Nathan Sawaya was just looking for a creative outlet at the end of his long workdays as a lawyer in New York City when he first picked up some Legos and starting building. In a short period of time, after building elaborate designs and publishing them online, it became clear that being a Lego artist could be a full-time commitment. Sawaya made the jump to start his worldwide exhibition, The Art of the Brick, and shows what life is like as Lego's "Most Unique Customer," working in his studio with 5 million little bricks.

If he doesn't have a UA-cam channel, he should make one. People would be interested into this stuff, and he could make some money.
Greatest career move ever!
Become a UA-camr, Play Minecraft, Play it for years, become a Millionaire
Ill give you guys a hint, CaptainSparklez
You should do one on Luca-Iaconi Stewart. He is another awesome guy! He left college and then devoted his time to building a 777 replica all out of paper!
Totally Agree 😜
Discov
sarcasm is strong with this one.
This channel needs more recognition. A lot of interesting stories that should be having hundreds of thousands of views in my opinion.
UA-cam is becoming saturated. Good channels don't get recognition like they used to.
Let me guess. Undertale reference?
Nah, we need to worship Poopdiepie and his epic fucking screams and just shove all the good content down to leave youtube ever
SirCutRy Honestly there is a video of this posted by the guy himself while this video that is clickbait gets way more views.
Let's build something awesome!
nice seeing you here
Texas Wolf
Let's build the word (something awesom)
This is what a master builder looks like.
Ugly God lol nice I play coc too
He sure built himself a career
Ugggggh this hurts my head to think about how long all this takes. Aside from that, great job for following what you want to do!
I saw his exhibition in South Africa. Johannesburg. It's so cool to see stuff like this and see how such a small thing can build something so articulate is amazing.
This bloke needs a fucking minecraft server.
He has one. It's real life, running with a custom texture pack called real life.
Saw your segment on Headspace and really connected. I'm an attorney, too, needing more creativity in my life, so I found this so inspiring!! Thank you!
You are not crazy, you are just a passionate artist followed his hunch & passion (way of happiness)
I love his art and his message. Great interview!
A few years ago I went to his art exhibition when it was in Dublin, I loved it
Good on him, doing what he enjoys for a living.
The yellow sculpture is in the 'lady gaga - G.U.Y' music video

What you do with Lego is completely awesome. Wish I had that many bricks. I could finally build my Lego city.😀
Glad to hear that you pursued your passion! If you enjoy what you do, you never have to work a day in your life!
I went to Art of the Bricks exhibition in Seoul today. It was breath-taking without exaggeration
28 people are still playing Lincoln Logs.
your so amazing and inspiring artwork :)
The website story sounds kind of like what I'm doing now. I'm pursuing average life goals, and in my spare time I edit music videos and direct/make stories in SFM, (I really do feel like I'm making a movie or episode when working in SFM), and of course I'd really like to Direct as a career choice, but I'm a realist and treat it as just a hobby for now. Way I see it; if I just keep making things, eventually I'll get to a point where I can do just about anything, and maybe I'll be able to find a way to apply those skills to real life/career choices, (P.S. You can't make money with SFM, I know that; I just like having the freedom to do whatever I want in it and create scenes where things happen that people enjoy watching. I like to think of it as directing, but it's probably a few other things at the same time; like learning how to light the models and such).
Amazing im very very impressed and good for you sir
I just see the DC Comics collection at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney, one word for this work is "AWESOME". Thank you
That's how paradise must look like!!!
Your art is amazing. I wish I had your courage to follow my passion.
Superb 👌🏼👏🏼👏🏼
This is amazing
The Lego company/corporate should hire him
They have already endorsed him.
Swedish Felix
You should have a reward for those masterpieces
that's the lego heaven
Just follow your passion! Great example :)
amazing!
People like you inspire me to make this kind of stuff keep it up
God given talent
Lol, I find it funny that the T-Rex took three months while making the Bat mobile took only three... haha I guess it's just the complexity of the piece. Anyways, fantastic job, some of your works are AWESOME.
WOO NATHEN MY MAN
He is AMAZING !
definitely, a true artist!:)
That's such a interesting Full-time Job
That's amazing!
i feel you bro i feel ya
You only live once & you should follow your passion and what makes you happy!

Your the best keep up!
Finally some that said the plural of lego correctly. Thank you.
I love this.
0:42 Rorshach!!!
Nathan, please make some more videos about lego and your lego career.
Very Impressive..!!
Inspiring
Fantastic.
This is epic
I saw this guy in the Lego brickumentary (documentary) if your interested in this stuff I recommend you to watch it :)
Good job keep it up
Hes my favorite of all your creations
Amazing
I saw this guys buildings at a museum in alaska its pretty cewl
I saw some of these in person
This bricks is expensive as hell!
No way I literally just went to a convention about this guy.
I wish I could do lego like that
Lego has to be giving him a sweet deal on his bulk brick purchases. The materials alone for the large sculptures would otherwise be super cost prohibitive.
AmaZing
Nice job building the man in my thumbnail
this is the best
pretty cool story
Wow !
Saw it while I was in Cincinnati
dang..I want to work with him.
Where does he get his pieces from??
WoW , thats some awesome art dude.
I would like to purchase some. Is that even possible?
I can't even keep a car together...
This proves u can really do anything if u put your mid to it doc brown
A question -- once a Lego artist completes something amazing like these sculptures, do they apply some material (like glue) to prevent the sculpture from being destroyed?
