They are not supposed to remember each other. The reason why all the memories got wiped out immediately after the twilight (normally should be after they go to sleep) is because, in order to change the timeline, they need to sacrifice something deer to them (each others' existence). If she survives, then he doesn't have the motivation to go back in time and saved her, so it makes sense in this new timeline. When the brain forgets, the heart remembers. It was also because of the moon's deity who safekeeps the feelings (based on Japanese's folk lore), that is why they kept focusing on the moon during the scene.
That ending does make you wonder if Taki and Mitsua remember once they hear each other's names and it all comes rushing back to them, or if they just start from there feeling that they have this deep connection with each other? Either way, the ending is a very happy one that they found each other.
LISTENNNNNNNN i meant as in like she knows they switched bodies and the guy was there with her right now, not the whole time thing 😭😭😭, which yes she did know about the dream/switching bodies as well but at that exact moment i didn't know he was three years ahead so her talking about time didn't seem fully related to what was happening in my head, idk if im explaining myself :((
@@JavieraReacts I meant she was explaining the entire thing, what caused the switching, why it was happening. Musubi was cutting and reweaving time, the flow of the connections of his people wer e about to to be tangled and ended by the meteor, so he had to reconnect them to the future. He did that with rhe red cord, tied to the past in her hair to three years ahead on his wrist. Their God was trying to save his people.
i don’t think they remembered each other. they were always searching for someone something, it mimics real life scenarios where people have found fulfillment after having this feeling of longing
dang it:(, i think it's still a beautiful ending either way but i would hope after a while they remembered why they were looking for each other all those years without realizing
This isn't the typical sad movie -- they actually saved everybody and are heroes even if they don't remember it. This movie evokes the melancholy of longing - for a missing piece you don't even know is missing.
ohhh, I had never heard of this one! just looked it up, will try to watch/react to it next friday! I'd been looking for another movie to watch, thank you!:))
iI have watched this movie for more than 30 times, i cryed every single time.
