We do a 2 week meal plan. I have found it saves a TON. When the end of the 2 weeks nears we are forced to use up what we have. I also make the nexts week plan off of what we have left. :)

I never used to pay attention to how much I spent at the grocery store for the month. It's true. I've been tracking spending really closely now--I went back and figured out what we spent for what on everything for 2016 and my goal for 2017 is to come in considerably lower in all categories if at all possible. As a result I'm tracking grocery spending for the month. So, to me three of the best things to do are to 1) meal plan, 2) stay out of the store as much as possible because every visit means roaming all the aisles looking for bargains and 3) track it!
Yes, use the amino acids instead of soy sauce, less sodium and it is so much healthier.

We love grocery outlet! That's always my first stop when grocery shopping to see what we can find, because as you said it's hit or miss! But we usually get lots of great deals and then fill in at other stores :)

When I make Corned Beef I always boil it (about 4 hours) with the supplied seasoning packet. I find that it just falls apart and melts in your mouth.

We do a weekly meal plan and it has helped loads to reduce the spending. We go on a Saturday when we r both off work as we don't work weekends. xx

Love that you had a list and a plan! :) I do 1 big shopping a month and the rest is just fresh foods in between that time and little things that we may run out of. Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza was my absolute favorite pizza when I was a kid! You guys did a great shopping haul!

You can use the liquid aminos with just about anything that needs a little flavor. It's definitely healthier than soy sauce because it's less sodium. I like to add it to fried rice or a little to cauliflower rice if you're into that. Also it's good with stir fry veggies. Pretty much anything you use soy sauce for! :)

I've been wanting to try those rice roll snacks!! They look so cool! I LOVE liquid aminos! It's funny because I'm not a huge fan soy sauce, but I buy the aminos spray bottles and spritz some on my veggies if I don't want them plain! So good!

I always save more money when I don't take my kids shopping with me lol! It's so hard for me to tell them no when they see all their favorite foods and snacks so I always spend more when they're with me ;)

The reason you spend so much on groceries is because your buying pre made foods. Make your own pizzas,breads chicken tenders& nuggets, breaded tenderloins,waffles,pancakes and French toast. All can be once and enjoy all month. Yes start making your own breads.

I Love the Aminos! I've been using it for years.
To help save money I plan my grocery menu around the sales at the stores and shop at Aldi. lol I also shop once a week and use coupons.

I'm just curious what you do with coconut water. Do you drink it plain, or add it to stuff? Also, what do those popcorn roll things taste like that you got at the outlet store? I've seen them at Sam's Club before but didn't get them because I didn't know what they would taste like. But if they taste like rice cakes then I will love them because I love rice cakes lol 😁
+MetalScrappinChick yes, i just drink the coconut water. The rolls are slightly sweet and like ricecakes. Very yummy😊
We do Reuben's with the corn beef it's so good but pricey so we only get it once a year I've been trying to find an alternative so it won't be so expensive but haven't found one just yet....Are the Rice Rolls good? I've seen them on a Blissful and Domestic haul and I've seen them at one of the aldi's we have but my husband doesn't like me driving on that road where that Aldi is at because of hills and road conditions. I might have to send my husband to get them on Friday
I like Reuben sandwiches too! The rice rollers are very good.
If you have room in your freezer you can buy extra corned beef when it goes on sale and eat them through out the year.
we used to do that but now we live in a smaller place with only one chest freezer I liked the standing freezer a lot more room. we still have it but no place to put it so My husband is using it for storage until we get a bigger place.

There's not one local to us but we have gone to the one that's near Disneyland if you look I did a travel grocery haul from our hotel room at Disneyland a few months ago

This is not a criticism just a question...why do you take all the kids to the store that close to bedtime? Wouldn't it be easier for you to just go alone and for the kids to be able to get to bed on time?

+Laura Grillo Thanks for your comment. Our kids sleep in in the morning and love to stay up late. A standard bedtime for them is around 9 pm. They were in bed at 9 that night. It would totally be easier to leave the kids at home, but that leaves one parent dealing with all the kids, which is no fun. Plus we like to do things together as a family. Usually on the drive back the little ones fall asleep and my husband and I get to talk. LOL, it's (almost) like date night! Thanks for watching :)
So to add to that, do they not go to school? I don't know your kids ages. Once mine are in school, the little ones are in bed at 7:30 or they are all cranky pants the next day.
