mads está maravilhoso nesse papel.
SO CUTE I CAN'T
Hormones, hormones, hormones.... You know when I first saw the TV show Hannibal, I swear, he didn't appeal to me, but then the show finished, for the year, and now... I'm a mess.... This didn't help! LOL
He's so easy to fall in love with *sigh* x
wonderful
He out acts her. I don't know the language so I have only feeling/energy. Mads is on next level acting compared to the very pretty lady.
The music is by Handel - Water Music Suite No. 3
