Look at these jackasses acting like Witt shouldn't be here or "it doesn't sound right". he's ol reliable, tough, terrific blocker, football craftiness and has the longevity to add on top. I know he's not really exciting to lots of folks, but that shouldn't matter.

IF the Cowboys win a SB with Witten on the team, he will be in the HOF without a doubt. Personally, regardless of a SB win, he should be in the HOF. I've seen interviews with the guys that vote on the players basically come out and say that he needs a SB win to be in Canton which, in my humble opinion, is pure horse poo! He has EARNED his place in the HOF without a doubt!! 💪🏼

He isn't even close to being the best cowboy ever.
Witten's been my favorite player since 2003 and he belongs in the HoF but the Cowboys have way more than 10 HoFers. In reality Witten falls just outside the top 10. Randy White is a top 5 Cowboy, SHOO IN first ballot HoFer even during the height of the anti-Cowboys bias, first team All Decade, SB MVP, and one of the greatest all around players in NFL history. HoF WR Bob Hayes, the fastest man in NFL history, had an even bigger impact on Dallas than Witten did, providing the spark that led to their first winning seasons and revolutionizing the entire NFL. I've got him #9. Larry Allen is a first ballot HoFer, a 2 time All Decade player, and the most dominant offensive lineman I've ever seen. He's #6. Deion Sanders, while I don't like him anywhere near as much as Witten, is the greatest cover corner in NFL history and he started more games (regular season and playoff) with Dallas than with any other team, contributing in various ways to a SB win in 1995. The very best at his position in NFL history and a player who was primarily a Cowboy has to be considered a top 10 Cowboy. I've got him #7.

If you don't think Jason Witten is a top ten Cowboy, you're stoned off of your gourd. For the record, Gonzalez never won a Super Bowl either, and he played for two different ball clubs.

I would EASILY take Witten over Gates. Probably not over Tony G, but he was a more complete player than him. Tony G's run blocking wasn't so great.
I would take Witten over Gates but not by too much, I have Witten at #3 ever and Gates at #4
I without a doubt would take Jason Witten over any other tight end. If Seattle had Witten in Super Bowl 49 & Russell Wilson is throwing to him the Seahawks win that game!

It just depends on how you define greatness, do you judge what era they were in, what the style of offense and Defense Teams ran. IS it statistics, is it wins championships. I think guys like Tony Romo and Jason Witten are really good Football players, hall of fame players if you look at the sheer moment. But We often judge greatness based on what you do when the big moments happen. Do win the Big one. That's why in so many people's minds Tom Brady is the GOAT, because he is a winner, and a winner who has come from all odds. But back to the Cowboys, I think you have to do thorough research on what the era was like, did they dominate their opponent or were they consistently good like Jason Witten who is the Cowboys greatest Tight End ever. Irvin belongs on this list, Smith, Aikman, Roger Staubach and Randy White are sure fire greats. I know I am missing so many other greats. But I do believe when his career is set in done. Dez Bryant should be on the list when he retires. Bob Lily Naturally but I do like the Original 88, Drew Pearson but to some, he didn't play long enough. It certainly is interesting.

Jason Witten was a great player. I"ve no opinion on any of this Top Ten nonsense. and the argument that someone didn't win a Super Bowl is completely invalid. It takes 40+ players and excellent coaches to win anything. in the NFL. The greatest of all time (Tom Brady?) wouldn't have a single Super Bowl ring if he'd have been the QB on some teams. That said, thanks for all the great videos on great players.
