  • "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York" is a classic holiday comedy film released in 1992, directed by Chris Columbus and starring Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister. It's a sequel to the wildly successful "Home Alone" (1990) and follows a similar premise but with a new twist.
In this installment, Kevin finds himself separated from his family once again, but this time he boards the wrong plane and ends up alone in New York City while his family flies to Florida for Christmas. At first, Kevin revels in his newfound freedom, enjoying luxury accommodations at the Plaza Hotel and exploring the city. However, his old foes, Harry (Joe Pesci) and Marv (Daniel Stern), aka the Wet Bandits, are also in New York and planning to rob a toy store on Christmas Eve.
The film combines hilarious slapstick humor with heartwarming moments as Kevin once again outsmarts the bumbling burglars using clever traps and his quick wit. Along the way, he befriends a kind-hearted toy store owner named Duncan (played by the late, great Eddie Bracken) and learns important lessons about friendship, family, and the true meaning of Christmas.
"Home Alone 2" retains the charm and humor of the original while adding new elements and locations, such as iconic New York landmarks like Central Park, the Empire State Building, and FAO Schwarz. The film's memorable quotes, memorable scenes, and John Williams' delightful score make it a beloved holiday favorite for audiences of all ages.
